Well actually just me. Maybe I'm out of place here, but it is 9:30ish in the morning and this thread hasn't risen yet.

Lastnight We killed nef on our 3rd attempt. We had a couple mages and priests D/C at the wrong time *25ish percent or so* and one of our mages didn't feel like moving when the mage call came. this meant sheeps for everybody.

Other than that, we downed him and left to conquer MC. got to shazzrah and called it a night. It was 2:30am. I woke up late for work today. Does not look too good locking thekeys in your car one day and being late, then sleeping in the next...sigh.

It's such an interesting difference.

In three straight weeks, we've wiped 0 times on Nef (not counting naked color check), not b/c we're "1337" but b/c we HAVE to. The alternative is ending the night at 12 w/out Nef and going on to tackle him on Friday, cutting into AQ40 time.

For you guys, I guess endtime doesn't matter and you just red-eye it through the night, so who cares if you wipe 3 times on Nef, you still have time, and you even go on to Shazz afterward.

Bizzare the difference between a "casual" raidguild and a "hardcore" one ... in that the hardcores have way more room for error and pounding shit out heh :)

Grats to your bloody eyed powernight.

I honestly don't know why we did MC lastnight, It's not like it was going anywhere this week. *shrug* We had an abnormal amount of people on lastnight is my only guess.

Normally for me I call it quits at 12am. But I really want to finish my setpiece, and plus since it is friday today, work isn't that hard :P

What is frustrating though about those latenight encounters, is people tend to screw up more frequently. I think on our way out of mags we wiped. we pulled a surger, a corehound and the imps. Shazz attempt was messy at best. Ah well. we'll go back in saturday or so to finish the job Friday = night off wewt

**sidenote**
Can't wait to get like you guys :) Finish BWL in a day, 1 pull encounters :) sounds delicious.
I don't think we're going to focus on AQ40 anymore either. Focus on BWL/MC lewts and gearing up for Naxx. Not any hardcore attempts I mean. maybe when we're bored or something. *shrug*

I ain't telling you what to do, but this should be a clue as to the wisdom of doing them at all. ;)

Our "Midnight" deadline serves many purposes. It makes you really really really pay attention (because no one wants to leave Nefarian alive for the Friday crew and miss out on his 'hawt loot'); it makes you have a clear "end point" to add some certainty to your evening (so you don't sit around thinking, "when is he going to let us go?!?)"; and we get to keep our day jobs.

I'm not just arrogantly proud of being a part of a guild that has nef on "farm." I'm arrogantly proud of having done it in no more than 12 hours a week. 12 intense, hard-working hours, sure. But beats the hell out of 30 sleep-deprived wipe-filled ones.

Oh don't get me wrong here, We too usually end our raids at 12am. Why we kept going lastnight I'm not too sure. I guess in our minds it was a Kill nef at 8pm and then do a full clear...well after 3 attempts and getting him on our 4th (Not our 3rd)

Time was a little late, but it was still on the agenda so we pressed on. Ah well, lots of new people got to see MC and whatnot so it was fun. Frustrating at points, tired today, but As long as we don't do that ALL the time I'll be happy.

Nef w/ no dwarf priest is annoying.

But doable, he only fears every 30-40 seconds, so if you time it right you can handle it w/ zerk stance. Been keeping an eye on that for the inevitable DPs die no battlerez situation.

It's not that big a deal Hatchet.
Because of the way it works, 1 DP on Nef is equivalent to no DP in a way, in the sense that a good priest can solo fearward Nef using a 30s cooldown skill that resists one fear, and zerker rage resists all fears for 10s and has a 30s cooldown. In a way it's similar.

Nef also has about twice the "shake alert" warning period before his fears that Ony has, giving plenty of time to stancedance.

his dragonshake brings all the dwarves to the yard, cause it's better than yours?

Until I bought my new computer I didn't know about the shake. Never heard it, never saw it, never felt it.. min settings for the lose....that or I just never paid attention to it.

Oh! it is also alot more fun getting my rogue call and being able to see what is going on. when I got teleported I usually lagged and didn't stop lagging till near the end.

Now I can DPS and pop my health pot if Nef isn't turned quick enough.

I was telling Waib the other day that I'd love to see an Alliance raid in action (sit and watch while a pal plays) so I can better judge if there's any truth to the Horde's "easy mode" rant.

Horde complaining about fear ward on nef isn't a valid complaint because its damn easy to stance dance if your tank isn't completely retarded. The fact that the shaman call is utter gayness compared to the pally one is.
