The Sims 2... I liked it, but I think it was far from best. In my opinion, the best strategy game was Rollercoaster Tycoon 3.

Sims / Sims 2 is NOT a strategy game ffs.

Its a real-life RPG. You dont have resources, or tactics, or economy or whatever ffs.

I have absolutely no idea why some people consider it as such. :rolleyes:

Meh. My vote still goes to X-Com: UFO Defense/UFO: Enemy Unknown. Came out in '94 and still owns most other strategy games.

Have you ever played the game, Celtic?

It had it all. Good (for the time) graphics, a great story, and a superb blend of RTS base building and turn based combat portions. Not to mention devilishly hard, and your soldiers developed RPG style, based on how they were used. The missions were randomly generated enviroments, and there was a wide wide range of aliens to battle against. I nearly crapped myself the first time I saw a Chrysalis turn like 3 of my squad into zombies in one turn. Then I almost crapped myself again when I capped a zombie and a brand new Chrysalis popped out Alien chestburster style. The music was outstanding, setting the mood perfectly. The sound effects were spot on as well.

One of my favorite games of all time, and deservingly so.

Well i totally agree with Half Life being number one. And WOW number two. Thoes would be my top two of the year.

Mwrar, I feel rather dumb now. Still a great game. I've got a copy for PSX that I play all the time, because my computer is too fast for it.

Well, you are all right. The Sims 2 is a simulator/rpg, it's far from RTS. I just didn't think about it.
