Uhh I started watching like.. damn this game has got to be really gay,
but the video has blown me away, seriously.
Everyone has to watch this video, even if just to have experienced it- rather than being tempted to get the game.

I've been waiting for this for more than a year.

It's called Spore, it's incredible. Will Wright is a genius.

Haven't heard anything of it for a long time though, thanks for the vid :D

EDIT: BTW this vid is actualy from E3 2005, I remember reading about it, this exact demonstration, but I'd never actualy seen the vid itself...

Note to trekies: did you notice the battle music is ST TOS hand to hand combat music :D

That game is just AMAZING from a design standpoint. A scope beyond anything anyone else has come up with.

From an entertainment standpoint, dunno if it'll be all that fun. Definately going to get it, and major major kudo's to the designers either way.

I am very selective in what I like, and a graphics whore, but from the design and from the technical standpoint it looks like this game will very well live up to its caption "best game ever". Remains to be seen if it will play out that way in terms of gameplay, interest, final code etc.

This is one game I will most definitely be trying, unfortunately if it is a MMO, I have a carved in stone "i aint paying a subscription" attitude. Unless its sub $2 a month :P

It really isnt a mmo from my comprehension but like the sims you can download additional content off line and the game will sync peroidcally and update that content I think. So its a MMO in terms of content not players.

Nah - tis not multiplayer at all. The scope it covers look superlative. Also the scope for creating your own shit. I Think it will be one of those games you can just play and play. Not for the excitement factor... more for the oooooooh i wonder what if oiooooooh pretty - factor

I loved the applause he was getting in the video every time he scaled up, those are mostly game media and other game designers there, it was a closed presentation, invite only.

It's 'a-synchronous multiplayer'... which means that what you do doesn't affect anyone else directly, but your creations do.

If you create a big predator, and someone else is playing a game with a world that doesn't have many predators, your creature might be downloaded and used as the 'top of the food chain creature'...

But to balance things out on your own world SPORE may dl an even bigger badass to introduce into your ecosystem, from an entirely different person's game world... that's gonna be fun if it's the giant carebear ;)

If someone elses whole world is introduced to your galaxy, and you destroy it with your UFO, he won't notice it at all, just like if your world gets destroyed in another person's game.
