WE have 5 folks from SWAT putting in applications to join our guild. So I'm curious, the story that I heard was that last week SWAT wiped on Shazzbot 3 times and suddenly a bunch of guys /gquit. If you are one of these people please clear up the stories I've been hearing about what happened that day. I am concerned with gquiting after a few wipes especially since we do have our occasional wipe-fest craptacular and especially if we use our resources to improve youir character, will you have the fortitude to stick around or are you guys gonna quit on us too?

Gee, you think they would have made it through our 16 wipe session on Vael?
And ya I think it might be a good idea to have these guys clear the air here. Hobben seems like a good guy and did well on Chrom, and since I know he trolls maybe he could give us some insight.

Apparently SWAT has some serious issues/had some serious issues. Whiped 6 times on the way to Shazz, officers called raid. Main tank disagreed, and was summarily (?) /gkicked. Two officers left ... others followed, blah blah blah.
The word on the street isn't that people quit after whipes, but after the drama/bs that followed.
Don't quote me though, and talking too in-depth about other guilds' affairs isn't the best course of action.

Yea it was about what happened after the raid got called and everything, not about the wipes.

Not trying to make light of another guild's mishaps. However, having correct information helps in the new applicants favor rather than those ignorant people like myself and Gren have bad first impressions.

I'm not trying to bash or anything like that. I would just like someone to post a claraification of what happened so we feel more confident in our applicants intentions.

I rolled to 60 in SWAT - there may be some good picks out of the fallout from that guild....

Y'know...many guilds have their fallouts. It happens.
I think if we are as meticulous in our recruiting and evaluating potential members, we will not have a problem.
(yes, I know...what did ya do with Leridyn and why is she so agreeable all of a sudden?)

Why Shad? Bluey is back on the server I hear
Because Shad is still in the guild...and because I can. :)

Since you asked . . .
LONG VERSION:
I was the warrior commander in swat, ie in charge of all of them, they come to me with problems, i set up tanking positions, assign targets, blah blah you get the picture.
What happened was we, well swat, started to get sloppy. Lots of people weren't paying attention during raids, and just plain screwing around. Somtimes pulling adds somtimes just dump stuff like running around and falling into the lava, then of course wanting a summon which slowed us down. We had a lot of cliques as well, groups of people that would shut others out or talk about them behind there back. That of course got to the point where we had some yelling matches and what not.
So when the other night rolls around and people are even wrose then before, and we wipe 4 times on the way to shazz, and then 3 more on shazz because of people beeing dumb, the officers thought it would be a good idea to call the run early let people realize how much we where sucking, and get back in there on monday. Basically all we wanted to do was wake people up and get them thinking straight again.
Well some of the members of the guild didn't like that idea and went crazy in guild chat. The officers tried to explain what was going on, and no one would have any of that. Now granite i suppose the officers could of handled it differently, in yelling at people indiviualy we didnt think that approach would work as we thought it was more of the guild beeing sloppy not just a few players. And i guess in a round about way calling the raid didnt do what we wanted it to. So anyway the MT(not me) got kicked when the GM came on line and read him going off in guild chat. Boom boom explosion bang smack ouch, most of the officers and some other members leave in the next few days. I beeing one of those and having talked to mike many many times before thought HoTC was a natural place for me to apply. Hence here i am :).
SHORT VERSION
I got tired of having to babysit the people that where slacking, beeing told to fix isuuses that A) i had no prior envolvement in, B) Had no idea how to fix, and C) really no power to make a decision that would stick. So i left, therefor skipping the countless hours of playing dramafest 06 and going to actually playing the game. Would i ever go back to swat? NO never ever, im not trying to bad mouth the remaining members, but im sick and tired of the crap that people can get away with, and the thought that issues will magically disappear. Really i didnt want to be on officer anymore, and i felt no matter what my rank in the guild was i would still end up dealing with 90% of what i mentioned.
Anyway that was my take on it, take it as you will. Hope you understand and stuff. Also I would appricate it, if you didnt make a huge deal about this. Swat is kinda revamping and what not and just because i left, doesn't mean that i want them to fail or anything like that.
I really hope you guys dont see the members from swat that posted apps here, as quiters. Because we arn't, out of the 5 that posted apps, 4 of us work at the same office, live in the same appartment complex and are really good friends. The four beeing myslef, catbread, jakal, and theroc. The 5th application is my brother so yeah. If i get into HoTC, i wont be leaving, ever from what i can tell you guys have you stuff together and Mike is a great guy that is a great leader. Im positive ill never have the issues i had with swat, in HoTC. All of those people i just mentioned are awsome people, great players, and dedicated. Please dont take the way swat broke up as an indication of the quality of persons we are. IMO what happened with swat would of happened no matter who the officers where.
Sorry for the long post, but you asked :). Plus it gave me a chance to vent.

TY for clearing that up:)
Don't worry about writing a complete explanation or a thought process down due to length especially when we discuss strategy and perspectives from the game because it is highly doubtful that you'll ever be able to out write our Winsome's Legendary Walls and Walls of Text:P
As for no Drama, well HOTC never ever ever ever has any of that:nyah:
