So it is Monday, the day after the day of rest. You would think that if Sunday is the day of rest, on Monday one would feel rested. What horses&*t. Monday is always the worst day because you end up staying up later on Friday and Saturday and therefore it is harder to get to sleep on Sunday. Well that and running through BWL till midnight.

First off, I hope Thibz is feeling better. He is a man to have stuck it out as long as he did. Then again, that whole lay down and rest thing when aren't feeling good has never worked for me. I will lay down for about 30 secs before I realize that it isn't working. But, I have problems sleeping when I am sick anyway. I get repetitive nightmares where I do the silly mind-numbing jobs over and over. For instance, when I was younger I was an usher at a movie theather where basically all I did was tear tickets. So when I got sick, I would dream that I was at work tearing ticket after ticket. It is fine when you are at work, but to have to go through it while you are sleeping is horrible.

Congrats to the rogues last night, well 2 of them anyway. Ex-rogues will be happy to hear that Firemaw dropped both the gloves and the claw last night and zero 'lock loot dropped. Congrats to Leri and Blacksoul respectively.

You know, last night turned out to be a good night of raiding even though it started out bad. I mean who wipes 2 times before the first boss is "pulled" especially when there is no trash before it? Then we tried our best to ruin the last attempt of the evening with a weird unplanned body pull, but we kept it together and actually made a decent attempt of it.

I learned a couple of things about spellbinders.....#1 Darth Vader, I mean Blacksoul does a helluvalot of damage and him getting that claw last night is only going to make it worse (better). Along with him and 2 hunters (and our healers of course) we were able to down a spellbinder before the rest of the raid took down a dragon. #2 Fire gear is the way to tank spellbinders. Their flamestrike is their major damage dealer, their melee attack is really weak in comparison. #3 To make life easier for everyone, keep the spellbinders stunned. Rogues use kidney shot and tanks use concussive blow, pally stuns don't work because they are magic. Stunning them keeps them from using polymorph ftw.

Thanks to everyone and the leadership for allowing me to learn to smelt elementium. I have a feeling I will be doing this daily...ya wtf ever! Do you realize what it takes to make that stuff? Black and I were having a discussion about which is easier to get, the elementium ore or the fiery core needed to smelt. That doesn't include the 3 elementium flux (at least I think that is what it is called) which I think goes for 20g a pop, might be 15g with the right rep. Did I mention that it takes 10 arcanite bars as well? I knew it was legendary stuff, but I figured it was because you needed epic ore to smelt. Gadi I will keep providing you with crystals as long as I get to be the smelter :p

So Ebronroc will be going down soon. The fight isn't that hard, but the tanks have to get their timing down. We had it for a while, but then we ran out of tanks at the end. Hopefully we will be going back tonight to put him in a coffin because I want him dead then again Ebonroc is alot more appealing than core farming.

This week's secondary BWL goal....zero wipes on trash. We only had one last night which is alot better than previous encounters, so keep it up.

Finally, I want to throw another shout out to RS. Their alliance (which is hopefully disolving) downed Rags last night. So IIRC they down both Rags and Ony for the first time this weekend. They are making huge progress at end game content so we better get a move on. For those of you who don't know, RS is my old guild and a few of their members (Zoe, Cenati, and Nynaeve) come to BWL with us as fill ins.

Send my congrats along to your former guildies, Telva. And keep send those crystals my way for Gadi. That way I can always have an edge over one of the best tanks in the guild. And so my evil plot begins, muahaha.

Well something tells me I hold the edge on him, you are sort of my money launderer. I guess if I didn't trust ya, both Gadi and I would be screwed.

Nice quote Zeph...

Btw, I did zero PvP this weekend and I don't feel any worse for wear. I did put 2 levels on the Alt and if I didn't need money on Telva, I would probably work to get the rogue to 40 so she can stay farming herbs.

I was wondering when someone would notice. :D

Thanks for the props, guys :) I wish I could have been there for that first kill though; I got to the sign-up page two hours after it went up and we already had five warlocks (we typically bring five of each class in, but DURIDS can sub for priests and vice versa). But I'll be there when RS does it again by ourselves -- maybe this weekend :)

Friday night's Onyxia kill was our second; we also downed her the previous Friday. But I got an RS guild first -- First piece of Tier 2 earned by an RS member, Nemesis baby yeah!

Grats on your epix, Zoe!

Thanks! I've been going around head-butting everybody with it. Made a lot of enemies, and a couple new friends that way!

Have Waib and Hatchet died? Do I not interest them anymore? I think I am going to go home and cry myself to sleep :(

I finally got my epix from Rag, now there is nothing I want from MC. I still need the coreforged greaves, but if I can get the boots of wrath (I think that is next piece I will spend points on) then I won't need the greaves to help out with the ol'FR.

What does this mean to everyone else? Basically Telva won't be signing up for MC for the time being. I will come on off day raids to tackle Luci and Mags, but I won't formally sign up in order to give everyone else a chance at the full MC clear. However, if I am needed and am on, I will gladly come.

I'm sick and stuff, but not dying.

Uhoh, Telva's gonna spend points on BWL Tier 2 Wrath? hint hint wink wink reminder

So this morning I got called to tank Kazzak for Blacksoul's little conglomeration, and was glad it included a lot of HotC. WTG 5k+ latency on pull ... then it went down to 175 when I dps'ed on the SUCCESSFUL attempt. At least I contributed a steady 300+ dps to it. Fun stuff.

I have all I *need* from MC, but I'm on my dps-gear collection binge now for future retirement/situational uses. Not that with new content's release rate I'll ever be able to retire ha.

Quickstrike Ring, Flameguard Gauntlets, Onslaught Girdle and Core Hound Tooth should all do the trick to satisfy my dualwielding dps'ing dark side.

You'd better watch your back, boy. The next quikestrike that drops is MINE.

FYI, I seem to recall something being said that if it is something that I really want to spend points on it; I am all more than willing if you wanna pass some DI boots my way ;)

Btw, there is stuff in MC that I would like ie the girdle, Might pants, and the ring. However, something I have noticed over the past couple of weeks, where have all our tanks gone? I don't know for sure, but I am afraid that they may be getting discourage over the lack of runs they get into. Sure alot of it is on them, ie sign up n00bs, but if they can't sign up until after the current raid ends, then it is kind of hard for them. So I would rather keep them involved and gear them up, for times when the "tier 2" tanks can't be around; especially with the way Htank has been trying to get geared up and the like.

MVB
Feb 13, 2006, @ 06:29 PM
They aren't signing up. It's not on me to track them down, esp. when we're filling on tanks every run anyway.

PST me about those DI boots. You'd be surprised what sits around in my bank waiting for the right situation.

PS - Totally right about the "really want" item in our lil ubertank pact ... are the wrath sabatons the ones you're willing to burn that on (I haven't figured mine yet ... the chest maybe har)?

telva
Feb 13, 2006, @ 06:44 PM
Actually I know what is lying around in your bank, a Lark (sp?) fibbed one day while we were waiting on the queue but I am not one to beg.

And no the boots are just my flavor of the day, it might be the helm (though I am sure that will be handled differently), or the shoulders for all I know. I actually haven't been looking at the tier 2 set with exception ot the pants because they are so much better than the might pants. Heck I don't even know what Ebonroc drops, I just wanna kill him. The way I see it, I am well over 7K in 425 def these days without ZG enchants, so anything else is gonna be gravy.

And I know what you mean about the others. It is up to them to sign up, but I will not rush out to sign up these days. Like I said, I will go if needed but I would rather stand aside for others to gear up. Besides one of them better step up because I will be down in Australia for most of April without this game, and I know Bal would rather play his lock.

Well, we're gonna have a new Warrior applicant. If the nub would get his arse to 60 already.

MVB
Feb 13, 2006, @ 06:54 PM
Just remember for warriors we're highly gear dependent. Getting to 60 is half the process. You've then got 8-12 MINIMUM items to farm for/buy before you're geared enough to handle non-magic-dmg mobs in endgame, and another ton of items for your FR.

Yeah, yeah. I've told him that. Now, whether or not he's gonna be smart and listen...

If he's anything like you then.....
J/k....

In all honesty I need a little Non-Wow time...I've been neglecting alot of things while at home so I probably won't be signing on for the next few days...Also I wanna shoot me some Facist's up and Eat some brains....

and with it being Single-player, I can't be bugged by the outside world and can quit whenever I want >.>

I'll be back on Tues/Wed

Other people know how to contact me fi they really need me

Just a question, wouldn't it be better to get him into the guild now rather than wait for 60? As Mike said, the demands for a 60 tank are pretty high. Plus, the sooner he can be molded and the demands of mvbtanking be pounded into his head the better right? I mean, most people think Valor is the way to go for tanking gear until the learn the ways of the n00b, and then they learn the reality of it all and it is a little daunting.

Trust me when I say the sooner the better. The boy has an ego. And he thinks he can fury tank and not die.

I'm not as fun a tankmaster to learn under as I'd like to imagine am I ;)

I fugured as much. I wonder how long it'll take for him to catch on. You may have to beat him around a bit, Mikey.

Don't worry you have your fun times, basically anywhere outside of MC+, well probably UBRS+. Even though I have not had the dubious distinction of running UBRS with ya, I have seen a run through tank chat and I believe that is when Adeste and Supa becames members of the YABMC.

But I imagine learning it earlier would be better than learning it at 60.....old habits are hard to break, ja kno?

Wow that was quite a day. I didn't dream of getting any more loot for a LONG time in this game. After finishing my Jin ring set and both ZG enchants I was pretty happy gear-wise. To get the Claw was... well... just damn awesome. I hope I do it justice, cause it sure was fun seeing SS crits finally hit 1000!

I have a new appreciation for the Ebonroc fight, and for how easy my class has it sometimes. The co-ordination and skill involved in tanking any of those three drakes is so demanding. Did you guys know that while Ebonroc has only 1.25 million HP, we did over 3 million damage to him on our second attempt? That heal is just plain annoying!

I had a great time listening and talking to the guys on TS while in the run. Not sure i've ever been likened to my man Darth before, but i'm glad it provided some entertainment for the others!

Oh and... WTB A REAL THREAT METER!! I have a beta testing one that has received a lot of feedback on the Raid and Dungeon forums that i've been trying to use, but it just isn't accurate at all. I've sat at 150% of the MT's threat before according to the meter, and been fine, and other times pulled aggro at 50-60%. I think i'll wait a few more versions before trying to rely on it.

Don't forget that a new 60 warrior alt just joined ;)
