First and foremost, I would like to apologize for my early departure from the raid last night. I realize it is bad form to leave during the loot phase especially when you aren't going to win anything because it makes you look like a loot whore. Let me reassure you that is not the reason I left, I haven't wanted loot from Ony since I got her head over a month ago, yet I am always anxious to sign up. I left last night because I was falling asleep at the keyboard before we started Ony so by the time we finished I was wiped out. Sure 60 secs wouldn't have killed me but man I think it helped. Last night was the first night this week I slept to my alarm. Anyway, no more excuses, I will try not to let it happen again. (Thanks Thibz for giving me the idea :p)
So we ran 3 instances last night before Ony. We ran Scarlet to get orbs for Kord and I so we can enchant the might crusader. Guess what? None, I repeat none dropped. Then we ran Baron to get Zeph another BSH and me some lavawalker boots, guess what neither dropped (though I did pick up a nice NR shield). Then we ran BRD for the FoW and tank gear for Htank, guess what nothing dropped! Then we ran Ony guess what nothing dropped....ok I kid here because lots of people got phat loot.
One thing last night reminded me, I hate scarlet strat. I think it has more to do with the fact I have run that instance less than any other besides LBRS. I have probably run scarlet 5 times in my life. I have bad memories from when it was actually hard (well in n00b gear) to 5 man it and have hated it ever since.
So we really need to get together and farm some chops. I would say today, but we kill dragons today. Tomorrow sounds like a good day since it will be cold and rainy here. Hopefully we can work it into the schedule around PvP and other assorted twinking. I want to enter Winsome's lottery of doom, to get another twink to the Emp (have I ever mentioned I have NEVER EVER NEVER seen the FoW drop).
So I am ghey and am going to go watch Brokeback Mountain this afternoon. Unfortunately I hear it sucks but I already committed to going with a friend (a female friend n00btards :) ) Therefore I won't be getting on until about 645pm at the earliest, so hopefully there won't be a queue.
Speaking of which, has there been a queue lately? In all my D/C problems over the past week, I have never had to wait in the queue. Did they get enough people to transfer off the server?

The queues have seem to disappear even at last nights peak time I was instantly on:)
I was one who got PHATZ loot last night. Right after I saw the NW crown display and went WHOOT my friggin computer crashed on me:tantrum:
I raced to get my computer rebooted and when I finally got back on I saw MVB on the 1s countdown and then telling someone to DE something. I was about to go bal-f-ing-listic :tantrum: I know Asarlai saw when I came back online and he started to screw with me by saying sorry bud they are DE'ed the crown:stfu2:
Mercifully Zeph told me that they waited for me to get back online before looting the crown and I was so excited and relieve that I rolled not realizing it wasn't the freeroll and inadvertantly burned my points:(
But O well I got my Netherwind Crown ,which RAWKS, and vendored my POS magister crown:woowoo:

I would like to add my apologizes to those Telva expressed. I also left the raid before the looting was finished, and for the same reason Telva left. I had promised myself to be off WoW 10:30, but when the invite came from Mike I couldn't resist the temptation to kill another dragon. So I stayed on longer than I had expected (and had a great time!). I logged because I was exhausted.
Congratz to everyone who got lewt last night - you deserved it! Gren, I'm glad you got back on in time to get your crown!

I always log out in a huff when something I want doesn't drop. HARRUMPH!
;)
Speaking of tantrums, where's Wahbanez??
telva
Feb 10, 2006, @ 03:13 PM
Wahbanez is in Illinois doing that work thing I think. That and havent you noticed he is too good to troll on our forums now that he is famous on the Dalaran forums :p
Btw, I have a feeling today is going to be a good day, that or all my good luck is gonna run out this morning. Here at work, I just finished what was thought to be 6 weeks of work in 2 days. I still need to do some testing, but I am very confident things are looking way up for ol' Telva.

I would have left the second the loot dropped, but I was eating a sammich, so I didn't have a free hand to hearth with. Plus, I prefer the free portal.
I realize I'm in the minority on this, but I personally don't care if someone leaves at the end of the run, before the loot is handed out.
My feeling is, why should you sit at your keyboard staring at your screen for 15 minutes while we handle purely administrative tasks? I'd rather my fellow players go about their business - get in a battleground queue, go check the AH, get on a bird, whatever. Frankly, you pay a price anyway - leaving early meant no "freeroll" on the Onyxia Hide Bag.
I guess I don't get the idea of why having your cartoon "stand" in an empty cavern is "good form" and having your cartoon "stand" in Ironforge is "bad form." But then again, I've been on edge lately.
I admit, I do tend to stay in the raid group, no matter what - in case Mike has an announcement or something. But other than that, when the black lady falls, I'm not sure why it is such a sin for people to take off (assuming they are willing to forfeit their rolls on any little treats that might come their way).

Feb 10, 2006, @ 03:37 PM
For reasons of announcement, mostly Win. Also, I could care less if you hearth out or port out to go check the AH, start farming, qeue for BG, w/e. Just seems polite is all to hang in the "raid" for the extra few while loot is distro'ed. If you gotta go though, just say somethin' ... "hey guys group is qeueing for AB, thanks for the run!" etc.
telva
Feb 10, 2006, @ 03:43 PM
Ahh this is where I went wrong then. I made mention that I was heading out in tank chat not in raid chat. I did so because loot was being distributed and didn't want to interrupt. Oh well, it isn't that common of an occurance for me, but lessons are learned.

Oh gotcha. Sorry. As I said, I never leave raid until we are dismissed for that exact reason. I thought you just meant hearthing to IF. My bad.
The best thing that happened for me last night was that I had queued for Alterac Valley before Ony, and it popped for me about ten minutes after the run concluded. I joined a losing cause, but Alterac Valley is just free honor anyway, and I finally got to turn in some of my useless hooves and troll lungs and whatnot.

I have a dwarf spine that's rotting in my backpack--the Alliance always kill the NPC before I can turn it in. Not nice. Kwiddit.

Haha, I could probably have a ton of all that stuff but I have no idea who to turn it into, even if I did I would never be able to find them in time.
And I eat undead for dinner, but I always have to add salt to hatchet.

Some NPCs are in your bunkers, but most of the item turn ins are found in your base. Mine are by the Smithy, the Relief Hut, the Flight Master and in a Cave.
Take some time next match to learn their locations and hearth back to your base (with the Stormpike trinket) when you've accumulated 20 armor scraps and an assortment of blood and body parts to turn them in to these NPCs--the AV rewards are pretty nice.
Grinding faction rep this way is sexy and the PvE aspect of AV is what I find the most compelling--killing the Captains, Lieutenants and the General...rescuing the Wing Commanders, placing the beacon to activate them, summoning the Ice Lord, upgrading our troops' armor, calling in the cavalry, capturing graveyards and destroying bunkers = a good time.
Fighting the zerg = meh.

When I get crul'shorukh, Hatchet, I'll be hunting you and your silly OEB with a weapon that does even more dmg, yet lets me wear a shield at the same time.
Look up nefarian drops ;)

Swing away--I'll just get healed. /dance
And yeah, I know--the OEB is so last year. But it's my first epic weapon and it gives me an E-Boner.
Hatchetface looks totally smurfy wielding it--it's bigger than he is. Lawl.

Feb 10, 2006, @ 07:34 PM
I used to use that Hatchet back before DWing days. Actually it still comes in handy because the 2H and whirlwind is deadly.
Btw, I think we should be able to spend points on the trinket. We all know it will drop before the FoW so why not spare me the misery of more BRD :)
MVB
Feb 10, 2006, @ 07:38 PM
B/C it is only fair that those of us who went through the misery of BRD until it dropped get first dibs. Just like DI gear, we don't reward a lack of gear with jumps that aren't necessary.
telva
Feb 10, 2006, @ 07:41 PM
I understand your point so don't get me wrong.....but it isn't like I lack gear, I have Ony's head and Demon's blood, so I have gear just not the best =/ And as always I bow to your divine wisdom....any chance 4 of those drop tonight?
MVB
Feb 10, 2006, @ 07:42 PM
Haha, what I forsee us doing is assigning first scarab to me, first bulwark to Gadi, then going down the ladder. Best guess puts the next 2 (bulwark/scarab) to you and belhop, so I don't think you'll have to wait too long.
It equates to jumping from greens to tier 2 (well, it literally is).
See Demon's blood + Force of Will as your Tier "1" set. You already managed to get Ony ahead of Force. Getting Styleen's ahead of it is probably a little unfair to those who have no other trinket upgrades but Styleen's to still acquire.

Hatchetface is currently on that BRD quest--what a coinkydink! Poindexter, however, will never see the inside of Blackrock Mountain.
Our master looter had to go to bed (curfew sucks!) last night before we killed Shazzrah and left it on FFA!

You keep saying that but I don't believe ya, we will convince to finish you alliance toon!
Btw it took me forever to do the Emp 5 man because I could never find a mage who like to AE they always tried using Blizzard which never worked out.
Now that I am HotC I have 4 manned the Emp with a pally healing, still the funnest thing I have done in game.

I took a night off from PvPing (way back in November) to complete all the BRD quests--had a great group (rogue, mage, warlock and priest) and did EVERYTHING...even the jailbreak and ended the night with the coffer fight. It was a 5 hour ordeal that ended in tears when Thrall informed me I had to go back for the Princess.
The only other PvE quests I've done since then were the Onyxia quests. I really have no clue what it takes to kill the Emperor and rescue the Princess. Maybe I'll find out this weekend. I'd also like to score a HoJ from Anvilcrack. And I guess it's time to farm for FR gear. Incendius run, anyone? Thanks for giving me a raison d'etre! Goodbye, Poindexter, hello again, Hatchetface!
P.S. I wouldn't level a Paladin to 60 for all the Compendiums of Dragonslaying in the world. Only Horde toons will make it that far (Horde forever, Alliance never--which is why I chose a Paladin in the first place) and it's gonna be a Druid. /rawr
Edit: OMG--I didn't mention PvP once--what's happening to me?!
Edit 2: Duh--yes, I did. Crisis over.

If it's that easy, why does everyone piss and moan about doing it? And OFFTANK? Are you suggesting that a WARLORD can't MT BRD???

No no hatchet....
People bitch and moan because you have to go through the lyceum in which packs of 10 panzy dwarves respawn every like 30 seconds so you can't stop moving. The whole point of the lyceum is to kill 2 flame carriers and take their torches and light a couple of fires. Basically start going left and let a mage AE the hell out of everything while you whirlwind, sweeping strikes, cleave everything.
Once you get to the Emp, you have to fight the Emp and the Princess, the Princess can't die but she will heal the Emp so someone must OT the princess away from the Emp while everyone else ganks the Emp. The End. We did it last night in 40 minutes...oh wait we had 9 ppl.
Hatchetface
Feb 10, 2006, @ 08:53 PM
Wouldn't it be better for me to tank the Emperor and have the Rogue OTing the Princess and kicking her everytime she tries to heal while I Mortal Strike him in case a heal gets through?
Sounds fun. Can't wait.

It is a whateva floats your boat. We usually have a hunter and pet OT the princess.
