View Full Version : 2/6 Monday Vael try tonight

First off, let me say, PvP was fun yesterday, and it was fun even without the help of alliance fux ups. Why do I say that? Yesterday we go up against Hatchet, and before the game even starts people are joining raid then leaving the game because they see the competition. People like this are pussies in my book. Just stay and fight, you are in AB you will get honor one way or another.
However, yesterday was a turning point in my eyes. Yesterday even without a full compliment of HotC players we were finally able to give that evil evil group a run for their money. Ya the 2nd game (I was in) was more PuG for Hatchet and Co. but that wasn't the point. A little more practice and we will be able to take them, I can feel it.
Btw Hatchet, please tell Azazle that I don't use a shield. It just so happens my new hammer wroks!
I am with Lard, I think the next AB weekend I may respec arms/fury just for the hell of it, or at least use Bel's spec, before respec'ing back to prot for the raid week. There is no reason why I should be anywhere near the top of the KB list each game but somehow I am. I owe alot of that to my healbots.... Speaking of which, Lard maybe replacing Waib as my personal bot, well at least until Waib decides to start ABing again.
So, I owe Lard 400 carcapaces. Yes, Telva had a bunch of trash in his bags when he was deputized and didn't get the seal the first time. I of course blame cammy for this because Cammy couldn't buy a roll on the crap we were finding. I wish the bugs dropped cash to make the farming more worth while, but it is a welcome relief from killing furblogs all day. So if anyone wants to kill bugs, let me know because I can pick up their sweet loot now.
Another first for me over the weekend, I solo'd Inced. Duane wanted me to make some DI shoulders (presumably for Htank) so rather than wait for Duane to relog, I gave it a shot. He really wasn't that hard, but I will admit I popped a GFPP which basically allowed me to get him to 50% before he could actually hurt me.
Btw, have I mention that I love my new hammer? I will not trade it for the world, well at least if I am tanking. I am sure there is a better DPS weapon out there, but for now I am very very content. The fact that Telva can reach the top 5 of the DPS charts during a farm run says it all. So once again I would like to thank Mike for the assignment, especially his ML skill for timing my disconnects. Btw, if anyone would like to blitz living Strat so I can pick up a couple of orbs I would much appreciate it.
So tonight we kill Vael. Noticed I didn't say try to kill Vael I said kill Vael. We had our share of bad luck and screw ups. Tonight we get er done. Actually, I hear there may be some pretty interesting ideas on getting this done. It will be fun to see them practiced, yes I said practiced, and find out whether they actually work.
My parting question is this, when (notice more positive attitude) we kill Vael will we be pressing onto teh Broodlord, or will we be calling it quits?
Finally, grats to the Steelers fans (sorry Crystar). They played a great game from the 5 secs snippets I saw of the game, and Seattle made too many costly mistakes. Ya they got screwed on the one touchdown, but who doesn't think Pitt doesn't score on the very next play?

I claim a moral victory at the mill even if we fell for the feint when Hatchet slid it in the backdoor. Classy emote, Hatchet :) Props to our mage-heavy minigroup of 5 that took the mill.
I tried to send Hatchet over the edge to his sweet boney demise with mind control at the end there right before we got our loser medals but either one of his alert teammates broke the channel by blasting me or he got lucky, I might be wrong but it seems he's sporting a little shadow resist these days (your priest knows the difference).
We like a challenge but we also like a horde PUG now and again to keep the morale up.

Ya having the PuG in between Hatchet groups was a relief. We were also lucky because our PuG was full of whiners. It seems everyone wants to be a leader. Even if you spam the strat 100x someone will undoubtedly try and spam a different strat and cause confusion.
Something else that is weird, even though we have 1+ hour wait times, you would think that our teams would fill up right from the beginning. However, all 3 games we started short of players.
Also, I think I learned something about group make up. Not that I will devulge it hear for Hatchet to laugh at me about, but I will admit to only putting HotC people in certain groups. From now on, I will rearrange the groups as needed while we wait to start. I haven't been doing this and it is obviously hurting us.

Oh come on! Where are you people! It is 930 am and only 2 people have posted. We need more activity here or I will actually accomplish something at work!

Will of the Forsaken breaks Mind Control, Lardgibs--I saved myself from taking a leap off the cliff. :P
And yes, those were thrilling matches--the best all day. And yes, we had to pull out all the stops and get all tricky/sneaky on ya to win the second one. Good times!
Sadly, that will most likely be the last time I see you guys in Arathi Basin--at least with that team. We're all burnt out and, hopefully, we'll be getting the ranks we desire on Tuesday. The only battleground I'll be stepping into on a regular basis from now on is Alterac Valley.
Six Feet Under PvPs on Wednesday nights--maybe we can set something up on those nights, if it's an off night for you guys.
Thanks for all the fun (and all the laughs at the Mine yesterday--who knew sheeps could wallwalk!? Baaaaaa).

OMIGOD--yes, it's very important to have balanced groups attacking nodes and/or grouping those on teamspeak together.
And P.S. I'd rather have long wait times. Playing back to back to back is very trying. Also, I'm broke. Farming/resting up between matches would be more fun, I'm thinking. As it is, I don't even have time to run to the potty between games!

I thought you were switching to Tuesday night PvPing with SFU, and doing Ony on Wednesdays?
Sadly I don't see us ever having a night off on Wednesday's especially if we move BWL back to Wed (here me hoping :) ).
My problem with AV is that it takes way too long to finish. I have a blast there but in order to get the full honor you could spend a couple of hours in there, and I just don't want to devote that much time.
Btw, you better keep doing AB, just don't queue everyday :p

Ugh--you're right...Onyxia is on Wednesdays now. PvP on Tuesday. I won't be PvPing this Tuesday, however--I'll need a break. I don't even know if I'll have enough gold to buy the armor pieces if I rank up! How sad is that??
And I'll only go to Arathi Basin w/ the guild or if BC begs--there's no point in going, otherwise...I'm exalted and it's not fun anymore.
AV doesn't have to take a long time--especially if both sides avoid the zerg and complete the objectives. I try to stay far away from the Field of Strife. In fact, I try to stay as far away from Alliance players as possible until we get to Dun Baldar (unless I'm defending our Captain, which is pretty fun, actually).

Why are you tired? Did you stay up too late playing on Dark Iron?
I hit a wall at 9:50 after completing one quest on my rogue and said screw, and went to bed. Ya I am old so forgive me. I did get so more bars closer to 40, at this rate I will be 40 by my birthday in October.

All you suckers are at work..
When we get Vael on the first try, I dont see why we cant make a run to Broody.
I guess we will have to see what the bosses say.
I am currently watching Higglytown Heroes, and grinding my mage. Wha? you dont know what Higglytown Heroes is....man you are missing out.

Meh, I had game crashes left and right all weekend....:( I didnt want to log on Dalaran Ony raid dropped 3 times in a row...right before Phase 3 I dropped too I was afraid I was gonna get punted into the whelps
Fucking Critical errors...I reinstalled the game on Sunday dumped the WTF and WDB folder and it seemed to be better sunday night...by Sunday night i'm sorry if I sounded rude but constant crashing had completely pissed me off....Saturday night I got to play some and the Server crashed...Sunday was laggy as hell then I went to go gank on Dark Iron and it Lagged like a SOAB there too :(
I just couldnt win Saturday/Sunday
I just hope the games reliable enough to play
And sorry for cussing while your mom was around Telva ^_^

Feb 6, 2006, @ 04:39 PM
No problem Waib, you had no idea, and I thought it was rather funny. My mom is weird in that she doesn't like people cussing but then she does it herself. She is a great lady at heart but sometimes her actions really do cancel out the way she feels.
As for you Nief, what exactly are you doing up at 730 in the morning. I realize you have a baby and all, but get some damn sleep!
Let me know when your mage is ready for SM, my rogue is ready to get some phat loot in there especially the dagger Doan drops.
Don't worry Waib, shit happens to us all. It happened to me before I wiped CTraid and reinstalled it, maybe you should give it a try especially with the most up to date version. I would hate for you to miss out on owning Vael tonight.

Feb 6, 2006, @ 05:59 PM
No they actually don't say a thing, they just afk out. It flat out sucks because it is hard enough going against ya when we have 15 but when we start 10vs15 it is impossible. I will say it was refreshing to hear a couple that recognized ya and knew where you were going to hit, which is of course why we got the Mill.
And ya, people know ya from Azazle, but I still call it Hatchet's group. Nothing is funner, than to announce ot the raid .... "KILL HATCHET!"
MVB
Feb 6, 2006, @ 06:02 PM
Why is it these conversations always turn to one liners about the oddities of pvp?
telva
Feb 6, 2006, @ 06:17 PM
Because no one rolls with the other crap I spew. Hatchet only knows us from PvPing, well he knows Waib and Eve from elsewhere. Waib can barely string 3 words together when not tired. And Zeph, well she is just getting used to this trolling thing.
So I will ask a question, I believe the AQ opening will take place in March no matter what, correct? Will this date be announced, so people can be around for the opening? (I am still assuming the horde won't get their stuff in for the war effort)
MVB

Well crappola, I might be stuck in Australia (or a flight to Australia) then. That kind of sucks a big one.
Oh btw, I guess I can tell ya here, I will be out of commission most of April, because of a business trip I have to make to Amberley. I will be gone for 3 weeks with no game access. I hope to be able to troll though.

PvE = ZZZ. Start summoning my level 2 paladin to BWL and I'll get chatty as all get out about it. ;)
I'm only retiring from the nightly grind. You'll still have plenty of opportunities to kill me (I feel a "Hatchet is a Warlord--let's go camp the Elwynn Forest Tower" campaign coming on) as I'll be raiding your towns and outposts and cites with other honor system graduates.
And when are you guys gonna pay a visit to the Undercity? I got everyone all excited and then...POW! BANG! BOOM!...nothin'. Why you teasin' us?

I'll visit the undercity if you can spare my purpled up ass the heavy bill at the spirit healer, when playtime is over. How do I know that even a warlord can't pull that one off.

I think if a Hordie casts a spell or lands a blow on ya, you avoid the heavy PvE repair bill and get a discounted PvP bill so, step right up for some Mortal Strikes!
And we could always try coordinating a HotC vs. SFU Alterac Valley rumble on a night neither guild is running a raid.

Hatchet ... he is implying that when we finally die inside the royal hall, we then have to spirit res or get ganked fittybillion times trying to get out.
The spirit res is extremely costly for us epic'ed out folks regardless of the cost for the actual death.

You are the last person I target (unless, of course, I'm trying to keep your attention on me while a friendly friend caps the node you've turned your back to or we're in WSG and you have the flag). PvP tanking, for the win. In those cases, I've definitely used MS on you.
Healers, Hunters, and Rogues are all at the top of my "hate" list--they're the ones that target my squishies. You get saved for last--when your support is dead and mine lives and we can all FF you. At that point, I don't need Mortal Strike--just hamstring and execute.

actually, when you discard that, and are willing to martyr yourself for the cause, then, you win.
