recced = recommended; to be a full member of TLSC, and not just a member of the guild, you need 2 reccs from current full members ... (except in our larger divisions, where you need 3 reccs usually) ... it's a way of making sure most of tlsc is comprised of cool cats

i have mono and feel like shit, and your welcome post would suck if i tried it right now; angel, would you mind makingni f official

i fear if i tried to change status on someone, i'd crash teh boards

You have enough recs now - including a rec from the Boss Man himself :). You're membership status has been changed to level 3b, so you can now view most of the private forums.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM Stealth or MVB either through the forum's message system or by email/MSN/AIM. If you have any ideas, recommendations, or games you think TLSC should expand into, please use the Members Voice! forum located here: http://www.tlsconline.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18

Speaking of MSN, most members of TLSC have put their MSN addresses in a master-list of sorts for easy communication, which can be found in this thread: http://www.tlsconline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53.

Forum activity is a must! Not just to get to know your fellow Lone Stars, but to keep up-to-date on all current events as well.

We occassionally have meetings which everyone is welcome to attend, and they will be announced ahead of time here.

Welcome to the Lone Star Command! Enjoy your stay.

Dude how can you bust on WOW with Eve? All the reviews i read said it's a pretty terrible MMO, So bad you can now download the game for free just so they can get the Subscription money.
While WOW is being haroled as the best MMO ever.

Tell me what makes WoW differ from the dozens of mmorpgs that came before it.

Better graphics?
Cause its the same elves and orcs shit thats been done many, many times before.

Well WOW does have your orcs D and D thing but in a much funnier interesting way. My wife Playes EQII and thats D and D on steroids. I'm not a D and D person. My favoirte MMo's have been SWG and COH, But SWG sufferd from lack of content. And waaayy too much grind. COH is fun but too repetitive. WOW seems to take the best of all of them into one game. Where you never feel like your grinding just to make the next leval. Most of the time your doing interesting and different quests that keep you inthralled in the game. Then all of a sudden your like "oh crap i levaled" And the world is expansive and beautifle. Also NO LOAD TIMES! how awsome is that. First MMO that i click on the icon on my desktop and i'm playing in the world in less that 10 seconds. (that includeing time to type in my log on)
Also it doesnet force you to play every day like the other MMO's, No matinance or crap like that to do. It's awsome just simply awsome.
I tried eve. It was dull and seemd like the old trade wars with better grafics.

good point, the no load time is innovative.

I agree that WoW is highly derivative, but that makes it mature in that it has taken the best of non MMO genres. Neverwinter Nights, which I only did single player, really was groundbreaking in interface, gameplay, and content but had many alarming flaws technologically. WoW is just as if not more fun because of the greater freedom to complete tasks/quests out of order, or not at all.

One of the things that the uberRPG nerds invested who knows how much crude backdoor hacking just so they could use it in NwN roleplay was robes, and horses. I have to laugh when I see a level 40 dude who just got his first horse running around like a nut and jumping over stuff. Or when a warlock cruises by with his succubus and it leers at you.

It all depends what you think is fun, the basic gratification is getting cool magic/other items, or making them, or making them and trading them, etc. WoW is my first MMOG so I don't know how innovative it is, but the crafting I think is particularly well done. Also you can indulge your vanity by silly emoticon type animations and changing your clothes around.

WoW isn't perfect, but it seems like there are ways to customize the GUI and write your own macros so who knows what we can figure out.
As far as graphics go; they're slightly stylistic and cartoonish, which is consistent with the WarCraft property, but I am omfg blown away by the sheer level of 'geometry' inherent in the game (4CD's I guess) making for landscapes, structures, ... although my videocard might be rendering all the way to the horizon, I dunno.

It'd be funny to visit though, even to confirm your fagosexual suspicions, when you see a gnome dancing...

Dude, stop busting on the guy in his app thread. He's a cool fella, we enjoy gaming with him in WoW. He's in. 'Nuff said. Ya'll don't have to like WoW, and he doesn't have to like EvE. At least he's played both, and at least Drunk's somewhat played WoW and plenty of Eve.
