View Full Version : Just Another Face in the Crowd

That's right, my fellow heroes, Evelynn has finally ceased the selfish ways of the feral druid and invested her points into something more in the interest of the guild.

The past two weeks have been a blast. I pursued a passion I'd long harbored, I buffed my bear beyond what I thought was possible, and I tanked every instance short of Molten Core (and even a Corehound in MC). I proved to myself what I was capable of, and I hope that the praise I received as a tank was genuine, and that I proved something to the rest of Dalaran, as well.

I leave behind my passion now to pursue the passion of the guild as a whole. I admit I'm sad to lose what I had, and I won't say that I don't hope to return to my feral spec with more support someday, but for now, I hope the new Restoration Evelynn contributes to hotc's success as Feral Evelynn was unable to.

I apologize for anyone who wasted their time reading this. I guess I just needed to get these feelings of sadness off my chest, so that I can move forward.

Eve, I must say, I am now sad in the pants. Not that I think you are a bad healer or anything, but it was nice having someone different running around. However, if this is what you want to do, gofer it! Enjoy it! And as always HEAL SIR TELVA!

and as you know me Evelynn, I'm quite sad to hear this, but this was your decision and as always you'll know I respect it /Hug :)

does that mean I don't have to heal anymore? /Hug J/p :) You can still be my sexay bear tank even if you're not feral :)

Evelynn, you will go from a good healer to a stellar one, if I don't miss my guess. In terms of raiding, you just went from "ok" to "wow." Pun intended I guess.

Good luck with the new spec, and let's see if you enjoy it :) I'm sure your fellows will enjoy the extra health they persist with as a result.

Respeccing resto probably means I'll retire from WSG.

As I said, I'm sad too, but I feel it was something that had to be done, as I came in as a feral thinking everyone else could make up for my mediocrity, and can no longer sit back and burden the raid without guilt.

But I went from a "wow" tank (according to some, anyway) to a pretty crappy one, so it's not like I didn't give anything up ;)

In a raiding sense, we try to balance at 5 of each class per raid. While I'm sure you've got the skills to tank some of the mobs in end-game content that are tankable by Druids (anything that does no physical dmg, since druids can't negate crits effectively from physical attackers), doing so leaves just 4 druids doing their balanced-for-the-raid-based role.

Not trying to belabor the point, the fact that you respecced shows you have a firm grasp and quick realisation of the realities of filling your class role in raids, and I am VERY impressed, not just at the respec, but at your gumption and the speed with which you have cemented yourself as a stellar example of a Hero of HotC.

Yeah, but I'm really going to miss being feral...alot. Maybe it only goes to further prove my noobishness, but it meant the world to me to see everyone in my group with the bull's-head icon that meant they were all getting an extra 3% crit...and to charge into a group of 4+ Dark Irons and hold that aggro until the last fell :/ It was fun. Probably too much fun.

If it's any consolation Eve:

I really really enjoyed shadow. It's more fun. However, to carry us to Nef farming I knew it wouldn't cut it, and I wanted that more. We'll both spec back for fun i'm sure when it's time to take a break, and keep bidding on that feral gear.

Ah...but this will be incentive for you to level up an alt drood who can be feral! On the priest forums on WoW there's a lot of people who have two 60 Priests - one is shadow and one is disc/holy.

If I was to level an alt, it would be Evelynn who went feral, and this alt who became resto. Evelynn will always be a feral at heart, so I just can't see it any other way :P

Honestly if you like doing lots of dmg and occasionally tanking, level a warrior alt and spec him fury. Fury warriors tank lower easy dungeons like BRD just fine, and put out obscene levels of single target dmg.

Tried that. While I enjoy the tanking aspect of a druid the most, I can never get over losing the versatility...as a warrior, I often forgot that I couldn't heal myself, and the results were quite abyssmal.

I'm just a druid at heart, I guess. I've rolled other classes, played em to 40 and beyond, but a druid is the one that stuck on me. It's just my style.

If I do, it'll be a Tauren. I'm doing my part to help keep Dalaran's Nelf population spayed and neutered. ;)

(Actually, I have a level 1 female Tauren Druid named Milkmaker--but I don't know if I'd want to level something named that.)

I think they should let Rogues roll druids. They would be the stealthiest woodsmen ever being that tiny and wearing Cenarion gear.

Pallies are the best class. Nuff said.

If you wanna talk versitality, pally wins hands down. Druid can do one role extremely well if properly geared and specd, but that's it, only that one role at a time. Pallies can do whatever they want, whenever.

Btw, I get chuckle out of the people that say pallies can't do DPS.
I've even gotten to the point where I outdamage cyberion and blacksoul in our ZG runs (number 1 damage). And I still have quite a bit of blues and my weapon is nowhere near the best.

Oops, offtopic. Hahahahahah

The day I reroll a paladin is the day every other class in this game is deleted.
