I am proud of HotC! We killed the broodlord in 3 tries last time, and none of our attempts on him where disasterous wipes. The only hiccup was getting to him the first time. What really impressed me was the hiccup that caused the first wipe happened again on our final attempt. Yet the final time we learned and adapted and we lived and kicked that bastard's ass.

But man am I tired. WoWing till midnight stacked upon my first soccer game in like 4 months stacked upon a sugar rush has me hurting this morning. It took me forever to fall asleep last night due to the sugar and adrenaline rush I was having. But let me tell ya, it was well worth it.

As discussed in TS last night, BWL is 100x better than MC, and I still love MC. Sure it might be the newness of BWL, but the thing about BWL so far is that everything is different. Even the trash mobs vary alot between room to room. MCs problem to me is that the developers seemed to have rushed its design sort of like it was an after thought in the original release. There is a limited number of trash types and the look and feel is all the same. BWL on the other hand seemed to have some brains behind it. They took their time to be creative and challenging. I would say I am willing to quit going to MC, but Rags has a pair of pants I would like to wear in the very near future.

So tonight we are going after Firemaw and whomever else we have time for. I have no idea what these guys are like except that the goblins throw dynamite and they also drop elementium ore. I hope all the ore is taken and saved for everyone's thunderfury. Then again Gadi probably needs another 60 arcanite bars before he can actually get it. Oh ya and the other half of the bindings......I guess the good thing is that I will hopefully learn to smelt a new type of ore tonight. Btw, what piece of the set does Firemaw drop?

Lastly, I think I have resigned myself to never making it to Knight. Ya its only rank 6, but I just don't have the time to get there. I am not going to stop PvPing, but I just don't have the desire to play every moment of my weekend to get it up. Then again the queues seem to be shorter on non-AV weekends so......

Btw, Hatchet, we finally played you guys reasonably tough Friday night. I had never been involved in an hour long WSG especially against you guys. Sure you ended up beating us (3-0 IIRC) but HotC pulled our crap together and at least made a game of it.

Ok, enough rambling. It is raining here today so after work I get to take a nice needed nap. I hope everyone else gets to do the same because it is going to be another long night.

Naps after Humantities and Mythology = teh win. Now, if only I hadn't neglected to write what I was supposed to write for english class. Oh well, I can come up with something mildly convincing in an hour and a half.

Yes, indeed--that was a fun match! Apparently, Waibanez doesn't forward my messages to you guys! :( Grrr.

And sorry to hear that you're semi-retiring/giving up on rank 6. Just queue for one more week...pretty please?!

And grats on yet another big, bad boss kill. You guys are ahead of PRG! Sweet!

QFT.

I am dead. I got in late to work, no biggy but still.

Broodlord fight was fun, and yes the designers here did a fantastic job. This is what I'd expect from an Online RPG, the dungeon crawling. There's Traps, Danger and a price at the end. Is lovely :D

BTW listen to the MC rap, it's teh funneh.

Don't worry I will continue to queue on non-raid nights. I just don't have enough time to try and achieve ranks with all the raiding we are doing and RL events. I like PvP because it breaks up the farming and I need so much dense stone these days it is becoming pathetic. Between keeping the rogues and Gadi stoned, plus making arrows for Thibz, Zeph, and I, stone farming is becoming a full time job. On top of that, it was one of my better money sources, but oh well, successfully killing bosses in BWL is well well worth it.

Plus, I wanna give more attention to my rogue. I have 25 levels to go, and once I make it to 40 it is smooth sailing from there. I just hate the grind between 30 and 40. Hopefully tomorrow we can twink Gnomer and SM!

Get to honored with your Alterac Valley faction and you won't have to make arrows anymore--the vendor sells frost tipped arrows that are better than thorium headed ones.

Get to honored with AV....do you realize how long that would take? Especially since I have no idea how to gain faction with them.....fast anyway. I like AV, but not enough to continually do it. Saturday morning, I got in a decent group where we actually used parties to kill the NPCs in a planned manner. It was actually fun, but frustrating because I spent alot of time and got very few HKs and even less honor because I couldn't stay to the end.

Negative, Frost Arrows are not better then Thorium heads.

It doesn't take long at all--I promise. I've only been in three winning matches. You gain rep when:

a) you (or people from your side) turn in armor scraps, blood and various Horde bits to the questgivers in your base.
b) you (or people from your side) complete any quests (take over a mine, assault a graveyard, assault a bunker, tame the rams, kill frostwolves, kill the general, etc).
c) kill named NPCs that have a rank.
d) win or lose a match (I've only stayed to the end of 4 matches. You get credit for whatever nodes your side controls at the end--even if you lose).

AV is for rep farming--not honor. Don't get discouraged! Plus, it's really, really neat. But yeah, I wish they'd buff the honor gains you get from AV--it deserves to be played more.

I guess the real problem is that I never stay to the end. Even the match where we were guaranteed victory I left early just because it takes so long. Like I said, maybe I will come back to it at some point, but my rogue is feeling ignored and Belhop just sent her a sweet mace.

Fine! Just as long as you promise to come play hide-and-seek with me if we're both in there.

(I usually play defense--cos no one else will--so look for me in the Iceblood Garrison, defending the Captain).

telva

Actually that is where I spent the entirety of Saturday morning. We were ganking on the Captain, get him to about 10% and then the horde would finally understand what we were doing and screw everything up. We repeated this process about 5 times before he died I think.

I will play hide-and-seek with you in AB, WSG....AV I think I am retiring from.

I'm exalted with the Defilers and will be exalted with the Warsong Outriders tonight. Once I graduate from the honor system, I'll be retiring from those battlegrounds and playing exclusively in Alterac Valley. :(

Maybe we can arrange a SFU vs. HotC AV scrimmage one off-night in the future?

We're looking forward to a rumble in the Undercity, too!

I met Hatchetface finally! Of course, it when I joined an "in progress" Arathi. When I joined the PUG, Hatchet's gang had 4 nodes and a 700 resource lead. So I farmed HK. Sad, but I didn't see any other thing to do with a PUG like that.

I have to say, PvP is kinda fun. And when you are low-ranked, my god you get Honor fast. I'm even starting to get the hang of some of the basics (you'll laugh, but I had to remember to go buy that little trinket thing - handy little item).

I won't be decent before you've retired, but hopefully I'll catch you once or twice more before you move on . . .

I noticed that there is a horde-controlled relatively civillian free outpost in the marsh north of the Blasted Lands.

I also always wondered how the Hordies felt about defending a wall like that in Northern Barrens.

Food for thought ;)

Telva, I'm with you on the whole "gotta leave because this thing is becoming too late for me to stay up for"...I'm afraid that due to the lateness of the raids during the week AND the persistent personal bashing I took last night from several people and on many fronts (am NOT going into it now, still too upset about it), I'll be taking a hiatus from raiding, myself. I'm sure there are eleventy billion rogues who would love my spot.

All the purplez in the world aren't worth it to me for getting so upset over a game. And no one in this guild should ever feel like crap for an unintentional mistake, nor be treated thusly. BAH! Not going into it...not going into it.

I cannot continue to justify staying up to midnight or later (as was the case last Wednesday), to get 3 hours of sleep before an 18 hour day, and allow my work and school to suffer. If I had known that last night's raid was gonna be 5 hours, I might have bowed out early myself. I thought congregating at 7pm would have ensured us a nice exit by 10ish. My bad.

Sorry, folks. I'm really grumpy today (4 hours of sleep will do that, y'know), and well...I apologize for using this thread as an outlet. If you want me to delete it, I will. Just wanted you to know that the raid time thing affects a lot of us.

telva
Jan 23, 2006, @ 04:18 PM
Hey don't sweat it Leri. I think it took longer than everyone expected, I know I didn't think I would be up till midnight. However, it is the choice we must make if we plan on doing this sort of thing in the future. Unfortunately do to time constraints on MC, BWL will probably take place on work nights for a while.

On the whole didn't see DPS thing, don't let it get you down. It happens to the best of us and the worst of us....wait I was informed last night it hasn't happened to Belhop yet, but his day is coming. One thing I have learned is that everyone in this guild is very competitive when it comes to conquering new things and so we sometimes over do it when trying to correct them. So you probably got PST bombed by everyone and their mother, don't take it personally, it is just the way things go during intense runs. So smile, and if you decide you want to take a break from BWL nights, go for it, but you will be missing out on a lot of phat fun!.

Thibor

I could use a Screwdriver Right now, Grey Goose and Tropicana w/ Pulp

telva
Jan 23, 2006, @ 04:26 PM
Wouldn't that just put you to sleep? I think I am going to try and go sober for the week. I think it might help me sleep better and longer especially come Friday night (there is no way in hell this is gonna work).

Also, Hatchet fear us now! Waib has a new hammer to hit you with. I will let him link it for ya, but man it is sweet. If I cared enough about PvP, I would have rolled on it myself. But it would have been a huge waste of points, and I really want my pants.

Btw, no one has mentioned what set piece the 'maw drops.

Also, WTF is Waib? It's 1030 and no sign of his existance. I guess his lack of sleep over the weekend finally caught up to him.

MVB
Jan 23, 2006, @ 04:27 PM
While most of this should stay private, I'd like to make a point right now that it is NO ONE's responsibility to verbally assualt someone for a mistake over PST. At the most, Lardgibs/Mike/Wislok as the gm's and rogue officer had any right to point out the mistake to leri, and no one had a right to give her a hard time. Learn some f*@#%ing manners people.

Healers make me see red! Did I greet you with a hearty hello? Or just charge and Mortal Strike? So rude.

And I'm sure I'll make cameo appearances in AB and WSG with SFU from time to time--or other nights, if someone makes a special request. I'll just be retiring from the nightly grind.

One more week!

Well if those packs respawn and continue dropping that hammer at the same rate, then everyone in the raid will have one of those hammers in a couple of months. I don't mean everyone that could use it, I mean everyone in the raid!.

Despite not even rostering for BWL and being completely unprepared when I was called upon to fill in for Ali, I did manage to have loads of fun. It was a bit overwhelming at first, for a druid who's only been through the first two bosses of MC, so I hope I didn't bring the raid down with my limited experience and feralnoobness. It definitely was an honor being present at our first Broodlord kill, and I was very proud of the entire guild and how quickly we adapted to kick some butt.

Waib - twink my a$$ through ST! Finnion/Freyja and others tried to do it last weekend (thank you guys - you're the best!!) but we never got to Morphaz. I really need this tardo.

Telva - thank you for the kind words. Yah...I made a mistake with my dps, though fortunately didn't gain aggro or wipe the group. I did get pst bombed like you said. I also apologized. Meh. Loot isn't very important to me (just look at my gear!), so I'm not worried about what I'll miss out on in that arena. I've already gotten a lot from HotC, like a molten helm and a lava belt. I think I've hit my quota.

I think I'm just gonna concentrate on getting this Priestess to 60; I am looking forward to BRD/UBRS/Scholo/Strat/DM/etc. I'll see what I can do about getting her FR gear up. Or maybe I just need a break.

telva

I am sure Jusfine will twink you through ST because he wants a ring that drops off of Morphaz. Problem for me is finding time to twink you, let alone get my alt twinked.

With raids schedule today, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, it only leaves Tuesday. However I must farm more dense stone for Sharpening stones and to make some nifty arrows. Oh well, a busy life keeps me from doing other horrible things.

Does the Gieco save 20% by staying at Holiday Inn Express after Thibz has let his sliders slide out in an imaginative way?

I swear, you're a pain in the keister, Waib. If you won't twink me through ST, then help Eira and Blackravyn with the jailbreak quest. We both have the crumpled note. AND we have to get the core fragment. AND other quests. Woot! I'm gonna try to get Zephy to help. Maybe this weekend.

I want to get this toon to 60. Really badly.

Sorry Nief, when I get home I am more than likely taking a nap. Though if I decide to stick it out, can you find a couple of souls to run us through gnomer before BWL? Ok, I can probably make it home by 415 server time. If you have found said souls by then, please post here before 300pm server time and I will skip the afformentioned nap and we can twink through gnomer. I assume 2-3 60's could rip through gnomer that fast.
