12/26 Topic- Nexxus farming

Lately, in anticipation of the new patch, I have been doing quite a few PUG's and bringing along a stack of Large brilliant shards with me bought from the AH. I've been doing this with the intent of collecting all the LVL 52 and above Blues that I can. So when the patch hits I can DE them in hopes of getting a few Nexxus. Since I know I'll at least get a another LBS for the one I traded or swapped if one Nexxus drops then it would be worth the trouble. I actually see an increase of Farming for shards to increase with many new enchanter swapping their old professions for this one. The Nexxus shards will be pretty wildly priced at the AH but it will probably settle around 100-150g if enough blues farming is done on the server if no farming is happening then the prices will probably be around 500g to a 1000g.

So the question of the day, would you swap out a relatively easily built prof for a chance to DE farm for Nexxus shard if the price in AH remains High?

Just a note: I have on several occasions had a LBS drop from a lvl52 green before so I know it isn't too far fetched.

luckily my up coming mage is a enchanter so this is a benefit for me and all other enchanters

i wouldn't mind farming an hour or 2 for blues(i perfer DM for book drops)and even more hours if we decide to do DM

i can also use some money cause i am quite poor myself but if we can get something going i would be up for it for a few hours

I have been reading the Test realm forums, and ran across a few threads on Nexxus shards.

Seems like the drop rate from high level blue disenchants is *very* low in the current Test patch.

That may change, or we may be a lot less likely to bank unclaimed epics in MC after 1.9 and instead d/e them for their Nexxus yielding potential.

I am so geeked up for some of the new enchants that require a Nexxus Crystal that I have my Robe of the Void in the bank.

I am seriously considering dropping herbalism D/E the robe and get my herbalism back in a day or so.
