So rather than wait for Shadrin, I figured I would go ahead and start the thread. Today is a big day for Shad because tomorrow Shad will no longer have to go to HS. The threat of the real world looms around the corner. How will Shad handle this? hrmmmm......
On a happier thought, Christmas is only 5 days away. Unlike when I was a kid, I am much more into the giving mode than I am into the receiving mode. I am single and almost rolling in the dough so I pretty much by myself whatever I want, so when it comes to Xmas I try to do the same for other ppl since I am a bitch to buy for. This year, I started branching out on what I am getting people. Sure it isn't a big leap because I still bought my brother and his wife the usual crap (a sweater for him, and a couple of adult board games for the both of them) however I bought their two oldest sons sleeping bags rather than toys. Why? Because they have too many toys as it is now.
The gift I am proudest of, but am scarediest of, is the tickets to "Cats" I bought my mom. She enjoys going to this sort of thing and it isn't the typical gift I give on Xmas. I am usually an electronics or gadget giver (along with my mom, I got my dad an LCD monitor). What really scares me is that my dad isn't going to want to go and I will get stuck having to go. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind going to see "Cats" but not with my mom. You take girlfriends/fiancees/wives to musicals because it almost guarantees you action when you get home.
On that note, and the original purpose of this post, what did you ask for for Christmas (or whichever holiday you observe)? Me, I asked for 3 things:
a Ladder - a homeowner without a ladder is powerless especially when your home has 20+ft ceilings in some rooms.
a thumbdrive - I used to hate the thought of them, but now that I sometimes take work home with me, I don't know how I am living without one.
a CD Player - I need one for my entertainment center. My DVD player can play CDs but it can't read burned CDs. Since 90% of my CDs are bootleg U2 concerts the DVD player isn't doing me any good.
Yep I only asked for 3 things, and knowing my parents they will probably come through with flying colors.
