But they could do things like slapping economic and political sanctions on rogue states like Iran, that would help greatly. They should put up a united front with the US, instead of cowering behind the UN like pussies. And I include the UK in this as well - we unfortunately do our own fair share of cowering.

thousands of volunteers smuggled themselve to GB to join the allies in WWII
belgians where in korea ,
we where on the front line during the cold war ,
we accepted nukes on our territory ( atm they are still here pointed at russia )
we joined in the first iraq war
we are in afghanistan
our special forces are 100% commited to the US war effort

and i know i can make a list for the netherlands and many other small countries overhere , so before you ll call us pussies THINK

What economic advantages? Britian has earned everything it has... and not buying into the euro is not shurking a responsibility but declining what is supposed to be an advantage.

Dividing europe is the only thing that has kept britian from being conquered over the centuries... the british are masters at it.

Those are states, britian is not anyone's state and retains the power to exit any agreement with the EU.

Neither Hawaii nor Alaska could leave the union if they wanted to.

There is a totally different relationship between states in the united states and various parts of europe to one an another.


Now, one day you might enter into a relationship like the US... but you're not there yet.


Nothing is more likely to make the british show you how far they can seperate themselves from europe then if you tell them they can't do it.

The US is similar in this regard... any relationship where the other side takes our involvement as granted or something they can lean upon... is likely to cause us to pull back.

England had direct threats from german power. The US is not nearly as threatened by anything in the world.

Coming to do what?... to make money?... China is boxed. They have an economic future but not a military one as they're sourounded by powerful states that will not tolerate further expansion.

As to economics... your only problem is your tarrifs... which you could lower without the EU. The US has free trade pacts with canada and mexico without forming some super state. We're also working on expanding the free trade to all of south america.

Consider for a moment how the US is being treated right now? How much have we fought and sacrificed only to be treated as outcasts over a single issue?
