I thought it might be nice to have a discussion about good builds for the different classes in WoW (note: im not talking about the best builds, just good builds :P). Ill edit the good builds u mension here:

Warrior:
31/20/0
5/5/41: pure tanking build

Hunter:

Rogue:
21/8/22 (or 22/8/21 if u like that more): dagger PvP
30/8/13: crit combo points PvP
15/31/5 (or anything else with 31 in combat): other weapons PvP
Note: u can use all the builds with all the different types of weapons, but most rogues choose it this way.

Mage:
20/31/0
20/0/31

Warlock:
31/0/20 (or anything with 31 in affliction): PvE grind build
7/7/37: destruction PvP build.
5/5/41 firlock build

Priest:
15/0/36: shadow (PvP) build
31/20/0: PvE build (20/31/0 is used sometimes too)

Druid:

Shaman:
0/30/21: PvE
0/9/42: healingbot

Note: im just suggesting some good builds i know, im not forcing you to use one of these :P. Maybe your own build is better for your play style

i use the dagger pvp build but i sligtly change it a bit, i do 21/7/23, that mean i get 20 energy discount on CS at the cost of 10 % less chance of crit on BS, 10 % is 1 on 10 BS yes but 20 energy to start with more, and if u time it right u can do CS ad 2 bs be4 he can do shit about it.

The build I'm aiming for at the moment is this:

0/30/21 http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/shaman/talents.html?0000000000000005005230105011025000050 50005050100
Its a strong PvE build, great for grinding solo...

Then there is the Healbot build. This shouldn't be taken up before 55+ since its mainly for lategame instances:

0/9/42 http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/shaman/talents.html?0000000000000005130000000000000000050 55505055151
I know this is almost identical to one on the shaman forums... I found out only after doing this one, and I guess that means it is the most effective :P

For a PvP build you might wanna take the best from each school and combine it. U should have NS and ILHW from resto, improved ghostwolf is also a great talent to have, and from elemental school you need improved shocks and crits and of course Clearcasting. I haven't done a build of this, but I can do one and link it if anyone's interested.

After I get TUF,

Silence n00b, if you want to actually be able to kill anything on your own you can't go Prot :P Prot's just for tanking, and you can tank as well as you need to with 31/5/15. Yes, it's half arsed, but it works AND allows you to PvP.

But I DON'T do PvP... so Tankin' is all I need to do.

when i reach 60 (in 4 lvls) i will be:
16/31/4 (very strange build i know, i've never respecced so ive got some misplaced tallents)
http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/mage/talents.html?0050505100000005005201330231514000000 000000000

when i respec ill be:
21/30/0 (fire mage with PoM)
http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/mage/talents.html?0050505122010005005201330231500000000 000000000

Rubba, when we get to the core, you probably will need to respec. Problem is, everything in the core has such a stupidly large fire resistance, you'll do more damage with frostbolts. And that's not counting the better cast time. Shame, really, but gotta be done. We'll see when we get there, it's a long way off anyway.

Have fun levelling? I got 60 well before I went full protection, Darky. o_O

i wont bother respeccing to frost untill theres a real possibility of us doing the core, i like my fire power too much (+10% extra dmg on every fire spell)

The Dark Messenger
Dec 18, 2005, @ 01:30 PM
Funny thing is, Rubba, frost spec has been proven to be more effective in PvP too :P

You could decide to go for an elementalist spec, but I hear that's for mages with uber gear only.

TooTall
Dec 18, 2005, @ 02:58 PM
Frost spec might be better in PvP. But if some sees a mage he then thinks ahh a frost mages and uses a frost protection pot. Then the mage is fire specced and the pot is useless and the mage still has a good chance to win.

Also fire damage get very well with locks curse that reduces fire resistance

I'm going to respec to a Restoration build (healbot ftw). Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice build? And don't say 0/9/42, go build it in the talent calc and then post it so I can see what actual talents you think I should pick :P

TooTall
Jan 3, 2006, @ 11:15 PM
My try (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/shaman/talents.html?0000000000000005000000000000000000552 05505055151), this actually gets you to 0/7/44. Ok let me explain why I believe these talents are good and so why I picked them or not.

First of all Ancestral Knowledge: more mana is more heals

Tier 1 Resto:
I picked both for I believe they are both nice, but you can drop one of them, the problem is I don't know which one is better. Tidal Focus keeps you going longer but Imp healing wave is nice if heals are needed fast.

Tier 2:
Totems are very nice but expensive so I would reduce theire cost. Also reducing ankh here 'cause some groups just screw up more then once an hour :p

Tier 3:
Imp lesser healing wave so you can still heal while holding agro, the talent is nice for pvp too :p. And Eventide for it's needed for Mana tide Totem

Tier 4:
I picked Tidal mastery here for two reasons, it seems better then Imp healing stream totem and it also is needed for Nature's Swiftness

Tier 5:
Imp mana tide totem for it is nice to bring other peoples mana back on track and your own a bit too and also needed for mana tide totem. Nature's Swiftness for it is the talents to save someone that is about to die (when you didn't notice or got agro or something) :P

Tier 6:
Purification = better heals so can't be missed on a healing shammy

Tier 7:
Mana Tide totem is the way to keep the your mana and the mana from those around you up during the long fights imo. Nice during boss fights or to get your mana up quickly between normal fights.

The 2 points that I didn't fill in, well I don't know where to put them :P. I've seen some shammies using Ancestral Healing, but I don't think it is worth the points for it only applies on crit heals and only lasts 15 seconds :P. But if other shammies use it, it is more lickly that I'm wrong :P.

Anyway this is my vision on it, best is to do what you like and go check some forums and stuff too. The shammies there are 60 and not 17 like me ^^
