View Full Version : ATTENTION, THE HEXXER MUST DIE
Goenitz

It's about time this fekker bites the dust. He needs to die. We will stain our hands with his hexxer blood.
Really wanna get this sucker down, even if just for the satisfaction and pride from it. It will be a dedicated run to just downing this guy, and people must play their VERY BEST. Half ass play is not tolerated by me and you will be promptly be taken care of. This run will be run and organized by your majesty Goenitz, btw. Don't like my leadage, I'm sorry.
Of course there needs to be enough interest for us to be able to do this.
Post here if you intend to give it your all to this attempt. I am looking for serious people who will play 200% and will follow directions exactly by the note.
Failure is not an option for me. I've been wanting to down this guy for the longest time now and had plans of making my own specific Jindo only raids sometime. I think the time is now. The Future is NOW.
Now, let's see the interest. Post away.

To add to this lets pick a night soon to go to ZG and just go to the Hexxer.
If you go left and cross the river its only a few pulls into his area.
If we down him in one or two tries we can celebrate by farming rep on the bosses we know.

Alright, looks like we have enough interest. I'll fill the remaining spots depending on who's on.
Here's the deal. I want all mana casters to have at least 3 MM potions on them. Whatever. Treat this as the domo fight. This fight is long and if we don't treat this seriously, we will go OOM and die.
3 MM pots.
I will also lead this over the teamspeak server if there is enough interest for me to do this. We will be able to talk about whatever you want as we clear, but when its showtime, I expecet peeps to keep quiet and do their role. I have my ideas as to how we will handle this fight, and my ideas r gud.
Now gentlemen, and gentlewomen. When should we do this? Tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday? And what hour would most be available at?
Speak up so I can designate a date and time.

Given the high interest level for 'The Calling', it might be nice to flog the Hexxer before/after/during.
Maybe a nice solid attempt sometime tomorrow early afternoon? Super late is the other option.

I would say not Sunday unless it is later in the night or early in the morning.
1) Ralex is trying to schedule a couple "The Calling" raids
2) I am being selfish here but I will be gone from 12 server time to about 9.
Monday though I am off all day, but I assume evening would be better for most.
One other note. I read that many people use an MS warrior. One of our current applicants Reyinx still has this build if we have room.
If you need potions get the mats and I can make them for you.

I was told Reyinx is fury.
Yeldarb is available for MORTAL STRIKE ROR but must be summoned.

Sunday night. Late.
We have a proven record of being able to do evening runs. I say we *start* at 10:00 p.m. server time (and I don't mean "log on in Ironforge" - I mean be standing at the gate to Zul Gurub at 10:00 p.m. sharp). We clear straight to Hexxar and be staring at his ugly mug no later than 11:00 p.m. And then hammer him into the ground by 11:10 p.m., or stay as long as it takes.

I was already planning on bringing Yeldarb along to the run. Not only does he have MS, but his dps is incredibly good as well.
I'd like to hear from at last few more peeps when they would think a reasonable time for them would be tho. I'm up for whenever.
Very late sunday is what we have so far.

yes, i am fury, not MS, but thanks for thinking of me Nief. i just posted on the other thread that i'd be down for the Calling run tonight, and it looks like this may be combined with that or directly afterwards...if it is, i'd love to come for this as well if you'll have me.

Yet another excellent write-up:

Until people are really committed to bringing their "A" game, this guy isn't going down. The last run we tried, no matter how many times Goenitz explained the fight, there were always 10-12 shades running around. I'm not sure why, but there ya' go.

I was wondering about a few things in that fight. The first fight we had Zeph take the first trip to the skelly pit and then ,after what seemed a few seconds, I got ported to the pit and as I was coming out I counted 7 shades already on the battlefield. So I got to wonder if Jindo starts off with a few shades already in the battlefield or whether people are getting cursed and not knowing it because they were not teleported to the skelly pit, as I was the second person in that pit the first fight?
Another question, I was cursed 5 times during both fight and when I attacked the shades I never saw any remnants of any DOT's or even a shade that showed any damge from a previous engagement. So can anyone actually confirm damage on shades they found after they were cursed?
Another question is shade Identification, for casters its easy since they look ike black ghost at a distnce but up close personal they look like Jindo. So I was wondering with all the expediency put on killing the totems do the melee folk who were cursed realized that the jindo they are seeing is actaully a shade and not jindo?

I can answer some of these questions:
1. Getting teleported into the pit and getting the curse are unrelated. People should just watch for the debuff and listen for the big "tolling bell" sound that indicates that they have the curse.
2. He starts cursing from the moment he is pulled. So someone should be attacking shades before DPS has even been called. In fact, this is the reason some writeups suggest Hunter pulling - the hope being that the Hunter (a high DPS class) will get a curse right off the bat. I am not surprised that there were 7 shades up by the time you got dumped in the pit - I suspect the curse is FAR more frequent than the pit attack.
3. I saw damaged shades when I got the curse. I SW:P'd a bunch of them, though it isn't easy to find them in the chaos. In fact, I suspect a BIG mistake we are making is not keeping our healers bunched. Since the shades gravitate towards the healers, I saw 2-3 shades on various people - but all very far apart. Made it a pain to hunt them down. If everyone was bunched, all the shades would be closer - making life easier on shade-killers.
4. I can't speak to whether people are confusing the shades and jindo himself, but that would be a good example of not bringing an "A game."
I understand why some teams talk about "assigning" a couple of Rogues to Jin'do and have everyone else ignore him and just do shades and totems. He really doesn't have that many hit points. The shades and totems are the whole fight - he's a total wuss.
Oh, one more annoying thing. The totems are totally immune to shadow damage. So Warlocks and Shadow Priests can only focus on Jin'do and the shades.

Maybe we could do it late saturday rather than late sunday? Alot of people have stuff they do on Sundays or need to get up early on Mondays. I fall under both categories.
However, don't feel that you have to change your plans for just one person. I would just really like to see this guy go down!
