Frame rates for optimal gameplay.....

I have heard that the faster the framerates in an FPS, the better. Does this hold true for RTS' and other games too? I have a Radeon 9700pro and I usually play HW2 with all the settings maxed. Does this cause lag?

my other spec's:

1 gig of XMS Corsair twins
AMD Athlon 3200+ (2.2 ghz)
NEC 19" FE991sb
Cable/direct connection, no router
MS Sp2 firewall, no other enabled

my games all seem to be laggy as hell.

The More FPS, the better, with anything computer related.

When you say laggy, do you mean;

When your connected to the internet or playing games in general.

The former could be due to some kind of interference on your line or exchange, the latter, either you have virus' or too many programs running in the background, failing that you may need a better psu if the one you have is old.

Thanks Apoc, no, nada on the virus, well protected comp, that I know a little about, recently my games online have been lagging.

your firwewall may be set too high and take too long time to process the files that theese online games send

Either what Mole said or your having a problem with your line. Get your phone/cable company to run a test on your line.
