HotC - FR

By now as most of us know HotC is a full-fledged Raid guild. We've seen success in taking down all of Molten Core other than Ragnaros, taking down Onyxia, and a bit of success in Zul'Gurub.

A few things though, is that on our list next is to take down Ragnaros. MVB has mentioned many times before that Fire Resistance (FR) is needed. Running MC as many times as we have, and facing the flame packs, we have seen what kind of fire damage is there. I'm not sure, as I've missed about 3-4 of the many MC runs we've had, how many times we've faced the flame packs and not one person dies. To be able to survive against Ragnaros, we first of all need to not be dying against the flame packs. Ragnaros will be dealing much more fire damage than the flame packs will and so building as much FR as you can unbuffed will ensure success when HotC is ready to go against Ragnaros again.

I have to say 75% the first time, with more than half the raid not equipped to resist heavy amounts of fire damage, is pretty darned good! SO, in the meanwhile be looking toward building up some FR gear and stuff so that when we are ready again to go against Rag, we'll see a much better fight!

I have been looking on AH all week for a Libram of Resilience and I have seen 0.

Yeah, I think a few people have figured out the librams trick..I've seen them offering to "enchant" in IF with it. Plus, there's the rash of new guilds and PUGs attempting the core, everybody's trying to get a piece. I have also been watching for librams. :o( Last time I saw one, was at 50g, instead of the usual 30g. Blarg

If there was a group of mob's that dropped this consistently I would even farm it, but I think it is a random drop from any 50+ mob.

It's geared towards rogues, but the information should also be useful to druids. My unbuffed FR is now 250 which is near the limit that mostly blue leather items can provide.

It is missing Engineer made Fire Goggles which are +18 FR.

Ditto the comment above about AH prices. The entire economy of Dalaran has for sometime been geared towards MC/BWL raiding. Any FR related item is ridiculously priced. I think I may buy up other types of resist items now and mule them, just in case they become useful.
