The topic of black amnesty came up in another thread and I wanted to illlustrate what kind of GUILD commitment we were looking at:
Gaining Reputation ("Borrowed" from Willhelm):
Thorium Brotherhood Reputation
It takes 3,000 Reputation points to achieve Friendly, which works out to 600 Dark Iron Ore (550 if you are Human) or 40 Core Leather (36 for human). It takes 6,000 additional Reputation to become Honored (a total of 9,000), which comes to 1,200 more Dark Iron Ore or 80 Core Leather (1,100 or 72 for Human), or a total of 1,800 Dark Iron Ore or 120 Core Leather (1,640 or 108 for Human). It takes 12,000 additional Reputation to become Revered (total of 21,000). It takes 21,000 additional Reputation to become Exalted (total of 42,000).
Thorium Brotherhood Reputation Quests:
The addition of the Thorium Brotherhood camp at Thorium Point north of the Searing Gorge adds a new set of quests that can raise your reputation with the Thorium Brotherhood. There are 3 quest givers and a Wanted Poster. You can get 7 quests at first, with 2 followups that are repeatable. All of these quests can be obtained at 45, although the quest levels range from 48 to 55. The quests give full exp and reputation up to 5 levels above the quest level, then drop 20% per level to a minimum of 10%. The initial 7 quests are:

Hansel Heavyhands wants you to kill 20 Indendosaurs. Reward is 70 s, 100 Reputation Points, and a Luffa trinket that removes one Bleed with use. Incendosaurs are found in the cavern across the bridge from the same big room that you went through to get to Overseer Maltorius. They drop 1-2 scales each. These can be traded, so you can buy them on the Auction House (along with Kingsblood).

Bring the head of Overseer Maltorius to Lookout Captain Lolo Longstrider. Reward is 100 Reputation Points and choice of Seared Mail Vest or Charred Leather Tunic. Overseer Maltorius is up the ramp to the right from the quarry where Obsidion lies. At the top go in and back and then to a balcony to the right to find him.
What the Flux? [Quest level 50]

Master Smith Birninate wants you to return the "Secret Plans: Fiery Flux" stolen by Overseer Maltorius. Reward is 75 s and 100 Reputation Points. The plans are on the table that Overseer Maltorius is standing in front of.

Restoring Fiery Flux Supplies: [Quest level 55]

After completing "What the Flux?", if you are still Neutral you are asked by Master Smith Burninate to provide the materials needed for making Fiery Flux: 2 Incendosaur Scales, 1 Coal, and either 4 Kingsblood or 4 iron bars or 10 Heavy Leather. Reward is 25 Reputation Points and the 3 quests are repeatable until you reach Friendly. Coal is sold by Master Smith Burinate. Incendosaurs are found in the northern cavern in the gorge and drop 1-2 scales each.
Gaining Acceptance: [Quest level 55]

After completing "What the Flux?", when you reach Friendly Master Smith Burinate offers you a different repeatable quest, which you can do until you reach Honored. Turn in sets of 4 Dark Iron Residue (drops from Dark Iron Dwarves in Blackrock Mountain) to Master Smith Burinate, who needs them to refine Fiery Flux. Reputation reward is 25 Reputation points.
Comments:
The first 7 quests are worth 100 Reputation Points each if done within 5 levels of their quest level, so you can get a total of 700 Reputation Points for completing the first 7 quests (70 if you are level 60). The 8 Imperial Plate quests in Gadgetzan provide 1150 Reputation points, so if you do those and the 7 above you will have 1850 Reputation Points (2035 if human). You can then do the first repeatable quest 46 times to get to Friendly (36 for human). If you are not a Blacksmith then you will need to do it 46 more times. Then you can do the second repeatable quest 240 times to get to Honored, a total of 960 Dark Iron Residue. (219 times or 876 residue for human.) If you intend to go above Honored then only do "What the Flux?" and the repeatables to get to honored by level 53 and then do the other 6 Thorium Point quests and the Imperial Plate quests.
These quests also allows Tailors and Leatherworkers, who are not likely to have mining, to get to Honored and buy their patterns the first time they go to BRD without having to turn in any Dark Iron Ore, Blood of the Mountain, or items from Molten Core. Tailors and Leatherworkers have no need to go above Honored as there are no new patterns for them at Revered or Exalted.

After completing "What the Flux?", if you are still Neutral you are asked by Master Smith Burninate to provide the materials needed for making Fiery Flux: 2 Incendosaur Scales, 1 Coal, and either 4 Kingsblood or 4 iron bars or 10 Heavy Leather. Reward is 25 Reputation Points and the 3 quests are repeatable until you reach Friendly. Coal is sold by Master Smith Burinate. Incendosaurs are found in the northern cavern in the gorge and drop 1-2 scales each.

Turn in sets of 4 Dark Iron Residue (drops from Dark Iron Dwarves in Blackrock Mountain) to Master Smith Burinate, who needs them to refine Fiery Flux. Reputation reward is 25 Reputation points.
Comments:
The first 7 quests are worth 100 Reputation Points each if done within 5 levels of their quest level, so you can get a total of 700 Reputation Points for completing the first 7 quests (70 if you are level 60). The 8 Imperial Plate quests in Gadgetzan provide 1150 Reputation points, so if you do those and the 7 above you will have 1850 Reputation Points (2035 if human). You can then do the first repeatable quest 46 times to get to Friendly (36 for human). If you are not a Blacksmith then you will need to do it 46 more times. Then you can do the second repeatable quest 240 times to get to Honored, a total of 960 Dark Iron Residue. (219 times or 876 residue for human.) If you intend to go above Honored then only do "What the Flux?" and the repeatables to get to honored by level 53 and then do the other 6 Thorium Point quests and the Imperial Plate quests.
These quests also allows Tailors and Leatherworkers, who are not likely to have mining, to get to Honored and buy their patterns the first time they go to BRD without having to turn in any Dark Iron Ore, Blood of the Mountain, or items from Molten Core. Tailors and Leatherworkers have no need to go above Honored as there are no new patterns for them at Revered or Exalted.
