get nvidia... nvidia supports more games and is regulary bette rthen the ati series..

The general idea is i want a good 256 mb graphics card as cheap as possible and with a good make.

i understand 256 mb graphics is better than 128 mb?

256mb is 256mb ram dedicated to gfx.. you can also buy a 128mb card and dedicate 128mb ram of ur ram to gfx... will give about the same result

I'm actually badly behind on all the views and reviews on graphics cards but the ram doesn't make all that much difference to performance (talking the difference between 128 and 256) The general rule of thumb is to go with a good manufacturer. Nvidia is (if i remember rightly) still ahead on graphical power when standing next to ati but again the difference between related models is only slight and you'll find the biggest concern between the 2 makes is confliction issues.

youre eye sees 60 fps. any more than that is just overcompensation for a small penis size.....

btw, www.tomshardware.com is the best place to find benchmarking on most GPU's (and everythign else for that matter!)

What pc do you have? You need to know if a agp or pci-x will fit.

Also, while more ram is better, also the better chip/card is a bonus. But I would go for a 256 mem as well as a fast card if I were you. My bro got his 9800 ages ago and I think thats 128, and my lappy is 128 as well... (could have got the 256, but not enough £££)
