Hey, I'm looking into buying a new graphics card, I currently have what I think is a Asus ti4200. Because my Radeon 9800 bit the dust when the fan cut randomly and the chip fried.
Now I'm looking to buy something like a Radeon X850, or a GeForce 7800. But ASUS makes some pretty fancy cards of their "own". Basically the just have ATi and Nvidia cards but they sup them up a bit.
Anyway I remember ASUS cards being really good, but I'm not sure if thats still the case. So I'd like you guys to check out and tell me what you think.

ATi (http://www.ati.com/)
Nvidia (http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html)

a x800XT wuld be my reccomendation, best FPS, very low power consumtion and very low heat out out, its also an overclockers dream.
Basically the just have ATi and Nvidia cards but they sup them up a bit.
thats what they all do, ati and nvdia supply refrence boards to all manufactures, look for OEM cards if you want to see what the straight up unmodded card, manufactures really do not do a great deal to the card, you at home can do far more, for example I have changed some of the resistors in my x800 and as a result it runs fasters than my mates x850 modding the power modulation to the GPU and memory. I have also done a similar thing on my dog slow 5900.
9800GTX wtf is that? aint that two gens of nvidia away, do you mean XT or maybe LE

oOOOOoooOOooooh that makes sense sorry i thought you were talking about old ATi cards i was a little confussed.
you where right in what you said before the new x900 (if they call it that) will wipe the floor supposedly with anything avaliable atm and I have heard that there will be an uber version with 512MB DDR3 on board, though i can think of a couple of technical issues that might make this untrue.

i would undergo large amounts of anal rapage for half a gig on my grahpics cards especially as more and more games are relying on the GFX card doing alot of the calculations.
link to the Samsung release of the new 512MB chips, at 8GB per second
