Hey lard can you IM me sometime? I just got my new mobo and proc and It's my first time building one from complete scratch. I think I know what I'm doing, I haven't run into anything confusing yet, but I'd feel better knowing I could pop up and ask you if something confuses me.

Well went on ahead on my own, all's going well. Just need my graphic card and RAM to arrive.

I have run into one problem though....

I tried to connect jumpers from the headphone/mic jack in the front of the case, Except I seem to have 3 jumpers that don't go onto any pins.... a second Ground, MicBias and a second L in

is this normal?

sorry, didn't see this thread till now, should have sent a PM.

it's not unusual for a case to have extra wires, especially when they're different brands. Those connections probably are on the back panel of the motherboard, and jumper pins for a redundant case front connection may not have been supplied.

woohoo thanks. just waiting on UPS to get me my fuggin GC and It's ready to go. Shoulda been here today, but UPS screwed up and can't get it til monday.

So... lesson learned. ship with fedex.
