With basically 0 breaks, I have been in this library working since 9 AM yesterday morning. Going on 24 hours of straight work with only brief breakfast/lunch/dinner breaks, and like 10 minutes on TLSC IRC chat.

And I'm still not fucking done with all the work I have.

I wonder when I'm going to start hallucinating. Bah, probably not for another couple days; and you can bet as soon as I hit home tonight at around 6:30'ish I'm going to just face-plant into the bed and not wake up for about 12 hours.

There's NO point in sleepless nights + work/study. Your brain's efficiency is gonna drop so fast that you won't be gaining anything from the additional time you steal from sleep.

Sleep 5 hours and then do what you can.

Also, prolonged sleeplessness is known to cause schyzophrenia (we're talking months here though, not days).

2nd day I get a bit, day 3 it really kicks in... of course everyone is different.

I'm doing fine; my work's been good. It's just going to really hurt sitting in class later. I know I'm going to fall asleep in every single class I've got, despite the coffee that I'm already IV'ing.

Cofee ain't good for your blood pressure and it will make you feel really tired if you drink too much.

I know for I had days when I could drink 3 l of coffee just to not fall asleep:freak:

Im glad I abandoned this

MVB, take fish oil caplets!

My mom reads all these natural health books and stuff, she is the healthiest person I have ever seen.

Anyway, she buys these things called, fish oil caplets. She read about them from this book that Dr. Barry Sears wrote...Basically they Maximize your brain efficency.

She had me take some, the other day before school, and I felt 3 times smarter...Honestly. I didn't feel even slightly tired either.

You can order them online. If you want I can ask my mom for the site...Would you be intrested?

and chef, its called Omega-3 fatty acid... its not a placebo, actually, its a protein-type deal that you actually need, and you get it from eating sardines, tuna, and other such things. you DO need it, and if you are short on it it could help. a tip though; don't bite into the caplet

Justice
Nov 23, 2004, @ 10:56 PM
You don't have to eat caplets.

What laser said (fish) ... very high in Omega-3 fatty acids. Salmon especially.

I vote against continuing with this exercise. You are playing with fire. You very well could trigger a psychotic break or other messy incident and with very little need.

Yes.

It IS very unhealthy, and I worry for your safety, MVB-poo.

What if you have to drive? Even if you go outside to take a walk, your reaction time will be down and something nasty could happen.

I believe its 72h before the body goes into shock from lack of sleep. So MVB still has another day and a half before he goes kaput from the shere exhaustion he has put on his body. I am so glad I can at least grab 3-5h of sleep between my basically 18h of work O.o

Ummon

Right after the dolphin parade... or danse-macabre if you prefer.

Although, jokes aside, it's not THAT MUCH dangerous. It's just not healthy.

Yea no doubt. MVB's a grown adult, he doesn't need you guys to baby him. His body will shut down for him when it -really- wants sleep. :) He knows what he's doing.

And apparently I'm late with this because he's already slept. lol

Mushrooms man.. went on 3 day constant trip/booze up over the last new year. I ecceeded my ususal dose by.. well alot.. so much im getting flash backs recently.....so cool....(btw this year acid :] )

I once did a experriment for my a-level biology, we had to stay up for as long as possible and record the effects of caffine on your body. I seem to take these things to serrious and in the name of science took about 30 pro plus (caffine tablets) tablets over 4 days.. man was i tripping. (dont even go near them now -worse than shrooms)

I aslo spent my time at uni sooo fucked on beer (like 10+ pints a day) i cant remember any of it, i just get random memories surface, 3 years down to about 1 weeks worth of memories. That was a year ago.. I went to the doc and had a blood test, he told me i had 2 years or i would permently damage my liver. (my alcohol level was 3 times what it should have been)

But the good news is i kicked my drink problem, before it became a serrious problem (pritty much) and hardly take anymore drugs.

40 hours isn't bad.

During the last week in my camp, I went for 36 without sleep.

Not as impressive, because I had 1 cup of coffee the next morning, but still something.

And the truth behind 2bit's eccentric spelling problems comes to light.

I thought it was just because he was european, as DJ has the same shitty typing skills but apparently it's a permanent inebriation as well as acid build-up in his spine. :D

What aren't you telling us, DJ?

I will send you notes of the dreams anyway; I have them vividly in memory still; of the dreams I remember at all, I permanently remember about 95% of them.

MVB is experiencing some interesting sleeplessness-altered state of mind, which would surely be worthy of further analysis, but mine was a joke.

Although I am sure someone would "stroke and poke" about them with pleasure, I will pass... :oohoo:

-=</|awesomeparty|\>=-

MVB
Nov 26, 2004, @ 06:50 PM
Actually, Ummon, I'm experiencing no sleeplessness issues; I voluntarily chose to stay awake due to procrastinating on several big assignments, forcing myself to either stay up and finish them on time, or not finish them and get bad grades.

Ummon
Nov 26, 2004, @ 07:12 PM
The vivid dreams are all that can be expected for a short sleepless period, but they're interesting stuff anyway.

The brain needs REM sleep (the one when dreams occur) and if you do not sleep for a while, later you experience more vivid dreams because the amount of REM sleep increases to compensate. Hallucinations are the following step, but it takes longer sleeplessness to experience them.
