Well shit. I'm totally out of shape in DoW (but great at sc :P). anyways, for those of you still playing...Canada WCG prelims are on the 16th of July. I just registered (yay local prelim is in my hometown :)).

I dunno if I can stand DoW enough to shoot for anything beyond the prelim. Half of me just wants to win the prelim, take my free x800 and vamoose. Part of me still lingers from 1.2 in that I want to represent Canada, but...DoW just feels so dead on the competitive level.

Do I play eldar, win and feel stupid? Or play Sm, and risk getting pwned by some chaos/eldar nub.

Any clue in what order I should make these decisions? (winning, integrity..teh careage).

Should I practise up like mad now and decide later? But..I need to practise with whatever race I'm taking. And eldar is simply the best race. grr...if i can play em well enough =/.

If I win local prelims, regionals are just an hour and a half away on the 28th of august...

If your playing for a prize then you use the the race your best at. In a competition where you gain something, you don't pull any punches and gamesmanship is out the window. A win's a win.

Very simple. If they are chaos, scoutrush them. If they are eldar, Scoutrush them with infiltrate. Eldar players are not very adaptive fell, barring mav and ari. Just pull fast ones on them until they are dead.

Or go eldar. ><

Its supposidly 1.2. Lets see earlier spiders, guards didnt change, fs didnt change, prism is still early. I think eldar is your best option as you'll be facing scouts and traks. With the new anti eldar lessons from 1.3 i should be thinking orks might be a tad more troublesome but just a tad. If you want to win without effort play eldar, if you want to win fairly play marines. If you want to lose play chaos :P If you dont care either way play ork.

Actually, play ork and powertech to trakks. GG all. Or even better, powertech to blaster and f2 abuse. (assuming to urge to win is paramount)

is it 1.2 really? the italian qualifications was in 1.3... still 2v2 maps though. So stick with SM and mass mass mass those scouts and take 3/4ths of the map... then you can just do whatever you want to do ^.^

I did my local prelim already and am doing regionals. My best advice is stick to Eldar and practice a lot. The maps are hell, so stick with what you are used to. And the prelims will be in 1.3. The version on the site SAYS 1.2, but it also has fine print that says "changes necessitated by most recent patch or update..." etc. etc. so on. You will find yourself playing in 1.3 I am almost certain. Just play tight. It's best of 3, first map is random, and loser picks next map.

lol, no secret that Orks were my nightmares as a SM or Chaos. They were also the easiest race to win with, if I wasn't facing Chaos. Will it be trakks or nobz.... lets fake trakks and go for nobz :-)

Whahahah. Some marine, I think it was ravens marines dying in two shots after he lp abuses for half the game, despite me not using trakks or juice. He didn't even cc my big mek, lmao.

Hax, that weapon was uber ownage on everyone. Squad of marines dead in 2-3 shots. Made the defiler look not so bad especially when F2 abused.
