By invite only we will be hosting a tournament soon....and we would like to know if you Guys would be interested?

the idea is to invite three other clans to compete with us in a 2v2 and 1v1 tournament. The idea is each clan enters 4 players/teams for each of the two tourneys maybe introducing a third 3v3 tounrey with 2 teams from each clan.

The tournament structure will either be pools or knockout.

Firstly its an opportunity for some nice competative play but also for us guys to play against decent opposition.
Each win accumalates points towards a clan ladder board meaning a team might not win the tounrament but each win counts as points towards the clan ladder...for example

TLSC could win more games in total but not win a final yet still be clan winners....

The ideas are being formed at the minute and there will be a post going in www.teamexile.org within the next few days under the challenge us thread. Sign up your interest there.

We would propose this might take a few weekends worth of games but should be enjoyable for all....we hope you share our interest.

Why the hell are there so many 2v2 and 1v1 tourneys? Where the hell does the team aspect get lost in all this? I want a big 4vs4 tourney somewhere. :/

That's the point of clans, right? What's the point of having a bunch of 1vs1 players in a clan?

Anyway.... I made a post in the private boards asking for admins to change yalls names, not sure if it's possible or not, but hopefully they'll read it there. None of them look over this side of the forum.

well if you don't want in that all fine the reason for these first is we will be hosting the 3v3s and 4v4s later but as they take much longer to play we thought about doing this first....

the reason for that, mistress, is that traditionally, competitive RTS play has almost ALWAYS centered about 1v1 and some 2v2. its just kinda hard to have 3v3 competitive play, because clans are on and off and always changing, but one person cannot quit himself, reshape, or anything like that. clans are too ever-changing and, mostly, too few and far between. if there was a clan ladder, there would be like 5 participants. but on the current 1v1 ladder, there are thousands. the smaller the team, the bigger the bragging rights, and that is why people usually COMPETE anyhow. if you want big team games, you can do so, but its not really an uber competitive team. if you dont like my view, post a topic about it on DoWr or DoWs. they will most likely share my views.

Yet competitive basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, and numerous other sports are team based....

anywho's, maybe we should try hosting a 4v4 tourney since noone else wants to. Personally i prefer 3v3's but hell, i'm game.

No actually laserflip the reason was two fold getting enough teams to compete and also easier organisation of a one or two day tourney. You also cannot lame tactics like some clans not You or Us like to do on maps like Kaiser Lutien and Bloodshed i.e. mass FP rush...until we had the time to make the rules rock solid 2v2 tourney looked easier to manage.
