ah its really fun but the community is most unpleasant. its like you better hope you dont even ever lose because EVERY time you lose a game, the opposing guy or opposing team WILL flame you. i have NEVER encountered a gracious winner on XBox live, NEVER. its like these fuckers go to school and get picked on all day so they come home like "omg noone likes me i just hope i can win at halo 2 or ill be worthless and kill myself!" so then they do win and the sad thing is, its the highlight of their fucking day. i swear when they win a game, they toss down their XBox controller and call all their 2 friends and throw a celebratory party. anyhow yea, the community sucks and pretty much everyone is an asshole. and dont even get me STARTED on all the mexicans!

I've played SOCOM at a friends house. I didn't like it much. And I do have a network adapter cause I have a new PS2.

well the root of the problem is the nature of the game. console gaming is aimed toward a more widespread, less mature market; console GAMERS. these are generally younger and more squirrely than PC gamers, and they are obsessed with winning as well as thinking they are the best player ever. PC gamers understand the scope and scale of online games and realize that they are nowhere near the best, but to a console gamer, taking 1st place in a rumble pit game automatically makes them "AT LEAST TOP 20 IN THE WORLD" and such. they just need to learn good sportsmanship and how to treat people right.

Laser is SO right about the community. It's bursting at the seams with brat-tastical jackasses. So are most Xbox Live games that I've come across. At the end of the game CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY if you don't get harshly flamed. But expect every single game to end with at least a moderate flame, whether you win, or whether you lose.

Laser ever been without a mic? Omg that sucks lol. I always ask or just friggin run for the sniper rifle, but when I didn't have a mic total noobs would take it and like shoot it into the dirt. :lol:

The best thing to do in a situation where someone has a gun that you want: Follow them into battle, when they come under fire, shoot em too then when they die, you can be like. "Omg that guy must hack! Look how fast he killed you! Well...I'd better take this gun...For Teh Win."

I've actually had a few decent games with players on both sides.

That said, the reactions of people after completely wtfpwning them is hilarious.

I've had runs on ascension with the sniper rifle that got up into the 20's. And when they finally kill me all I hear are "FOR FUCKS SAKE I FINALLY GOT THE FUCKING SNIPER".

Then 2 min later I have the other sniper, snipe out there guy, and start pinging everybody on the map again :)

Dude Bent lol, Ascention is THE BEST place to pwn with a sniper. THe last 2 times I played there I got to a Rampage (UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE) both times before we won.
I like to love on ppl with that funk-tastic firestick.

the rocket on that map is just cheap, and the sniper is borderline imbalanced on that map. its WAY too easy to use and n00by friendly. they need to make the sniper rifle have handshake, so that the farther in you zoom, the more violently your character's hands shake making it harder to aim like in most other games. the fact that it stays 100% still means that ANYONE can pinpoint headshot anything easily at any moderate distance, and playing head to head on ascention brings back memories of Enemy at the Gates

actually laser, I've done a few kick ass things on ascension without the sniper as well.

like:
1) Taking out a dual weild smg guy with my lone smg (he barely broke sheilds). Crouching beneath the crooked phallic symbol for 2 seconds, then poping out to kill the sniper's OTHER guard (who also had dual weild) and to take out the sniper himself with a nade.

2) Nade trick :) I see a lone guy coming up a walkway to the ridge I'm on. I back down on the ridge and throw a nade so that it pops straight up in the air in the path of the guy. He came forward at exactly the right time and recieved my nade exploding in his face.

Like this arm comes outta the ground and you have to perform mad button combos (A NOT Button-Masher-friendly combo). And this techno music is like blasting as you do it (BOOMCH BOOMCH BOOMCH) and ppl gather around and cheer for you and stuff; and the camera swirls around u like in the old CROSSFIRE board game comercial. LOL
