I've been playing the campaign... and it's really simple... I mean... I just mass marines and I don't even need to watch them... I just move them and wait...
I'm going to try mp soon... hope that's more interesting...

Single player is a waste of time.

you mean MP isn't just about massing marines and clicking the spot you want them to take on the mini map?

No; mp has tons of micro, but as space marines, they only have 2 infantry types early game -- scouts and marines -- so there is a lot of "massing" with those troop types; micro, usage, and upgrades affect how they break down.
I.E. with eldar you purchase Reapers to kill heavy infantry, Banshees for close combat/moralebreaking, Warp Spiders to kill regular infantry, etc. With marines you purchase marines, then upgrade plasma to kill heavy infantry, flamers for close-in fighting and moralebreaking, Heavy bolters to kill regular infantry, missiles to kill buildings. So it's the same variety as with the larger # of troops in eldar, but it "looks" like massing b/c you have one base troop type that you're upgrading to suit the situation.
MSN me or IM me before you hop on MP and I'll give you some pointers and get you on the right track. Unless you're doing 2v2v2, the game is *usually* a bit faster 'n GC2, but probably with less variety of units in use. An average marine early game 1v1 will involve scouts and marines and your force commander. In later games, things change as you tech up to vehicles and special abilities and unit upgrades, giving much more versatility to the mix.
Also, when you're in mp you're going up against tons of enemy units who are just as smart as you; you should know as well as anyone from your GC2 experiences that your gaming experience changes drastically.

I guess... the micro is kind of annoying as is... because you can only select one squad at a time... and they aren't very responsive... so it's hard to micro them into a good position... the pathing is also pretty bad... A few troops in the wrong place will prevent you from moving your heavy units through.
In most games, your units or allied units will just get out of the way... in this game they seem to just sit there and block traffic...
I'm sure it's more interesting them my experience has been so far... I just really miss GC2 before the last patch fucked it...

Well, as far as pathing goes; you're right ... you kinda have to babysit your guys *sometimes* on some of the tighter-in multiplayer maps (like Testing Grounds, if you skirmish on it) ... on others it doesn't matter at all, like Mortalis, which is small fast and close-in but not tight. You can create control-groups to select multiple units at once, and that's going to be a massive help to you.
Bandbox select several units, or select one and hold shift and bandbox others or hold control and click others, and they'll add to one group. Once you have the group selected that you want, hold "control" and hit 1 through 0 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ... etc) ... from then on, if you hit "1" you'll select all the units you had selected when you hit control+1 ... and so on and so forth. You can also create control groups out of your builders and out of buildings, so if you want to be able to quickly build a new marinesquad, you can make your Chapel Barracks Control-9, for instance, then quickly hit 9 from the battle and qeue another squad.
Also, if you select a building, like the Barracks, and then right click on a unit or location on the map, it will set that location as a waypoint, and any new units built will auto-locate to the waypoint as soon as they finish building.
As far as reinforcing units goes, you can auto-reinforce, or "overwatch" units by rightclicking the reinforcement button, which is a helpful way in *some* cases of reinforcing a unit as it approaches the front without having to individually click on each reinforcement button, and/or without having to pay a ton of req at once just to get your unit up to full strength.

Dont forget TAB cycles through units in unit groups so you can use speical abilites, reinforce better. btw i havnt even got past mission 5 in sp, i find thats its just a god dam waste of time.. infact hw2,cod,mohaa are about the only games ive completed sp...(and the month i spent playing morrowind)

SP is actually quite good, provided you play on the Hard difficulty, and not on any other (shit on normal, ridicolous on insane). The storyline isnt too good, but at least its not "Kill Vaygr!211111". It certainly feels more fleshed out than HW2's. :/

I'll try it later... I've been using Prince of Persa to satisfy most of my gaming lust... but I need something deeper... there are a limited number of games I can reasonably play on my computer and DoW really isn't one of them... I only have 800 mhz... I really need to upgrade... but GC2 worked just fine... I really hate those bastards for fucking it up...

Turn down all your graphics settings and DoW will work fine. It just won't be as *pretty,* which is still fine.

In most situations the planet would have been virus bombed to hell. Ork incursion? OK, they'll fight it out. Chaos AND Eldar? Exterminatus.

Only if the Litany of Fury happened to carry Exterminator weapons. Otherwise, they would have needed to call in an inquisitorial ship, and the incoming warp storms would have stopped it from arriving.

They do not evac civillians, if I understand correctly. The heresy might be among those "innocent" civillians, so they torch the whole planet AND population.

You didn't enjoy GC2.
Karma, coming from GC2, which has tactics, will quickly grow bored of DoW.

GC2 simply owns DoW. Yep.
DoW is eyecandy and I think even gc2 beats it in that so dow 0 - gc2 10.
