What I always thought was strange is that like 5 or 6 years before Half-Life 1 came out, I wrote a futuristic sci-fi short story for a class and the main character's name was Gordon Freedman. Coincidental, I'm sure, but odd nonetheless.

Are you getting it by steam cause it will be available in steam on Monday(i think). And in stores om Tuesday. Im getting the Collectors Edition in stores.

HL2 could very well be the next FPS. Unlike Halo 2 pretends to be, and unlike Doom 3 showed us it couldn't be.

Halo 2 disappointed me really bad. I blame all the hype.

It was like Halo the first! But, with features that could be cool, but arn't for one reason or another. Such as no melee with two weapons.

Halo 2 was an awesome game. People just expected a game as groundbreaking as Halo was, not a Halo improved.

Eine anonyme Quelle, die bereits den Gold-Termin von HL2 korrekt benannt hatte, hat nun Spekulationen bezüglich des Multiplayer-Parts von Half-Life 2 weiter angeheizt.
Laut VALVe wird Counter-Strike Source der einzig offizielle MP-Teil von Half-Life 2 sein. Die Quelle deutet allerdings an, dass kurz nach dem Launch von Half-Life 2 doch ein eigener wenn auch kleiner anderer Multiplayer-Mode veröffentlicht werden soll, der angeblich zunächst nur eine Map umfassen könnte.

There´s going to be a special treat near launch or soon after for those who are upset that Counter-Strike Source is the only multiplayer offered out of the box. I´d hate to ruin the surprise but let´s just say traditionalists will be happy even if it´s just one map at first. Physics Cannon!

it is not good enough to stand doom 3 or far cry!
today a game must be perfect and has to have new things, not just this allday fragging stuff and halo 2 has nothing, and i really mean NOTHING new in it.

Ok, well some of us are content with a game that got 10 out of 10 by dozens of publications.

HL2 will be sweet but you dont know it's not all hype too.

Besides a game doesnt NEED to have something new! It's fun RIGHT? It's really addictive (At least in MP) right? Halo 2 is just that...Playing on Live! is incredible.
