Can some one post those chat commands? I just can't figure out how to use the channels. is it like:

"/s 2." for trade or whatever?

it's /2 for trade, /1 for general, /3 for w/e /3 is, and /4 for lookingforgroup

/p to talk to party, "r" and no slashes or enter first to talk to whoever just whispered you; /g to talk to guild, /o to talk officers w/in guild, /s to talk to area immediately around you, /w NAME to whisper to someone; those are the biggies

you can macro them. using the escape menu - and download cosmos user interface customizations from thottbot.com. ontop of EVERY thing else it gives you - it gives u 3 extra command bars on the bottom of the screen, which you can use. It uses nothing illegal - the UI in wow allows you to program all of the modifications yourself if you want to.. you can even download it from the wow homepage.

At the end of the day - if you are not using cosmos and you pvp someone who is of equal skill, level and class - you will lose.

It's just someone has taken the time to customize the UI using the tools blizzard provides you to do it with and provided them for everyone else. If you want to pay a monthly fee for a game in which there will be a reward system for pvp soon™, be my guest. Me, I'd rather not waste my cash on a carebear game, but hey, if you like paying a fee to repetitively kill boring mindless NPCs all day, be my guest. Seeing how its a Multiplayer game, I'd rather kill players, but I can understand if thats a little too risky for you.

I'd rather kill players, drunkenone, and i do (on euro - u guys play pve server). And id agree with you that The penalty should be made more sevre - and im sure they will be. And also, yes it is a shame that BG's isnt out yet...

However drunkenone, don't take any high ground with me - your post was more than a little abraisive and confrontational. And was not just an attack on the game - it was rubbishing the advice i gave on UI... pointlessly.

To make it crystal clear, if you gank somebody in game, you get the honor or dishonor, and the ladder standing etc. More ganks=more standing.

and yeah it's Soon™. New content patch is next week, and this is in the content patch following that. I figure June at the latest.

I agree it's an incomplete game, I feel somewhat angry that I spent a lot of time to level to 50 so I could play battlegrounds and encouraged others to do the same, and will be deep into 60 and bored before it can happen, but w/e the info is the info. Maybe I'll try Eve for a while if so.

Reading the notes, there is no penalty in WoW PVP. There is no dishonor. Only honor. So looks like the system will stay the same. Theres no motivation to not die.

Just lie there and take it I suppose.not my intent to nitpick but if you die on battlegrounds the balance of power shifts, because of the blood thing, refer to earlier posts. hard to see how it all falls together probably because they haven't figured itout either.

:D :D WoW is fun; I get to chat w/ my buddies, play w/ them, duel and pvp as desired without getting random-ganked from nowhere by a cloaked rogue, etc. I get to look forward to fun pvp options in the future, and continually-added insane pve/npc material. When I want to kill people just for the sake of that alone, I can turn on HW2 or DoW for 0 monthly bill, b/c I don't need "new content" to enjoy "Ganking" someone.

Spulm's been helped otherwise.


PS -- Drunk give your free trial to someone and if you quit WoW give your acc't to someone b/c they can use it. :D

Also, wasnt EVE 'unfinished' when it was first released? For a long time it was generally regarded as pretty dull by most reviewers etc. Only when the expansion and patches(tm) were released were these issues addressed. WoW has not been out long, but I love it anyway, as Im sure others love EVE.

When you die in Eve, you take an expensive hit b/c you have to replace your ship. The damage cost goes up as your skills and ship go up, b/c you have more expensive stuff, just as in WoW as your level goes up you have more expensive equipment to repair.

I don't see what the difference is -- in both you can't lose your character, it takes time to recover from the death, and takes money to bring yourself back up to speed. The difference is only in mindset and viewpoint.

There is 0 similarity between losing your ship and items and having losing 25% durability, sorry.

They would be similar if in WoW if you lost all of your inventory and what you have equipped, and whoever killed you gets 1/2 of your stuff.

I would say not so, b/c in WoW most higher items are exceedingly rare and difficult to get ... you would have to make them purchaseable on all levels/types, and you'd have to make money less difficult to come by. Perhaps if all white weapons/armor/equipment.etc. was destroyed, since it's common and easily purchaseable. Anyway, this argument is not going to go anywhere. You've had problems w/ WoW since b4 I gave you the game for free, so I'm unsurprised.
