Just wondering if any TLSC members are going to play WoW (world of warcraft). If we can get enough people we could try and start a guild. OH and the open Beta is going now. So if you wanna try it do it free, now's the time.

Nah, looks too cartoony for me.

A Drunken Pirate friend made me wise to a better game in this same genre. That would be Guild Wars. Now before you get upset, please don't, I do play in the WoW beta. ( errrr Stress Test ). Also went through two what Arenanet calls beta events. GW had far more people in it. Better controls IMO, and a lot less cartoony. Yet with these one must expect cartoony. It was just a all around funner ( is that a word ? ) , experience.

Guildwars is where it's at, Ques ... ALSO, Guildwars has NO MONTHLY COST!!! and it's by the same company that did Battle.net, so it's likely to be quite stable. You just buy the game for fitty bucks, and that's IT.

WOW might be cool, and I'll try the beta test maybe, but I simply cannot pay 120 dollars a year for a game. One 50 buck investment is all I'm really willing to do (I've done Shattered Galaxy on a by-monthly basis, and I seriously LOVED that game, and it just wasn't worth it in the end).

i agree partly. WoW doesn't look near as fun as it originally did. But that's why i'm in the open beta now, to see if it's worth it. Guild war's does NOT look all that interesting to me, but since so many people i know are intending to play it, if/when they do either an open beta or it's released i do intend to try it out.

Oh and as for the cartoony bit, the screen clips to GW, while not being cartoony, seem quite bland and blah, including the fact that most weapons seem to have a SINGLE animation -.-

Wow may look awsome but allot of people backed out because of the monthly fee (including myself) Like it or not allot of WOW fans went to Guildwars because of that and i think that game is gonna own bigtime :)

I've played GW and WoW recently, and WoW was much much more fun.

Sure GW is free online play, but I prefer pay to play since it usually means a better game, and more patches. GW can't justify any large content through patches if it has no monthly income like other mmo's.

With GW all I got was mediocre missions, no quests(?), and very highly unbalanced pvp.

And yea the WoW graphics are a little cartoony, but mostly just the environments. The characters and npcs look cool.

I'll probably end up playing either this or The Matrix Online... until Darkfall finally comes out.

The WoW beta servers went down for maintenance today, so I've been playing some RTW, and trying to log in periodically.

Thousands and thousands of people immediately flood any server that comes online and crash it. Been going on for almost 2 hours now lol.

I was on test 17, and some other central pvp server.

No you can't keep your beta characters (shame, I was getting close to lvl 35).

I have been following MXO forever, and I've been reading the beta boards recently (since the servers are so ridiculously buggy its impossible to log in). The situation there is looking pretty grim, and is making WoW look like a very good choice. Especially after a large group of my friends from AC decided to make the move to WoW.
