Well, I really like my fire spells, cant go wrong with a 900 crit fireball!
But i am thinking that I may want to re-spec my talent points. Ice would be more useful for pvp and higher instances i think. Should I focus on one tree (right now I am pretty much all fire)? or spread between ice/arcane or fire/arcane or firs/ice??
any suggestions or ideas?
right now i need 1 talent point to get the final fire talent (combustion or something like that), which means I will have only 9 more to put somewhere else....arcane for instant AoE?

I say focus on one tree.
I have respeced 2x. The first one was 1G, the 2nd 5g.
I am able to have my Ranged tree just about maxed out, and have some left over points in my beastloving tree.
Spreading your self thin, lets you do a lot of things. But if you max out a tree, you can do one thing very well, and still have some left over to learn a bit of something else.

Im so sad... Arcane and Fire is the way to go i belive... I tryed, tryed and tryed again but i could get the 100% Crit chance on next fire spell and Next spell w/ casting time under 10 sec become instant in the same build... Imagine this... 100% crit, Instant cast... PYROBLAST!!!! OMGWTFBBQPWNT!!!!

For pvp allia - i would focus heavily on ice with some in arcane. In battle grounds it will be rogues that come after you - and you want to slow them down. Focusing in ice you can slow them by 90%. For instances/Pve Fire everytime

Well from what MVB told me no1 will be able to touch any mages while he is forcing them to attack him with almighty taunt (Just playin around, dont start the argument again MVB :)) But ice is ok, but it dose shit all damage, Arcane and Fire forever allia :)

Fire magic is no good if you dont get a chance to cast it... And you wont last very long with cheapshot/kick/vanish/cheapshot/kidney shot/eviscirate... unless you can freeze the rogue then slow him down ALOT - you arent going to hit him with a fireball atall. Saying that a rogue/artizan engeneer is damn near unstoppable by anything other than a warrior or a very good warlock. And dont mock warriors - they are rogue killers, even if i get the jump on a warrior my level and crit him - i am hard pushed to win. Paladins on the other hand, are maggots.

But you can blink out of CS and KS... polly, pyro blast (might stun for 2 seconds), Ice bolt, Frost nova, Fire ball... all while using Instant casts inbetween... Fire and Arcane is the best... Ice is only a waste of mana cause it dosnt do anywhere near enough damage

Cheapshot and Kidneyshot are both stuns, as soon as you hit the first CS they would blink ~> polly ~> Pyroblast ~> Ice bolt ~> Arcane missiles ~> Frost nova ~> fireball... still using instant casts in between, and if you were a human they would have inc stealth detect, with Imp Arcane Explosion and Imp Arcane Missiles, you wouldnt stand a chance.

rogues are mage killers llama.
I know u can blink, which is why after my fists cheap shot (for 2 combo points) i kick you and vanish and do it again. 4 combo points, then i use kidney shot to interupt ur flo, make u blink again. 5 combo points. now ur dead.

IF you kick when they try to Blink 2 things can happen
1) they will hit it before the kick
2) after 2 seconds they will blink
Anyway, as i was saying before... they have lots of AoE spells... if they see you, you wont get a chance to CS and cause lots of mages are human, they have inc stealth detection. Only an Ambush rouge can take down a mage... 1000-1500 ambush (3CP), gouge (1CP) then CB+Evis for 1400, if they blink then you sprint after then and gouge if they try to frost nova you... Anyway, in PvP they will most likly not blink because they might end up face to face with a warrior :P

Im afraid lama is right stats, stunlock speced rogues have no chance against a mage. The only way a rogue can beat a mage is if they are speced to sub/ass. The rogue needs to offload all their damage before the mage can kite eg. ambush, gourge, CB evis. if you get lucky you can take out the mage in 2 hits, if not; the mage is on too low health to be much of a problem.
my level 53 rogue is combat specialised due to lack of good daggers. And i have found that a good mage will beat me 9/10 times in a duel. But i am able to beat wariors and pallys that are way above my level.
Its all about how you spend your talents, but stunlock is not the way to kill a mage.

I respeced and now i'm about 50/50 fire/arcane. I can do instant-arcane explosion (big +++), and I got a new fire spell, fire blast. So far I am happy with the change, I haven't really tried out all my AoE spells in combo yet, maybe I'll go aggro a bunch of furbolgs and see how that works out for me.
It cost 1g to respec the first time, then I had to buy 2 spells that I had lost, which had 5-6 ranks each. About 5-6g total. Totally worth it the first time. Respecing cost more each time you do it...up to 50g if you do it alot, not to mention any new spells you may have to learn. Use sparingly and have a plan when you put your talent points into something.
