Friends, countrymen, and fellow mounted over-40s...

I would like to put together a raid on the Horde for giggles. I'm open to suggestions, but I'd like to find an outpost, slay all the NPCs easily, and see who shows up. We should be able to put together 10-12 people and do some damage.

who's in, and when is a good time for you. Many of us have Monday the 21st off...

Raid the orc outpost at standalone mountains imo - but you'll get owned coz horde > alliance.

I'm in, if we can do it around 8-9pm EST tonight 02/21/05.

And we need to pick a good place to raid. I don't even know where to start.

you have to plan pvp a week in advance?

o_O, this game looks better and better.

Raids are insanely complex things, requiring a great deal of skill to be done right. You COULD just band a bunch together randomly and go helter skelter, but it'd be a pretty easy way to get omgwtfpwned. Maybe in Eve pvp is so easy all you have to do is randomly throw stuff together to sneak up on unsuspectings and kill them.

You can randomly kill people pvp, but a raid is an entirely more complex thing, and makes those 100+ ship battles you've screenshotted look rather pisant.

PWNED :D

Well, there won't be any more planned raids, we'll have to go impromptu because we only got 6 HOTC (all our highest level players though:thumbup ). It was good to learn about though, we went to the Crossroads after getting no takers in Ratchet, and killed NPCs for about 5 minutes before the Horde mounted a serious defense and killed us all. I look forward to trying again now that we know better how to organize and control the raid. Numbers are what are needed now.as a clarification it was a guild only raid, which is why it was planned, because we are raidn00bs.

As much as i dont want to admit this, we got owned by the rogues. Is there any defence against them? any potion to make stealth detection last longer? I can blink out of a stun but they just come after me again, and there is a coll down on it.

We need to come up with a defence against the lvl 51+ nasty nasty rogues!

Other than that it was fun, looking forward to the next one!

Given that all the rogues seem to be undead, perhaps we can figure out something in that department. Paladin oriented. Detection is an issue, there is a potion, catseye elixir (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=3577), that I got as a cenarion circle quest reward grab bag.

And I see these (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=9242), although not very useful for non-eng.

Rouges are easy. If you have a warlock with you that can cast See invisible on all of you. Then they cant sneak up.
Wanted to do the raid but real life kicked in. Also sucked major that the server bit it last night. My toon is on a boat now till i can get back on tonihgt. Uggg.g

hehe I noticed in guild panel that you and Ellora were 'nowhere' (blank description). wondered what that was about.Nice, ebev, come with next time. MVB is 40 now and close to being mobile.

I also have Flare that I can use, but need to pratice with it a bit.

Last night was a blast. It will be better when we are higher lvl and more than 6.

Once I de-n00b I can also apply the near-famous mid-fight organizational skills I built up in HW:C/HW2 to our raiding. Ya'll will probably remain superior to me with your man-handling, but perhaps we can get some quality strategics into things to add a little edge to our side.

No worries, just be patient; in a few months when we've got 30+ level 50+'s that are all used to gaming with each other due to our selectivity, we'll be brilliant (IMO).

Unless there's something I'm not aware of, you can only see the dots of the ppl in your immediate raid subgroup (5). this would make callinga master strategy rather tough, unless all were within field of view. I dont' think any inventive strategies will fit inthat category.

Teamspeak, perhaps.

Just have selected peeps talk in raid, and the rest use group to support each other.

Leading up to the raid, talk all you want, once you get in it, save the chat for later. We good a good job once the raid start of this for our mini raid.

The problem with TS, is not every one will get it, and you end up, Talking, Typing and playing. That always gave me a head ache.

Plus TS has a voice modulator to make you sound like a nerd, no matter who you are.

My Faerie Fire prevents invisibility and also debuffs armor. It's an instacast that takes barely any mana and I can prolly cast it over and over on 10+ rogues.

Faerie Fire (Rank 4)
Instant Cast

Decrease the armor of the target by 505 for 40 sec. While affected, the target cannot stealth or turn invisible.

It might be of some help next time.

j/k great, 4 ways to deal and counting.

Helrond

Most DOTs will keep them from stealthing also.

A good standard of who to kill first is usually
1 Priest and then other healers. (makes killing the rest easier)
2 Mages and Rouges, (They do a lot of damge but die quickly)
3 Hunters and Shamans. (They should die semi quickly)
4 The long deaths, Warriors, Pally's and other tanks

It is also good to have a 'caller', this person decides who to attack then puts it out in Raid or group, and every one focuses on that person until they are dead.

Yea allia we've been haveing some weird network issues at the house and sometime show up as there when we are not or vise versa. Working on getting ellora up to 40 so she can help us more with raids. We need to do the Monestary again soon too now that she has the quest.
