The taste for the most part can be regulated it depends on where its canned or bottled much like beer. Different plants have varying tastes and while the ingredients are the same and they try to have similar controls to produce similar batches if you sample enough you can tell the difference between areas. So I perfer pepsi as they do a better job then the reigional coke, that and i dont like the caramel flavouring getting stuck on my teeth after drinking coke. Different acids used for carbonation and flavour also differ them.
