Portis is the Washington Redskins' running back. He normally runs the ball, obviously. He just threw a touchdown pass on a halfback pass (a type of "trick" play, for all you Europeans ... normally the Quarterback throws passes to wide receivers, and the Running Back, or halfback/tailback, is HANDED the ball and then runs upfield with it ... so it is a "trick" play to hand it to the running back AS IF he's going to run, so that the DEFENDERS covering the wide receivers LEAVE their coverage to run up and tackle the running back ... but instead, Portis -- the running back -- threw the ball to the NOW wide open wide receivers, whose defenders broke coverage to tackle the runner).

Also, the Skins just blocked a punt (where the other teams' offense fails to do anything, and kicks the ball way downfield so that the other offense has a long way to go to try and score) and recovered it for another touchdown.
