So, I'm Sha, a mage on the Dalaran realm, and I'd like to apply to your guys' guild. I filled out a biiiiig app a few days ago, but I'm not sure if that's how I'm supposed to apply(?). So I'm going to repost it here. If you want to contact me, I'm on whenever, so let me know. I look forward to getting to know you guys :)

Character Information
Dalaran - Shanananana, Draenei Mage

Class Spec
51 / 3 / 11

Current Professions
Profession 1 - Mining
Profession 2 - Engineering

Personal Information
Your name - Alex
Your Age - 20
Guy or Girl ? - Guy
Your Timezone - EST

What times do you play the most or are most active in the game?
Down time. Pretty much, I'll trade off between WoW and a bunch of other games (usually stuff I pull off Steam), but I always make time for raids.

What do you enjoy doing the most
Raiding

Have you ever been a raid leader, class leader, officer, or website administrator with another guild?
Raid leader for a few smaller runs, 10 man non-progression stuff. I used to be class leader for Knights of Solamnia, a long time back. Now I think I'm technically class leader for Slice of Life... considering we lost our main mage last week (UPDATED) Yeah, I am.

Do you have Vent and mic?
Yes

Q/A Time !
1. How long have you been playing WoW?
Since about 3 days after launch, though I took a big break after I realized I was an awful player during AQ content. I parked my rogue, pretty much permenantly, then. Tried some stuff in BC, but never got back into the game until WotLK hit. Then I rolled my mage (which I've been playing for about a year 4 months now) and haven't looked back.

2. What were your last 3 previous guilds and what was your reason for leaving each?
My last 3 guilds were:
Slice of Life, which I'm leaving because we're stuck on Sindy and not progressing anymore.
Forge, which a lot of people left because the same few people kept wiping us on Rotface.
Logic, which was the only guild I've left in a long time with a bad impression. Every week I'd show up for raids and they'd say there isn't room for me, only after I'd cleared my schedule for the night.

3. If we have any questions about your ability or attitude in your last guild who may we contact?
Contact me, because I haven't told Slice that I'm leaving yet :P From my old guild you can contact one of my closest friends in-game, a DK named Zatheyll. In addition, one of the officers, Lytheia, just left the guild and is an excellent person to ask about me. Other than them, I've been raiding with one of my old GM's, Laurrana, for a long time now, so I'd talk to him (Alts are Ladaura, Drööd, and Austric). I can get plenty more contacts for you if you pm me.

4. What prior raiding experience do you have?
I've got plenty of experience with all the bosses in ICC except for the LK, who I've memorized the tankspot fight for but lack firsthand experience. Other than that, I've got plenty of experience in ToTC and ToTGC but am lacking in Ulduar and Naxx and pre-WotLK experience, since I've been gearing up through this past expansion.

5. Tell us about the role your class/spec plays in PvE:
Spam 1 until MB procs, then press 2, repeat until everything is dead.

6. What is your desired spec and tell us why you chose to spec the way that you did?
I've strayed a bit from the standard 51/3/11 spec because of some improvements I've made. I specced out of Student of the Mind and Arcane Meditation in order to spec into Magic Attunement and Arcane Stability. Slow is pretty much required for Saurfang and the val'kyr on the LK, and with the scope of the 25 man raids, Magic Attunement is all but required for every fight. I prefer Arcane Stability over points in Student of the Mind because, well, I've done a lot of math and figured that the advantage to having a "smooth" rotation is much better than having the extra little bit of crit.

7. We raid from 7pm-12pm EST Sun & Weds. we require members to attend at least 85% of the raids. That means being online, prepared, and ready for invite at 7pm. Do these raid times work with your current schedule?
Very well, my current guild runs 3 days a week, but I'd prefer 2 days with longer time windows.

8. How do you prepare yourself for a raid?
Check on my flasks, check on my speed pots, make sure I have some extra fish, Rawr all my stuff so I see what's BiS (which I don't do so much anymore, considering I have all my gear memorized), shut my door to the world and just zone in on the game.

9. On a scale from 1-10 rate your in game ability/reflexes in PvE and tell us why you think you are that rating: (10: Rarely ever get hit with abilities that are avoidable, 1: Often get hit with avoidable abilities)
9. I avoid mostly everything. A wide camera angle helps, and DBM helps more.about those very much, but other than that I'm almost never caught in dangerous situations. Blink, my rocket boots, and my ice block make sure of that. Also, I just got a new computer that dominates everything I've ever gamed on before, and it helps a *lot* considering I used to raid on a laptop.

10. On a scale from 1-10 rate your tolerance on progression nights and tell us why you think you are that rating: (10: Are you a person that is able to learn from wipes and improve the next attempt. 1: Are you a person that gets discouraged and distracted easily)
8. While I get distracted easily, I usually make myself some food before raid-time, shut my door, put my phone on the carpet so I don't hear it, and just focus for the 4 and a half hours my guild puts in a day.

11. On a scale from 1-10 rate your ability to take, sometimes very harsh, criticism and tell us why you think you are that rating: (10: Are you the kind of person that can take advise and constructive criticism and learn from it, or 1:will you cry and gquit.)
I'd give myself an 8 or 9, as long as there's justification for it.

12. What are your views on the passing out of/receiving loot?
Loot council is wonderful. I have a number of issues with the need/greed system, but honestly, I figure that if I'm running with a group every week, it's in their best interests to gear me up, too.

13. What can you offer to the raid/guild?
I'm a good raider, patient with the runs, and I don't mind getting stuck on a boss as long as I know we have the skill to take it down. If you want to know about my personality, contact me, I'm available whenever.

14. What are your in-game goals for WoW?
It used to be all about downing the Lich King, but I'm trying to put WoW as sort of a staple of my week now so I can raid consistently and with a good group of friends. Other than that, it'd be nice to beat Thrall to a pulp every once in a while.

15. If you are accepted what do you expect from the guild?
I'd love to see an active guildchat, above all. I hate being in guilds where nobody talks! But other than that, I need to see that members are making an active effort to show up on raid nights and make progress on these bosses.

16. Do you know anyone currently in Heroes of the Command?
Nope, I recognize Raigaz's name, but I don't remember where from. Still, I do like meeting new people :)

17. Why do you want to join Heroes of the Command?
I looked you guys up and saw you were doing real well in ICC, so I did some research and thought I'd app for your guild to get to know you a little better. Plus, I've heard you guys are recruiting ranged deeps? That'd be nice :) In any case, I encourage you guys, please, please message me if you have the chance! I want to get to know you guys if I'm going to be running with you for the next long while.

So I made a tl;dr version of my app, cause I thought it was long as it was. Anyways, hope to hear from y'all soon!

-Sha

Just letting you guys know, I am still applying, and I'd love to try out a run through ICC on Weds. My internet was out at my new apartment over the past week, and we got it set up just yesterday, so I'm letting you guys know that I'm all set from here on out.
