View Full Version : Something I never knew about HW2

HW2 had an utter crap campaign, it just sucked: the story was so confused and random that noone could possibly have a clue what was going on; the campaign was full of OP ships and ridiculousness of all kinds; auto-harvest was cool, but even worked when you were fleeing the battlefield to avoid a mega-nuclear explosion like destruction of the Bentus; missions were generally pretty boring.

However, something I didn't know, or at least that I don't remember knowing was this:

Hardest: Homeworld 2. They literally count up your army and resources at the end of the mission, determine what ships you focused on, and give the enemies the counters to those ships in significantly greater numbers. Yeah. That's fair. Pretty much the only way to get through the campaign is to sell all your ships at the end of each mission, so the enemies have about 2 fighters at their disposal instead of colossal fleets built specifically to destroy yours.

I remember I did get through the campaign without that (cause I didn't know it would have helped me), but that actually seems like a very cool feature, I wish it was in more games TBH, but then it mostly requires the 'persistent army/fleet', though I always liked that aspect anyway.

Doe anyone know some games that have persistent armies and similar?
