Nork Deddog in a Valkarie or Vendetta?

Can nork go in a valk or vendetta and for that matter can ogryn go in a vendetta?

Valkyries (of which Vendettas are a variant, and bound by the same rules) cannot carry Ogryns, capital O, the unit type.

So, if you want to be a really beardy rules lawyer, you can carry Nork Deddog in a Valkyrie or Vendetta, since he isn't an Ogryn, he's Nork. BUT that would be one hell of a cheesy thing to do.

Had a discussion on this with Bing, the Springfield manager, and we came to the conclusion that you could indeed carry him on a Valkyrie. Remember he can go with a command squad that is all Imperial guard. Mike is also correct when he states that Nork is not an "ogryn" per say. He does not have their restrictions when it comes to Valkyries. (he is a smart one). As for how beardy it is... I think this was intentionally written in this matter because he is an HQ unit with a command squad. I would also say the beardy is in the eye of the beholder, wouldn't you agree Mike?...Mr 9 Valkyrie player? :D

That said, point of yours proven exactly by my rationale ... choose 9 valks BECAUSE they rock? beardy; choose 9 valks because you think they're cool? not beardy

Some people are very offended by powergamed lists ... and/or lists that use poorly written rules to their advantage. Beardy players take advantage of every loophole and powerbuild possible, and typically do so in a very "in your face" fashion ... like, HA SO WHAT IF IT'S CLEARLY NOT WHAT THEY INTENDED?!



In this case, Steve - Nork Deddog is a large ogryn bodyguard you can buy for a command squad. He's biologically ogryn.

BUT because he's not an Ogryn, capital letter O, the unit entry, which is the only thing a Valkyrie says it can't carry (namely, it doesn't say it can't carry "Nork Deddogs"), you can - rules as written - carry Nork Deddog in a Valk despite his large bulk, but not any other Ogryns.

take a look at Yriel from C:E, he's got the Autarch rules but isn't an Autarch, technically.

Nork and he fall under the category that while the rules don't say they are fluff specifically says they are.

I definitely wanted to Outflank with Scorpions and Yriel in a Wave Serpent...

I honestly feel that he should not be permitted transport in a Valk/Vend.
