After the drubbing I took at our last Apoc game I've been forced to pretty radically reevaluate my 40k play style. To that end, here's the potential list I'm thinking of running at our next Apoc game.
(for those who don't know, the restrictions are, no more than 1k in superheavies, only 1 D weapon, no more than 2k in vehicles/MCs, and vehicles/MCs can't go into the center objective area)
here's the list:
Avatar - 155
7x Brightlance wave serpents - 945
4x Bladestorming Dire Avengers - 608
3x 6man Firedragon squads - 288
(this is my 2k force that I'll be running in regular games, and what I would bring if I played in the side game again)
Revenant Titan with 2x Sonic Lances - 800
Shadow Sect of Karandas (Karandas, 40 scorpions) - 1173
(this would be my "drop in" force if I played in the side game)
total - 3969
I'm at 1900 on the MC/Vehicles, which I feel a little bad about, but waveserpents are crunchy enough that I don't think the total commitment is overpowering.
Obviously the foot troops go in the waveserpents, the avatar trying to keep pace to ensure they're fearless when they get shot back at. The shadowsect warps from one terrain piece to wherever the juiciest target is, and the Rev drops two wound on 3+ AP2 hellstorm templates to deal with concentrations of infantry.
Thoughts?
(oh, and 1st post on SGi forums!)
