Mic probs

Can anyone help me.

my mic doesnt work on my pc.

spec pentium 4 2.8 ghz
512 ram
realtek ac'97 5.1 surround sound card.
windows xp home edition sp 2

everything to do with recording on windows has been turned on n still no joy. even changed mics and still i cant get it to work :help:

i have that problem, too.
i think it's the realtek thingy. mine came built into my mobo, and works like shit.
actually, i went and got a sound blaster, and that one didnt work either.....

i think this mobo is cursed

btw, what is your mobo?
