What’s up guys

First off, I will tell you about myself – Aromanas - or "Aro" which is what most people in game call me. My real name is Sam, I am 19 years old and will be turning 20 in a couple months. Anyhow, I graduated high school in 2007 and my passion is video game and game design. I plan on going to college with hopes of starting a career in that field. I currently live in a suburb-ish town called Westborough, which is right next to Worcester in good old Massachusetts. Yeah go ahead, bash me if you like, but I’m a Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins fan and love my Irish background. Although I’m not one of those fighting Irish types I like to keep things peaceful :)

WoW History

I have been playing the game World of Warcraft for around three years now and at least for me, it has never lost any of its lustre. I started out playing with two of my real life friends Joe and Jon and that was fine and dandy until my friend Joe stopped playing at level 25 and hasn’t come back to the game since then. My friend Jon leveled his warlock with my paladin up to about level 50, and then he stopped playing alliance and started playing horde. I was then forced to level by myself and learn how to play the paladin the correct way through trial and error.

The first raiding guild I joined was Midnight Jokers. I was quickly moved through the ranks and made an officer because of my head strong leadership skills. I eventually left Midnight Jokers because the guild master was dating one of the other officers and it basically turned into a duo-dictatorship and I did not wish to be part of a guild like that.

I then joined a guild called Darkmoon. I raided as holy in this guild for about six month (SSC & TK) until I found out one of the main raid leaders was giving one of his alts dkp when he would never actually raid with that toon. Then out of nowhere switches his main to a new toon and transferred all his dkp from his current main and his alt to the new rogue with an automatic 400 dkp and I wasn’t gonna stay in a guild that did something as shady as that.

After that, I joined Darkstorm where I raided with my mage and got to clear all of Mount Hyjal (with the exception of Archimonde) and had BT on farm by the end of TBC. My issue with Darkstorm was that they would play favorites too much and often my good RL friend Jon (who did finally come back to the alliance) and was in Darkstorm with me would never get a raid spot because one of the officers who played the same class did not want competition for gear. It got to the point where we would be raiding 5 nights a week, my friend would sign up for three weeks straight of raids and not even get a spot in any raid because that officer was loot hungry.

This brings me to the guild I recently left, which was Horked. Great group of people for the most part. There was however a lot of drama though and people leaving in the middle of raids, which severely slowed down our raid progression. Well that and the lack of incentive to better the raid as a whole and progress.

I do not want to come off as bashing these guilds. I just want to state the facts about my history and why I have not found a guild yet that I can truly call home. I am really just looking for a guild that I can stick with for the long run and where I can sincerely consider my guildies good friends.

I have cleared in wrath –

25 man Naxx, OS and Vault/ 10 man Naxx, OS, Vault and Maly

What I can bring to you

I am a full time, dedicated raider that will always come prepared, possibly over prepared most of the time. I make sure to always have at least 20 mana, health, and haste potions at all times, as well as two Flasks of Frost Wyrm, 10 symbols of divinity (DI reagents), and 400 Symbols of Kings. Yeah I know its a bit much but I like to have extra just in case someone in the raid runs out, then I have extra and can give them a 100 stack.

Also, I am never late to a raid. If I can’t make it on time which is like 1/100 raids, if that, then I will let an officer know ahead of time so they can replace me or do whatever they feel is best for the raid as a whole. I also am very knowledgeable about the game and have done much research about the game and my class to maximize myself as a player and bring my A game to every single raid or whatever it is I may be doing.

My availability is very open and I have no problem meeting your current raid schedule times.

Who I know in HotC and who have I grouped with

So far I have only done a few things such as three or four heroics with clent's warrior tanking and Gadi on his hunter. I have done some WG and bg's with Cammy and Kathilla, and yes she told me about her cherry story and I do say, I enjoyed it immensely. I also did a pug 25 man vault with Kathilla on my warrior and then a 10 man vault with people from HotC on my pally. I will also be attending the raid this Sunday with my friend who is also applying to your guild --Labradorian.

Alright now that you guys are now sick of reading what i have wrote I wont take too much more of your time reading my app. To sum up why I want to be in HotC - basically I’m tired of having to leave guilds because I don’t enjoy the leadership or social atmosphere. I want a guild that I can stay with for the long haul and make some great friends in as well as raid some end game content. I know you guys are serious when it comes to raiding and have a tight group of people and that is what exactly what I’m looking for in a guild.

If you guys have any questions feel free to send me a whisper in game (Aromanas) or send me a message on AIM my screen name is Eastsidesk8r45. I am also in hotchat and on the forum/shoutbox. Hope to hear from you guys and thank you for giving me the opportunity to put in an application with Heroes of the Command.

Solid app. We're a little tight on melee spots, but you never know when something will open up and good depth in the roster is always nice.

The app process can be very long and you need to be very persistent, but trust me when I say it was one of the most worthwhile things I have ever done in this game.

Contact Corb (Melee DPS Officer and ret pally extraordinaire) and/or Mikevbrandt (GM) and make sure to get to know people in the guild.

I've talked to Aro alot in the past couple days and we did some pvp/WG/vaults too. Great attitude, willing to help out and I think he'd be a great addition to hotc! Looking forward to seeing you in action sunday :)

be persistent, chatty and patient and it is definitely 100% worth it in the end! Maybe i'll eventually tell you more stories than the one about CherryJuice ;)

Pretty much what Ifro said. Contact Corb or Mikevbrandt in game, talk to people on the shoutbox, and join hotchat in game and try to get into as many runs with people from HotC as you can.

Stay as active as you can by chatting with the HotC folks and be persistent but not annoying throughout the application process.

Ill be honest, Hotc is not currently looking for melee class right now.

This dos not mean we ignore applicants or left them in the dark. Your already in touch with a couple of veteran members, in the right channel and attending an alt raid.

Be patient about the application process as it can take a while, especially with more than enough melee ready to raid Ulduar.

Aro definately showed good form and great patience last night. As is already stated on Lab's app he was great to have along with a couple fresh to 80 toons.

Hey guys just wanted to let you know that I fixed my app and that I will be now be applying as Holy. I changed a few things in my post such as my armory link and looking forward to seeing what you have to say. Just going back to my holy roots and excited to get back into raid healing and yes I know once I go holy I can't switch to ret and yes I am perfectly fine with that.

We can't have another Aro in the guild. Either use your full name, or come up with a new nick name. Here are some possible suggestions:

Arom
Manas
Nas
Oman
Roman
A

Good luck!

Edit: Oh yeah, there's also the $25 name change thing. That would really show your conviction for joining HotC.

Edit #2: The previous edit was a joke. The rest of the post is dead serious.

Consider the above to be in blood.

I had the opportunity to talk with Aromanas last night about healing and him switching his application to a holy paladin app. He and I had a chance to chat for awhile, as long as Labby and myself.

Aromanas even respecc'd for me last night so I could see what some of his stats were and his healing gear.

I would definitely recommend getting in on some runs with some of the members as holy if you can, and definitely keep talking to members in the guild.

Looking forward to getting to talk with you more. :)

Arom- I can deal with that one but not perfered

Manas- Im not sure how I feel about this one but I could deal

Nas- Kinda sounds like ass when said lol

Oman- I could get confused for my name being called when someone says "Oh man! this boss is huge" for instance

Roman- I like this one surprizingly even though im not roman

A- Well this one im not sure about since lab is candian and she says "Aye" sometimes and I would also get confused

I think anything would be better than my last guilds nickname for me " A Roman Ass" :)

3 now. I've not got the chance to run with Roman(my choice,) as Holy quite yet, but i've ran some heroics while he was ret and I was impressed. If his healing is as good as his DPS he has my vote.

Based on Vent from last night I believe that Aroma is now his shortened name.

I think we were clued in to another possible nickname last night, but unfortunately it was mentioned far too late in the evening and I can't recall what it was. . .

In all seriousness - Aro did great job in Naxx and brought a good attitude to the raid. Keep up the good work.

I think it was Honeynut.

And sorry about Aroma... but we've already got an Aro... and he's one of our healers too.

And the two pands thing was really never worked out. I still get confused on occasion. My basic rule is if someone's praising Pand, that's me, and if someone's yelling at Pand, that's Pandoria :P (Um... Pand.oria)

Hey HotC'ers

I ran with Aro and Lab on a couple 10 man's recently. Very nice people and good players.

Good luck on your apps!

Aro did well in our 10 man Maly/Sarth kills this past weekend. Had a few hiccups but worked through them smoothly.

Aro has respec'd holy and can no longer run 5 mans with Lab... this is bad for them. Get them into 10 man runs so they can see eachother.

Once again very pleased with our app healers. Took a severely undergeared tank through Naxx and turned several highly wipeable situations into one shots. Impressive.

You guys have been great to me and I wish you all good luck with everything I just can't truely be happy playing a spec Im not 100% crazy about. Thanks for the runs and I wish to still stay in hotchat for any help I can be to people. Take care :)
