Not sure whose been following news or tech sites.
but microsoft had issued a notice yesterday to stop using internet explorer for the time being while they created a patch for IE to close a major security hole.
Many people ignored this as they don't use IE anymore BUT some do and I thought this maybe a good idea to post as I am not 100% sure if Windows Updates done last night downloaded and installed this patch. And even if you don't use IE (5,6,7 or 8Beta) in Windows XP Internet explorer is a ''native'' program which was built into the operating system so you may have still been affected.
http://www.microsoft.com/protect/computer/updates/bulletins/200812_oob.mspx - you do have to use IE to get this update from the microsoft website though :(
Microsoft link to info and patch. :)
Good luck and hopefully no one got exploited.
