Character Essentials:

Name: Dragontamer (Currently Dragonmauler of Cenarius, but I will take back my original name when I return to Dalaran).

Race: Night Elf

Class: Druid

Armory Link: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Cenarius&n=Dragonmauler (Pre-3.02 bear gear).

Other gear: Cat gear is of similar qualilty, but almost a complete gear swap to include more rogue gear; also includes the T6 pants and Staff of the Forest Lord. Healing gear is equally distributed from T4 to T6 gear (I have served successfully as a healer in BT). Have a complete set of SR gear for Mother and FR gear for the Flames of Azzinoth.

Experience: Kara 11/11, ZA 6/6, Gruul's 2/2, Magtheridon, SSC 5/6, TK 4/4, MH 4/5, BT 8/9. Attempted Vashj, Archimonde, and Illidan.

Goals: To explore and beat as much of the game's content as possible without a hardcore time commitment (raiding five times a week is not an option for a married man and father of four). I am almost strictly a PvE player.

Why I left Dalaran: After Lux Socius fell apart, I left because few quality guilds on this server start their raid times late enough for me (your Wednesday start time will require I leave work early, but I can manage that one day a week). Cenarius, as a West Coast server with a number of quality guilds, offered more options and Preatorian Guard was recruiting for ferals.

Why I am returning: PG disintegrated, and with the expansion coming, I am returning to Dalaran to rejoin my family here for the run to 80. Quite frankly, I also like the people on Dalaran a lot more. I expect to put the transfer through this weekend.

Why I want to be in Heroes of the Command: Like Preatorian Guard before it broke up, HotC pursues quality raiding, not quantity raiding. The guild has also demonstrated long term stability.

What I have to Offer Heroes of the Commend:
1) High quality play. I may not be a server-wide all-star, but I know the fight, know my job, and do it well at the T6 level. I know how to use all my forms to best advantage.
2) Solid attendance. I've averaged just shy of 90%. I am dedicated in my use of whatever signup system the guild uses so raid leaders will have no surprises.
3) Adaptability. Though I consider myself a tanking specialist, I am willing to server in any role you assign me. I will respec on demand if necessary.
4) Primary motivation is progression and enjoying the people. Loot is secondary.
5) No drama. Being a guild officer is a REALLY hard job, one I sure wouldn't have the time or patience for. I respect that and will do everything I can not to make it any harder.
6) I know the numbers as I am an avid theorycrafter.
7) I have a good tactical mind and have successfully contributed to winning raid strategies. However, I also know when to shut up and let the raid leader do his job.
8) Loyalty. On Dalaran, I stayed with Lux Socius for two years, and on Cenarius I stayed with Praetorian Guard for four months. In both cases my departure was caused by the disintegration of the guilds rather than any desire to leave on my part. I have never left a guild on bad terms.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to serving with all of you.

Sincerely,

Dragontamer

Hey Dragon,
This is a bit of an awkward time to be applying, with WLK right around the bend. There's been a waning of interest in raiding across the board, and I expect it to continue until level 80.
Additionally, HotC currently has a wealth of experienced and persistant druids. Two feral, one balance and two resto, which have pretty much showed up to over 80% of T6 raids. There really is no room for more druids in that lineup.
No one knows what level 80 raiding will look like, and it's impossible to recruit with Naxx in mind.

So - I recommend you join the hotchat channel and try to get to know existing members. There may be opportunities for off-night runs and such.

Even when actively recruiting, our application process is longer than most and requires the applicant to be constant and persistant (albeit not a nuisance, please).

I can't promise that we'll be making many /ginvites before level 80 is here, so keep that in mind.

Shifta gave you the honest $.02, Dragon, and I urge you to ponder whether you wish to be in HotC, or be raiding every raid in a raid guild. We can't offer another druid the raiding time of the latter at this time.

That being said, we've always got a slightly open door when it comes to the kind of people (irrespective of class) in the guild that we want here. So, chat with Shifta, catch me in game if you can (Mikevbrandt), and good luck on your app ... the qualities we look for the most in the app process are persistence, dedication and patience.

Hi Shifta & Mike,

Well the fact that raiding is winding down is not an obstacle. I'd like to get Illidan or Archimonde before WotLK, but I'm more interested in the right guild for when raiding begins again at level 80. You'd have lots of opportunity to evaluate me along the way.

Too many druids is another issue of course, and if there's no room, so be it. On the other hand, as I pointed out above, raid times on this server at most other guilds tend to be a problem for me. As a result, it's not like I am passing up a ton of opportunities with anyone else to warm the bench until the world changes. I'm willing to take the bet that sooner or later, an opportunity will open.

It'll be good for you too because you'll have a very flexible character and a player you know in reserve if you do have some turnover on the way to 80. Furthermore, until the guild starts seriously raiding at 80, I expect grouping for 5-mans would be ad hoc and there always seems to be a need for a tank or healer.

So I've been warned but I'll pursue membership anyway. I'll start making contact and see how things go. Fair enough?

Very fair. And mentioning that you're willing to heal (as in be a full-time main resto druid kinda guy) would be a huge feather in your cap. So if you're flexible about the whole feral thing, then that's good.

Definately.

Actually, I enjoy playing all the various roles. That variety is the main charm of the druid class.

Progression > Roles or Loot

Hey Dragontamer,

Were you in Dystinction briefly?

Indeed I was and I remember you as well. Would have stayed but for the early start times on multiple weekdays.

Rumor is that I didn't miss much though...

You missed lots of drama :)

Our guild bank was also stolen. But yeah, in the end we had to give up and disband, I think by then most of the people you knew were long gone.

Anyway, in regards to your app, I'll say to the rest of HoTC, I remember being very sad when Dragontamer left the server, he was a good tank (and I always have a soft spot for good tanks) More importantly, though I didn't know him for long, I remember him as having the kind of personality that would fit in well at HoTC. I think he's worth keeping an eye on if he can stick out the recruitment process. :)

Just wanted to let you know that I'm unfortunately going to be on a plane at the start of tonight's raid so I won't be able to fill in. Business >.<

Hey Dragontamer,

Just wondering how your app is coming along. Are you in? or still hanging in?

I've been away for a bit, and won't be back before Friday now, so I was just curious.

Cheers.

DT has been a mainstay of /hotchat for the past couple of weeks. He's offered to fill in raid spots when needed and has participated in guild pvp.

Like I mentioned in my first post, this is an awkward time in the WoW cycle and your patience is noted and appreciated.
