As you probably know, Downfall, my current guild, recently stopped raiding, and most of the active members transferred off the server. I would like to continue raiding, preferably without having to leave the server, as I have many friends here. HotC's part time raid schedule sounds ideal, as well.

I know that you are not currently recruiting. Indeed, Lucilyna, who I understand is your current tankadin, was a friend when we were in Nullus Secundus together. My major qualifications as a second protection paladin is that I am experienced in all of Sunwell through M'uru, as either a tank or healer, and some strategies for M'uru call for 2 prot pallies.

I have yet to leave a raiding guild unless it was already falling apart. I was in Nullus Secundus through Illidan, until officer burn-out finally caught up with them. Pre-BC I was in Flame of the Phoenix, which I later determined was too casual for my tastes, though I didn't realize it until after the majority of the raiders transferred to Drenden.

My prot gear and spec can be found here (http://ctprofiles.net/193572). Since I'm not currently raiding, I am likely to be specced for PvP or heroics, and my armory is therefor not representative.

I also enjoy the other aspects of playing a paladin, if not quite as much. Because they were not my primary specs, the gems and enchants are not necessarily maximized. Were I to switch full time, I would of course rectify that right away (I have quite a few badges banked on various characters).

A note on my build: My current gemming represents the desires of my most recent tank officer. I would have no problem regemming or respeccing as required, and would be happy to discuss the reasons behind my choices. Additionally, various fights have different requirements, and I have quite a few pieces of alternate tank gear for boss or AoE tanking.

Thanks for your application. By all accounts, from in-guild people who know you, you're a top notch fella and player. Unfortunately, as you astutely point out, we're VERY full on paladins. We've got luci as our sometimes-prot pally, Mikhael as our now-returning sometimes-prot pally, and several excellent healing paladins.

Regardless, we're not the type to overlook quality applicants. If you still wish to pursue what will inevitably be more of a fnf type app (at least for the remainder of BC) with raiding spots available as space allows only, please contact me in-game (Mikevbrandt), as well as pally officers (i.e. Corb, Mikhael), and really any members. Join /hotchat as well, and try to get into 5-mans, runs of various sorts, etc.

While HotC prides itself on providing a stable, permanent home to its members, I can understand the hesistance of a veteran raider in applying to a guild where spaces are extremely limited. Additionally, while no member has ever sought a raid spot patiently enough and not earned it, I can understand the need to raid at all times for many people.

Think hard on your goals in-game ... do you seek a place to raid a great deal, or do you seek a stable home, or do you seek both? We may or may not be able to provide one of those things for you.
