Armory Profile (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dalaran&n=Pandia)

Current Guild: Dystinction

Grats on taking down Illidan, HoTC, and no, this is not why I'm applying :).

I am currently the healing officer for the guild Dystinction which has struggled since it's inception back in February. This passed weekend, the guild leader decided that it was time to end the struggles and move on, and as hard as this is to do, I believe it to be the right decision. I have stayed with Dystinction since it invited me, mostly BC-untested, back in February, even while some of my friends walked away.

I have chosen to apply to HoTC because my very good friend Aureliuz is here and he feels it is the kind of raiding environment we've both been looking for since the Eminence folded pre-BC.

My raiding experience pre-BC is extensive. I was a member of Obscured Reasoning for about a year-and-a-half and was on the very first OR raid of MC. We progressed into BWL, and then AQ40, before I took a leave of absence to finish my Masters thesis. When I returned, the healing class was full, and I took the opportunity to move to Windriders, which folded about two months after I joined, and so I followed several friends to Eminence where I met Aureliuz, and raided Naxx regularly. Post BC, I was a member of M&M, though I admit to being burnt out at this point (Eminence was a very demanding, and unforgiving guild) and left the server (and Pandia) to raise a Blood Elf Mage elsewhere. I returned to Dalaran in February and was immediately invited by friends into Dystinction.

Because of Dystinction's struggles, and my determination to stick with them, my post BC experience is not as extensive, I have cleared most of SSC, half of TK, and the first boss in Hyjal. I have seen the first boss in BT, but have never downed him.

I am, what I like to call a dedicated raider. I make every effort to attend all raids (my raid attendance with Dystinction over the last 3 months was 100%). I believe in being outside an instance before raid invites start, fully prepared, fully repaired, with all elixers, flasks, food buffs and reagents at the ready. I am a conscientious healer, and follow orders to the best of my abilities. To paraphrase Aureliuz's idea of a raider, I show up, shut up, and do my job. I am less interested in the gear, than the experience (though I will not suggest that there are not one or two pieces out there for which I could get quite excited.)

I am a mature player - 26 or over, or as I like to describe it - "Old enough to lie about it", and I usually play in the evenings, 4 until midnight, though my schedule is quite open at the moment.

So that's me in a TLDR post. I look forward to hearing from you.

(Oh, almost forgot to mention that I am also applying to Victorious Secret for much the same reasons I am applying here. It has also been highly recommended to me, and I have a very good friend in that guild too.)

Pandia,

First, thanks for applying. Your background is strong, and you've been on the server for a while, both good things to know.

Please contact Arodros (priest officer) in-game, as well as me (Mikevbrandt), and you can contact other healer officers like Corb, Balhtem, Shifta, and really any Hero you see.

Join hotchat please, and get to know members by getting involved in runs and "pestering" us about whatever you can think of. Persistence is key to application in Heroes. Serious applicants earn their way in almost uniformly, but you have to work at it.

While we do not preclude you from applying to other guilds at the same time, we consider ourselves to be an excellent place to make a permanent WoW home, and look for applicants who are serious about joining a home for the rest of their WoWlives as it were. Do us and yourself the favor of making sure you know where you want to go, and then committing to that process. Our app process takes longer than some - if you're the kind of person we want, I guarantee you you're the kind of person any guild will want, and you'll get an invite offer from VS sooner than from here in most cases. Consider strongly where you wish to be, and pursue that course ... the first invite is not always the best ;)

I've raided with Pandia for quite some time - starting out back in Eminence when I was the priest officer and we were startin AQ40. She's a very skilled priest, but also a great person - on of my best friends from the game. Even after nights of wipes learning new bosses she brings passion and enthusiasm - which picks up everyones spirits. Overall I think she's a good match for the attitude and approach at Heroes.

To be quite honest, it's rough being so far behind. The fact that you guys are so much further in content than I've ever seen isn't a pro to me. I feel a bit like a tool in most of the fights, not having the chance to learn the details you can't learn from videos and strats, like where everyone tends to stand, and where I should stand, where to move, where I can expect key people to be and what's the best thing to do if I do get into trouble.

But meh, I'll catch up, and in the meantime, all I can really do is pay very close attention on the fights I do get to join and try to be an asset. I did really enjoy the Kael fight on Tuesday night, learning at pretty much the same rate as most everyone else.

And at the same time, it is nice to tell people I'm apping with a guild that's cleared BT. :nyah:

I remember the days when it was kind of a shock to find another Canadian around, now it seems we're everywhere. We're taking over. :fence:

I'm in Niagara (Welland to be precise.) My aunt and cousins live up in Hamilton, she's just off of Plain's Rd, not far from the Burlington Go Train. I think it's still Hamilton, but it'd be pushing Burlington.
