TLSC Needs a website logo

I need two logos: one that will blend in nicely with the darker color scheme and one that will blend in nicely with the lighter scheme.

NO STARS, just something with the text "the Lone Star Command", and a fluidy or exotic background partially transparent.

Oh and make the text sleek and cool looking.

how much time do we have allotted for this? i'd like to take a shot at it, even if it gets eclipsed by forsaken. we really need to do something about these skins, but at the same time, i dont think we want to do a rush job. any ideas on color schemes? hex codes would be nice. i personally wanted to do something in blue/grey, but that might just be overflow from one of my previous projects. who is gonna be in charge of making this skin? i'd assume stealth, but he seems to have his hands full with admin stuffs.

The fonts don't seem to blend, due to the odd boxes around them ... could be a less "trekkie" font. The lines in the bottom corners seem to restrain the less-restrained nature of the original banners.

I guess that's what the straight lines and font-style do, IMO, is "restrain" or "organize" the image, which is counter to our general image.

I put it up at the top, and it looks like shiite. Add a color filter to it which is similar to that of the dark color scheme and it might work then.

Also, make it 950 px wide.

i don't think an animated gif will work, it gets to big to fast, i had a banner with 16 colors and a VERY simple animation on it and it was 300k after i compressed it

Why don't you put the Title in the bottom right corner instead of the center? Just to separate us from the norm.

I was in favor of such an approach. Fors did the text-work, and it was his choice to place it there, so his ability to move it if he so chooses. I think it would be cool to have the text at least on the bottom, if not bottom right.

I like this one, however, I am not sue that the colour scheme would fit either the light or dark background.

maybe you should post some more in lighter or darker colours. You seem to have a good flair for this stuff.

However, this was just a prototype, and I didn't even save it as a .psd.
(Even though that was an accident...)
I might design a new one to fit certain tastes and perhaps color schemes.
Perhaps someone could fill me in on the current demands?

Marbzz, you seem to have some talent with graphics. I'd suggest talking to fors about joining the graphics department, even. Frankly, the graphic itself is good, but maybe doesn't suit TLSC as well, only because -- while we play a variety of games -- we have a spacey origin, and this seems like it's got more of a historic style to it, or something ... it looks good, but is not quite TLSC. You are certainly welcome, however, to work out anything you'd like to ... you're a member, and your input, suggestions and work are all highly regarded. Thanks.

Okay guys, these images were orignally going to be used as backgrounds for an animated logo, but I decided that the file would be too big, so therefor I figured I'd show you what I had, see what everyone though of it and then go from there. Here are the blank backgrounds.

A few things to note. First the Dark Logo is lighter than the dark named logo. Second, because I was going to animate this background the right side of them all is kinda blank. Lastly, I havn't compressed the files so their probly a bit bigger than they'll actually turn out to be. Let me know what you think.
