About My Character:

Name: Bobkat
Level 70 Night Elf Druid
Current Spec: 0/47/14
Professions: Mining / Jewelcrafting
Hours of Play: My job has the potential to change what shift I work bi-monthly so this can vary greatly. I prefer 3rd shift and play after work on my work days and overnight on my days off when on 3rd.
Type of Application: Friends and Family

Update: My character is now listed in the armory correctly!!! http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dalaran&n=Bobkat

My character currently wears an equal amount of epic, rare, and uncommon equipment. I spend most of my time doing dailies, running battlegrounds, or doing arena matches with my partner Grineus, who has also relocated to Dalaran. The battlegrounds and arena matches are where all of my epics have come from. I have enough points to purchase more epics, but have elected to wait for Season 4 arena gear to come out first.

The raiding experience that I have comes from before the burning crusade was released and came from UBERs runs and a couple of ZG runs. The guild I was apart of at that time was located on the server Illidan and was disbanded because a free character transfer became available and the leaders chose to disband to change servers. I then decided to change servers to Garithos because a number of friends played on that server. Over time these friends started to leave Warcraft up until about a week ago when only my arena partner remained. We both decided to move to Dalaran because I have some friends who play there and I had heard the experience of playing on a high population server is more enjoyable then a very low population server such as Garithos. One of my friends that plays on Dalaran is Ryan (Kiltryn) whom I work.

Ryan mentioned that when we arrived on Dalaran we should try to apply to the Heroes of the Command because it is a very friendly guild that he has really enjoyed being a part of. I do not feel I am ready to be a part of any large raids that may take place, but would like very much to be a part of 5 man regular or heroic instances and possibly Kara. Depending on how my performance is in these groups I would hope I could be considered for larger raids at a later time.

About Me:

My name is Chris and I live in Illinois. A lot of people tell me that I’m tall but I don’t think 6’6” is really THAT tall. I graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology. When I’m not working or playing Warcraft I am usually watching movies or playing tennis with my fiancé. We are going to be married on October 10th. We both also enjoy playing games on the Nintendo Wii. My arena partner Grineus who I mentioned above is actually the best man of my wedding and is my fiancé’s brother in law.

I have been playing MMOs for a while now, starting with one called Shadowbane which was a full FFA PvP game. Shadowbane is probably responsible for my leaning towards the PvP aspects of the game. I tried many other smaller MMOs before I grabbed Warcraft the day it was released. I have been playing it since its release. I also enjoy playing some first person shooter games, especially the Half-life chain. I just finished Episode Two and was very happy with it.

Well I supposed I should wrap this up because I’m sure your eyes are pretty tired by now. I would like to thank you for considering me as an applicant and I look forward to seeing you all in Azeroth.

I can attest that I do know Bobkat and do work with him. He is a pretty fun guy to work with and did mention how much I like being in Heroes because of the more friendly and family atmosphere it offers, along with no pressure to raid.

The situation both he and Grineus were in on Garithos kind of sucked. First that server has a severly low population. I started a character and never once saw one person in the entire starting zone. Bobkat said that on a typical day you are lucky to see 20 people in Shatt at once. This server also has a 5 Horde to 1 Alliance ratio going on. Beyond that he was in a guild with some friends and they recently hit Kara. It got worse in what sounds like they became very elitist, as in if you didnt have a Kara key they wanted nothing with you and were pretty unwilling to help you get keyed. They also became more hardcore and less casual which is something Bobkat has expressed at work many times that he would like to stay. So he was never able to get the key, thankfully its been lifted.

Bobkat and Grin both understand that the chances on getting in 25man raids are pretty minimal as we are full on all DPS classes. I think they would just like to do smaller 5 and 10 mans along with doing our guild PvP groups. I have already told Bobkat to go ahead and join /hotchat and get to know members. Hes a pretty friendly guy that likes his kitty form. I believe he would like to get into some more tanking roles to learn a lot more of that, so doing the smaller 5 mans and such would be a good learning opportunity and can help some alts out too!

Bobkat, please be very active with the members and get to know us and please practice patience, sometimes applications take a while, but it is completely driven by you and your interaction with the members. I am sure Mike would agree with most of that. I believe Imras is the class leader for Druids, so you may wanna talk to him. I know someone can correct me on that if I am wrong. I am on 3rd shift right now with Bobkat until May, so my interaction is pretty limited to the group that plays after 1am server time, but we do have the same schedules so if I am on he probably is also.

Good luck in the application process!

Exactly what I said for Grin's application - if this is an FnF for Kiltryn, we should move forward with this.

I just wanted to say thanks to Arcturius for bringing me along on a kara run this morning. This was the first time I've run kara and I had a really great time! So thanks again Arcturius, and everyone else who was in the raid as well. I can't wait to do it again.

Bobkat talked to me some last night and seemed quite affable. I think he may have then run some Orgila prequests with Finnion et al.

Keep it up Bob!

Had another great Kara run yesterday morning! Got 18 more badges and honored rep! I really appreciate you all letting me come with on these runs. I am getting enough of a tanking set together now that I may be able to take on some OT responsibilities in these runs too, and I really look forward to being able to contribute as more then just a cute little DPS kitty. I mean, honestly, who is afraid of a cute little kitty pawing at them. B-)

Also wanted to say thanks to Finnion. I've grouped up with him a few times and whether we're doing Ogrilla quests or instances, its always a great time.

Thanks again everyone.

Finnion and his multiple personalities are all quite great.

Bob - I haven't been on contemperaneously with you since our initial chat. What are your usual playtimes?

Have you talked to MVB, the guild leader yet? I suggest you do so.

I work 3rd shift so I am usually either on after work for a few hours at around 08:30 or before work from 19:00 to 21:30. On my days off work I'm usually online off and on through the entire day, but mostly between 20:00 and 06:00. Starting next week I should be off work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights for the next couple of months.

So my schedule is a bit funky from working 3rd shift, but i usually spend a pretty good amount of time on wow, just mostly during the 3rd shift hours. The past two weeks have been a little harder to find time to play also because one of the weeks my fiance and I went to spend our days off with her family in Minnesota. The other week I traveled to Chicago on my days off for my grandmother's funeral. Things should be back to normal next week though, so I hope to see everybody more then.

As far as talking to MVB, I have seen him online a couple of times, but I havn't talked with him yet because he's been in some large raids when I've seen him online and I didn't want to bother him while he was busy with those. Just need to catch him when there isn't a raid going on.

Bobkat, I'm sorry we haven't had time to talk as much as we'd both like.

In the interim, while I am reconnecting the internet at my new place and such, please talk at length with Shifta when you can. I do not wish for you to be on permanent hold simply on account of me. Work with Shifta to gain exposure in whatever ways are reasonable.
