Good afternoon everyone, here's my app, it's pretty lengthy.

I am in the same guild with Sempronia, who a few of you know now, and am in the exact same boat. I started playing WoW July 2006 when I saw two of my friends (two officers/raid leaders in Bushido, Dunkelheit and Osyrus/Icarys) playing this game I had never heard of (was in grad school at the time), picked up a time card, installed the game, and love it. I love Bushido and all of the people in it, it is a great social, casual guild, very tightly knit, and we do everything we can to help each other. However lately, as Sempronia has explained in his application, we have not been progressing for some time, despite the raid leaders and officers doing everything we can in and out of game to ignite a new raiding spark for 25-mans and progressing past ZA. This has not happened and in all likelyhood, will not happen, which is really disappointing when we have 12-15 people that really, really want to get raiding, but just can't field the class balance or bodies to get it done right, and we've been trying to get progressing for about 7 months now to no avail. That being said, myself and quite a few of the guildies have hit a massive gear wall where we cannot even find sidegrades for our gear anymore. I have geared up Vishap, my only character, as well as I possibly can given my resources of time, gold, and instances, and I want to see more of the end-game with another close, functional community of mature gamers, and HotC seems like a good match for me.

/rant

so here goes my app, please bear with me:

Character : Vishap, level 70 mage. (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dalaran&n=Vishap) <---Armory link for PvE gear.

Specs: 17/0/44 for arena (which I enjoy), 2/48/11 for PvE. 33/28/0 for fun.
Stats Unbuffed:
Health: 8053
Mana: 8411
Stamina: 484
Intellect: 430
Spirit: 186
Spelldamage:1006
Spellhit: 139 (regemming this weekend for more spellhit in my spellstrike)
Spellcrit: 21.46% base, 30.46% fire
Mana regen: [Sempronia]

For fights where I'll be taking damage and still need spellhit, I use: Uni-Mind Headdress and Breechers of the Occultist. (head/pants). Lose about 20spellhit and 20 damage, and my health/mana go up to ~9000HP/~9400Mana.

Reputations: Exalted with all BC factions except for Keepers of time (1 heroic run from exalted), keyed for all heroics, familiar with all heroics. Keyed for Kara.
Not Keyed for: BT/Hyjal

Raid Experience: 2 MC runs pre-BC, full clears of ZG, AQ 20 once or twice. TBC: SSC to Lurker (not killed), TK to VR, Magtheridon (not killed), Full clear Kara. ZA (downed Eagle/Bear, Fought Lynx/Dragonhawk), Gruul (cleared).

I use http://tc.awenet.com for my dps calculator, which is a great tool and has helped me perform well on every TBC raid I have been to. (I usually edge out sempronia by a few thousand or he beats me by a few thousand at the end of any raid we go on together

I have a full set of PvP gear (10,114 HP/9100Mana, 907spelldamage, 22% crit, 347 resilience when 17/0/44 specced).

I always read up on bossfights if I know I'm going somewhere on any given night.

I can participate in your 3-day a week (Sunday/Wednesday/Thursday-25/25-10) schedule.

I think that covers it. If I missed anything let me know.
-------------------

I have very few upgrades in tier 5 content (Mantle of the Elven Kings/tier 5 Pants/ VR or Hex Lord Malacrass Helm/Serpent-coil Braid, I think that's it). And as you can see from my armory link, all but 3 gear slots are either crafted or purchased, so my gear is just about complete minus a few tweaks or upper Tier 5 upgrades.

Sempronia communicated to me that MVB explained to him the milestone you guys are approaching, and if you have room I would love to be a part of that experience learning and seeing (finally!) the fights in upper Teir 5 and the Tier 6 stuff you all will be experiencing for the first time, and get to know a whole new group of people in the process.

I would love to get into a ZA run or SSC/TK clear-up-to-but-not-including-kael/vashj and show you guys what I'm made of. I am fully aware, as theRoc explained to me, that no high-end raiding guild is short DPS, and you guys have quite the active mage roster, so I have no high hopes of instantly getting in and getting re-graped out.

I do not believe that I have any grouping experience with HotC or any inside references. I think the closest I've been to grouping with you guys is standing next to and inspecting HotC members in the scryer bank:nyah:

Oh, and a little about the man behind the pixels: I am a 26 year old semi-something or other, was going to med school, didn't work out, currently finding myself and use WoW as a nice release after a day in the law office I work in. Considering Pharmaceutical sales repping if I can get my foot in the door, applying to Pharmaceutical (PharmD) school for next fall, but the program I'm applying for is Pharm classes only and doesn't have like 20 credits a semester, just pharm stuff and isn't very schedule-restricting. I currently work 5.5 days a week (half day Saturdays), interviewing for a banker position next week! No more law office junk for me! I am armenian, and make many armenian jokes. I'll throttle back in /hotchat and your mage channel when I log in tonight while I get to know you guys.

Thank you for reading this and considering my application,
- Vish

p.s. - sorry if all that text made your eyes bleed.

Vishap, thanks for applying.

It sounds like Semp's filled you in on some things, which is good.

You'll want to talk to me in game next chance you get, which will also be good.

The most important thing to do will be contacting and talking to Theroc, and Allia, the mage officers. We are *very* full on dps, and while there may be raiding opportunities for mages as a result of periodic inactivity / and the coming inactivity of one of our regular mages, you will likely not see the same kind of every-raid-raiding that you likely see as an officer of Bushido.

So, chat with those two ASAP about the raiding situation, get in on whatever runs you can, and we'll go from there.

Thanks for the quick replies fellas, I really appreciate it. I usually sign on around 7 or so on weekdays, I'll be sure to contact the mage officers when I get out of the office tonight. If you guys are busy killing stuff, I'll send an in-game mail, or just a guildmail through this site and try and set up an appointment for a 10-man where you guys can see me in action.

Officers in Bushido aren't like officers in regular raiding guilds, we're more figureheads, we don't really get priorities or raidslots. We optimize/prioritize on gear/skill and class synergies, though the officers seem to get in a lot more often than not, but that's because our officers are also our best-geared players.

Like I said before, I'm not comping at the bit for the gear upgrades, and have no problem being rotated in/out every other week or something to be fit in, I just want keying, raid experience, and community.

My RL boss is Armenian. Application denied.

No, he really is, but I'm just kidding about the denial (but I thought about it). My RL boss's name is Mike, so you can tell how messed up my life is.

FWIW, officers in HotC get no default raiding priority, other than those who are required (i.e. points guys / MT / raid leader).

Roc, that is fantastically funny to me.

Tell your boss that it's Paklava and not Baklava, and he'll love you. Also tell him that if any turk has a problem with him, you've got his back.

Steel wool comes from armenian armhair and headhair. <-- True

The only thing that can kill an armenian is a Turk, or an armenian woman.

It wasn't the Exxon/Valdeiz(sp), it was my greasy armenian sweat! I'm sorry about that. But my plan came to fruition when the WWF spent 30000 dollars cleaning that seal, they released it, then a killer whale ate it on camera! Does anyone remember that?

---

Be careful around armenians, they're shifty-eyed.

How the heck did you get lucky enough to pick up a Mantle of Nimble Thought pattern on the AH? Its probably been up on our server, what, once, twice? I guess the real question I should be asking is how much you spent on it. O.o

It started when I was scanning the AH for Boots of Blasting pattern, and saw the pattern "mantle of Nimble thought" and says to myself "hey, why not?", as i go to click on it I get "auction no longer exists". In the split second I thought about it and paused, someone nabbed it.

I was nagging Deakon of MoS for about two months this fall, and it hasn't dropped for them in forever.
Then I decided to knock on Downfall's door, and fortunately enough, they had a spare pattern, spoke to Alty and a mage officer to get the OK to "buy" it, and then...

ANYWAY -
I have it now, so that's all that matters:jig:

I abuse emoticons, sorry.

I've been trying to /poke people the day of runs and haven't been having any luck in the context of showing myself to you guys in a raid setting. Just letting you guys know I'm available for your Wednesday's 25-man, or your ZA run for Thursday. Allia told me to speak to Mikhael, so if that ends up irritating you, please blame him.

Allia is actually a chick. :D I know, its hard to believe! Also, on a side note, I won the Mantle of Nimble Thought pattern when it dropped in Hyjal last night. Hazzah!

Lies! Girls don't play this game!:P

I'll double-check genders from now on, sorry!

Grats on the pattern! It looks pretty badass, and the stats are sweet for a tailor pattern, I'm not a spellfire tailor, but if you need a cloth or two to speed things up, my cooldown is up and I :might: have some leftover spellcloth from way back when I could stand the mote of fire farmers. Should be on around 7pm tonight. It's snowing sideways in Providence this morning. It's gonna be a long 6 miles back home tonight!:tantrum:

I do apoligize If no one's gotten back to you on your app in awhile. Things have gotten crazy busy lately.

I regret to inform you that we are entirely full on all dps slots in hotc. We just dont have the room for anyone, not even FnF or part-time raiders (some of our current raiders are even put on our sub list nightly). I do realize you have said that you'll be content with FnF but sadly, we are full and it would be injustice taking you under false pretenses.

G'Luck with whatever you decide to do and feel free to stick around for chat / groups in hotchat and hotmage :)

Allia is, unfortunately, accurate.

Vishap, you've been fantastic in your app process in terms of persistency, but anyone we take in now as FNF will realistically be FNF permanently, at least in a DPS sense. I know that your intent and desire is to raid, and that is not likely to ever be an option for you in HotC. If we took you as FnF, knowing your strong desire to end up raiding, it would only end in a difficult situation.

I do encourage you to stay in touch, should anything ever change, though; and I wish you nothing but luck in finding a guild that suits your schedule and raiding needs. I am sorry we cannot offer it at this time.

Well, thanks for your patience with me guys, I appreciate the opportunity to raid with ya'll that one time and the ZA run, and the 2.75 hour kara clear last week.

I think that I may have borked myself by not applying back in the fall like I was planning to. Everyone is full on raiding mages! Even MoS's second 25-man group that's forming is already full on mages, boo!

Anyone got advice for someone who wants to raid 2-3 nights a week? Everyone else on the server is either full or requires 4 of 5 nights a week attendance, which I really can't make.

And don't worry, you guys seem like a good crew, I think you'll do fine without me, but I'll try and stay active in /hotchat and /hotmage for when you need some muscle.
