I posted this first:

I am the fortunate husband to a lovely Latin girl. We have three daughters and a fourth child due in March of 2005.
I'm the artist behind this aging web comic:
http://www.gamersgonebad.com
I like to play games with mature players. I hate cursing just as much as I dislike being cursed at. I've learned on the 'net to ignore the idiots because lets face it, the Internet is nothing like real life where mom & dad taught us to be polite to the people we meet face to face.
I enjoy RPGs, D&D, action games, real-time strategy games, and just bought World of Warcraft and want to play that with a mature group.
A gamer friend of mine referred me here. He and I play online games together and he came across you all while we were between online games that we both owned.
I really like the concept of the Lone Star Command.
To really know a guy who is also a father, you have to look at his children, so...
My daughters are described as "Oh, you have such beautiful girls" and people quickly add "and so well behaved..." in almost shock in this day and age. The secret? Lots of love and standard discipline.
I've DMed a lot, two of my three Persistent Worlds in Neverwinter Nights ended up on the Top 10 PW's of all time on www.NeverwinterConnections.com ("Ameryth" in the title) -- I know how to help people have fun.
i hope to see you all (or some of you) in WoW soon.

A gamer friend of mine referred me here
that would be me.
I've known him for quite awhile now and played a number of different games with him - including Dow and the open preview weekend of Guild wars to name 2. There good guys (him and his cousin paul) and we have alot of fun gaming together and i am sure they will bring their "fun spirits" with them when they play Dow, WoW and any other game they play.
So simply put, recc'd. There you go David your 1st one, now all u have to do is find and play with other members to earn 2 more.
A good addition here for a fun if (possiblly) casual gamer.

We will someday need a good NWN DM, for sure.
Good luck with your membership evaluation.

That was really quite a fantastic application; I run the WoW guild, in Dalaran server, Alliance, and LardGibs is my partner in guildrunning crime there.
Please add us to friends -- MVB, LardGibs -- and we'll see if we can work on getting you in asap; we'll do our basic "eval," but after that intro, you'll probbaly more than live up to expectations.

Addition: Please note this post was written before laser edited his.
Laser, 1st of all, what does it matter? I have never ever seen a rule anywhere that states a member may not rec anyone outside their division even if the 2 ppl have spent months or years playing games together.
2nd, David is not applying just to become a member of the WoW div, he's applying to join tlsc - thats all of tlsc, we may be separated by divisions but we are all apart of the same community, and anyway he still plays Dow, therefore he would be as much a member our division (with divcom's consent etc) as of the WoW div.
3rd, MVB doesn't seem to have a problem with my rec, and he's the WoW divcom, so why do u?
4th, the question implies, and i do say implies, that i have no bussiness reccing some1 outside of our division (which is nullified anyway because of point 2) but if that were the case then you don't have any bussiness getting involved in it yourself as you are not in the WoW division yourself - that i am aware of though i apologize if this isn't the case.
5th, Now i know what you are getting at, but i earned my reccs, by playing with, and against many members for weeks before even thinking about applying, and I expect others to do the same. But David (and his cousin paul, if he decides to apply) have been earning my recc for months before I even knew of tlsc's existance.
So in conclusion I personally think your question - which although states nothing offensive in particular - implies far more than most was non members would know. But let me just say this, I have, and will never have any interest in your attitude as it is now from what I have witnessed myself. You do try to hide/soften it at times which is commendable but unfortunately you don't do it very well, so please leave me out of it, thank you.

The app is wonderful, the comic is fun, the person seems very nice, and I don't wanna see his recruitment thread become a flame-fest.
If there's any issue, try to resolve it without getting angry, or at least without doing it here, thx.

This will not become a flame fest cos any more posts that may be interpreted as a flame will be deleted by me.
Let this be made clear once more, Reccomendations are just that, Reccommendations. It is ultimately up to MVB if he accepts anyone in his division. One of the best type of reccommendations can come from close friends. From what i can see David is certainly a mature person and TLSC could use a few more of those.
Remember, this is an application and will be treated/managed as such.

Oh quit arguing people, whatever the heck it's about.
Realy liked the commics, and from his writing he seems like someone who we would do good to accept into the command.
Herby recced by me. Cause.

Samwise "What were you doing, anyway?"
Gollum "Sneaking."
FORWARD:
Apologies for the late reply, I thought I had set this thread to e-mail me. Most people have an open wound lying around somewhere and other people the ability to poke it, accidentally or otherwise (and I am not inferring either here, just quoting the words).
I can say that there are just too many things to do in life to get overly worked up so whatever I accidentally caused by asking Steve to vouch for me, please relax. You are all on the same side. I take responsibility for him recommending me because, well, I asked him to after I heard about you all.
MVB, I'll create a character on Dalaran and send you a message. MVB, LardGibs
GUILDS:
Finding a good guild is the key to success in any MMORPG, assuming one likes the game, and other than technical difficulties (of which there are many (http://www.penny-arcade.com/news.php3?date=2005-01-17)) there is really very little to not like about WoW.
My cousin and I have been getting our game on "Earthen Ring RP" because I generally find RPers to be a nicer crowd, or at least more illustriative with their words. I only had to run into someone named "Qtpie" once, and that poor soul was openly ridiculed. I suppose even counter-cultures feel the need to lash out :P
This said, after two guilds, we have yet to find one that actually works together, so we just play by ourselves, the dwarven paladin / human mage combo. Once again, I made a character that looks like my wife. What can I say? She's an obsession (http://www.gamersgonebad.com/2004-08-16.html) far grander than WoW (http://www.gamersgonebad.com/2004-10-08.html).
Assuming Dalaran isn't as crammed as Earthen Ring and the company is as good as I'd hope we might eat 15 levels and head on over. At the very least I'll give it a go.
I can't be sure when this will occur until I talk with my cousin, so don't fear if you don't hear from me until Saturday when everyone's on and has plenty of time.
Thanks all for the kind words and warm reception. I wish I was still drawing actively, but at least I'm having fun.

We have a very sexy guild, and I'll (among others like lard) provide you with equipment and cash to help you level catch-up quickly if you fit the bill for a solid member :)
(which you seem to)
