So tonight, hopefully, I get my first look at mana-tombs with hob and allia. Hopefully dinger is on to tank for us. Halfway through 66, should be able to hit 67 tonight through quests and what not after the run.

Really I have nothing else, I'll most likely end up at the bars later tonight for 2fers, can't beat two for the price of one.

yar! Kathilla is heal spec now too :D I only did mana-tomes like twice on Allia, and that was on heroic, heh. maybe we can convince Nayle to play allia so i can get the escort quest on both my toons done ;)

Because people like me buy them before you! Actually they are rare but I think its because there aren't people farming the mats anymore. Not sure why but I tend to believe it's because people spend way too much time in the Outlands (my #1 problem with the game it turns out).

Jakal is a nub, he should be going to the Crypts, not the Mana-Tombs! Hurry up and hit 70 nub.

Telvazan downed Prince and Nightbane, skipped Aran as we were without locks, and generally sick of the fight.

Rogue's reunited with dps? Does this mean no more band aids?

Good morning.
Hope everyone did well in K-mart last night. I packed 2 more boxes for my move. I'm hiring movers, which I hate to do, but it's a necessary evil. Good think I have no furniture except a bed and a desk. I think the movers will end up costing me about $400. Blech!

We may indeed have a town hall tonight, and Kara went smashingly.

One-shots on prince/netherspite and a retroactive wrap up of the skipped Maiden in a quick 1.5 hours or so.

We skipped maiden/attumen and took our time through Aran on Sunday due to a number of new faces and an alt pally in the raid (Wildcatt gone for a bit, Jon on vacation, Orein mother's day), but did fine. Came back after Heroes and still had a couple non-regulars, but polished off the rest of the instance in gorgeous and fun fashion.

Overfull roster for Maulgar/Gruul/Magtheridon tomorrow will be posted in privvies soon.

What did Prince drop, and did Mik get his Maiden hammer?

I tried to login up until about 11 server time, then gave up, couldn't get past authentication.

MVB
May 15, 2007, @ 03:10 PM
Heh, Netherspite dropped Spiteblade, and I took it as the best devastate mainhand I could get other than Decapitator, over gadi in a tough decision. THEN freakin' Malch dropped Decapitator .... d'oh ... Mikhael took it.

Malch also dropped warrior helm, gadi took his 2nd b/c everyone had one, and I believe turned it in fer tankin', since he had the dps one already.

He dropped dps caster neck, which nobody really wanted so Larien took. She's got a decent dps set in the works!

Netherspite also dropped the tanking shoulders, which Mik took.

Maiden dropped pally heal bracers for Dravinag, and Shard of the Virtuous for the 2nd week in a row I think ... Mikhael got it. Mikhael cleaned house ... took 3 items yesterday alone.

Oh, GruulMag roster and town hall info in privates.

Well you know I said I'd love you for all time.
Well sometimes I just can't believe you're mine.
But every now and then
I'm ready to say when
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.

Well in your arms is where I'll always stay
But something deep inside says not today
Well i'll be sitting here
working on this beer
Oh baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.

I try so hard each day
to make things go away
there's nothing left to say for tonight

For a couple of days I won't be comming round
I'm going to go get lost, I think I might skip town
Now I don't mean to pout
but you plain wore me out
Oh baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.

Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone
I tried dancing, I just want to go home
I know your cooking's great
But dinner will have to wait
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone

Well I'm in a frazzled state
the party will have to wait
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.

Why weren't you there, isn't that your regular group? I was just sub'ing, I guess for you. .. They were going to ask you to go last night when they were forming the raid, until they found out you were saved. (they didn't know you had gone with Mike's group the night before when he was looking for one more) Since I'm just a sub in for when someone needs another to fill, had I known you were going to be online and able to go with your regular group last night, I would have taken Mike's pm offer Sunday to go with his group, and you may have gotten the helm instead of me. :)

Okay, 2 long posts to follow. These are the after-action reports for the Wow-tastic pirate wedding in Baltimore this past weekend! The first post is the vows the couple took, they are pretty cool. The second post will be my after-action report.

-------------------
\"Articles of Matrimony"

Dearly Bedeviled,

God Almighty made this world vast, and then covered the better portion of it with seven great seas. Seas so vast in their own right, that two ships may navigate their own courses independent of one another for the entirety of their life's voyages, and never cross pasts. They may share the same ports of call. They may share the same hunting grounds. They might even have the same adventures. But for timing, and the fate of living the rover, they never have the opportunity to come along side and hail one another. Time after time, they simply pass in the night.

Mind you, in many cases, this can be considered a good thing! (Take the case of me and the Royal Navy for instance...)

But there be other ships what rightly should plot their courses side by side, formin' a partnership, sharin' in life's voyage. For those two ships, know that they can count one another to sail true to their course.

Who brings Angel here to this place in order that she may make contract to sail in just an agreement?

<Angel's Father:> I and her mother do, arrgh!

We thank thee for doin' so. Can ye attest to her coming along willingly, and of her own choosin'?

<Angel's Father:> Yes, we do.

Who brings Chris here to this place in order that he may make contract to sail in just such an agreement?

<Chris's Mom:> I do.

Likewise, we thank thee. Can ye attest to him coming along willingly, and of his own choosin'?

<Chris's Mom:> Well, I will just say that he has taken long enough.

We will take that as a yes. (This is working really very well so far, ain't it?)

Mr. Mallarde will you kindly take my pistols? I don't think I'll be needing 'em.

<Mr. Mallarde:> Aye, Captain! Do you want me to take your cutlass?

<The captain looks around at the gathering - seeing all the pirates and their weapons>

I'll just be holding on to my cutlass, Mr. Mallarde.

<Mr. Mallarde:> Aye, Captain!

Angel and Chris have come here to the main deck to sign the articles of matrimony, and they have brought you lot here to bear witness to their contract. This reponsiblity ain't to be taken lightly. As fellow comrades in the voyage of life, it will be your responsibility to help 'em to plot their best and most true course with one another and stick to it. Will ye be takin' on that responsibility with good faith and spirit?

<Crowd:> AYE! (ed. *I* did not hear Frosh's voice in this...)

Uh, before we proceed to the crux of the occasion, there is a matter of payment what needs to be taken care of. <Chris hands over a bag of coins. The captain weighs them in his hand and then pours them onto the plate in front of him.> Seems a bit light. <Looks Chris over> I'll be takin' that watch <Chris hands him the watch and the Captain opens it and looks at it>...And the ring. <Chris takes off the ring> <Angel:> It is for me and aren't I worth it? <Chris hands the Captain the ring> There that's better.

Now, Before we Begin, Angel has some words she'd like to share with the lot of you.

<Angel say thanks to all that came, that we miss those that couldn't make it, and we have a moment of silence for those that have went beyond and then, she says a prayer>

'Tis time to tie the knot. Grasp each other's left hand and look into each other eyes. <Hands are bound together by rope> You will now parlay yer terms with one another. (Don't worry, should the negotiations hit a deadlock, you will each be given a dagger. Generally speaking that usually get things moving right along)

Chris, you will speak your terms to Angel. <Chris following the captain's lead> Do you promise, that you will sail by my side, through gale or through calm, through feast or through famine, through bounty, or through loss, to be the one who I know I can trust, to share in my life?

Angel, be these terms to yer likin'? <Angel:> They be to my likin'

Likewise, Angel. You will speak yer terms to Chris. <Angel following the captain's lead> Do you promise, that you will sail by my side, through gale or through calm, through feast or through famine, through bounty, or through loss, to be the one who I know I can trust, to share in my life?

Now, Chris, be these terms to yer likin'? <Chris:> Point of order, Captain. Be these rules or ... guidelines?

A very good question! No, these ain't so much rules, as they are guidelines. You see, rules are meant to be broken but guidelins are there to steer you proper. Guidelines are there to make you think about the best way you can plot your course, no matter what situation may arise. Angel, with rules you could come away from this whole union feelin' like you was wearin' these here shackles. Like yer hands was bound. Like you'd lost yer freedoms. And you, Chris. You could just as easily feel as though you've just chained this here iron ball to yer ankle. (No more skipping out on shore-leave for you, old son!)

<Chris:> In that case, Captain, they are to my likin'

Smartly and rightly, the both of you have chosen to forgo the shackles and chains of mutual servitude. Instead, you have agreed to a set of guidelines in the form of terms designed to foster yer love, devotion, support, and respect for one another.

<Captain yells:> WHO'S GOT THE RINGS?

<Bynn's son, Calvin yells back:> I'VE GOT THE RINGS!

<Captain looks shocked and says meekly:> well, can I have 'em? <Calvin hands the parrot with the rings tied to it to the Captain. The Captain unties the rings and says:> The boy ties a good knot!

<Holding up the rings> These rings are the physical tokens of the contract into which the two of you have agreed. They are there to remind you of one another when you are apart and to remind you that you need not worry over ever sailin' alone. They represent to the world that yer takin' a voyage together on mutual terms. Take your rings and place 'em on each other's spars. <Angel and Chris exchange rings>

Angel and Chris, you have each come to this place willingly, and of your own choosin'. You have tied the knot. You have parlayed and agreed to the terms of your mutual contract. You have exchanged your rings. You have done so before yer family and yer mateys. You have done so in the sight of your creator. At this time, it is right that both of you sign these articles of matrimony. <Angel and Chris sign the AoM>

And so it is. That on the deck of this very yar and good ship, sailing out of the port of Baltimore on this twelth day of May, in the year of our lord Two Thousand and Seven, that I find myself with the honor of pronouncing the both of you, husband and wife. You may conclude the terms of your contract with a kiss. I call for three huzzahs for Chris and Angel McKenney. (HIP, HIP...HUZZAH! HIP, HIP...HUZZAH! HIP, HIP...HUZZAH! Musket fires off port bow)

<<I know, TLDR - but it was the coolest ceremony and I had to share >>

Jaxartes

Okey-dokey, here goes..

The wedding -really- started at 3:30 in my hotel room. That's where the guys in the wedding party all gathered to change and get our pictures taken by the photographer.

At about 4:45 we headed out to the Clipper City, a two-masted sailing ship in Baltimore Inner Harbor. Turns out Sicro's wedding is just two weeks before the release of the next Pirates of the Carribbean movie so all the local papers wanted pictures. Also, Food Network had sent a team there to show the reactions of Sicro and Lyqwid (sp) to this really neat pirate-ship-shaped cake that they had made by Ace of Cakes. The ship had cats in the crow's nest and on the deck, one even had a rat cornered on the rear rail. The whole thing was apparently based off a song by the Pyrates Royale, the group what played for the wedding.

At around 5:15 or so the guests started gathering on the pier, but weren't allowed on until a few minutes before 6. When the bride arrived Sicro dashed down into the hold to hide, as he wasn't allowed to see her before the ceremony. They then hid the bride at the aft of the ship and Sicro came back out to mingle and let the guests aboard.

The final arrivals were the surprisingly-nimble Frostburn and Babe. Frost, if Blizz ever makes you change your name, might I suggest "Puffy?"

The ship now moving into the harbor we started the ceremony, with Bynn and myself goofing our cue to follow Sicro to the front (We thought the sails were going up first, whoops). No harm, though, everything proceeded apace. The ceremony went just as described in the vows Sicro posted, except for a few cute asides:
-The watch Sicro gave to the captain for payment was a pocket-watch. Sicro had a little trouble getting it untangled from his costume. Lyqwyd to the rescue, she said "It's for me, honey!" drawing a nice chuckle from the crowd and buying a few more seconds for him to finally wrench the chain free and hand over the watch.
-When Bynn's son Calvin stepped forward with the rings the "I have the rings!" was really a shockingly loud bellow from a six-year-old. He did a great job.
-Calvin also wasn't quite ready when the musket went off at the conclusion of the ceremony, but recovered well.

Okay, ceremony over, and the new Mr. and Mrs. Sicro spent the next forty minutes or so getting pictures with every possible combination of family/wedding party that the photographer could conceive. After this they have their first dance, the best scallewag gives a few remarks, father of the bride gives a few remarks, everyone gives a big teary (or bleary, for those who started early) "Huzzah!" for the couple, and the real party starts.

Fast-forward to when the buffet for the main course is just opening. The sky heard "open" and did just that, dumping a very large amount of rain in a pretty short time. A crisp breeze that had been doing an admirable job of filling the sails to that point suddenly conspired to send the rain sideways-like, right under the protective canopy on the main deck.

Me, I was wearing like 5 layers of pirate clothes and a big hat. Facing away from the rain I didn't feel a thing while I contentedly munched away at the buffet (good skewers, mmmm), more of less by myself as people all around me are crying out and fleeing the downpour. My vantage point at the food table did give me a great view of the bride and groom out on deck, in the full teeth of the squall, having a nice dance together as Sicro wailed "Ha! It's just like Oregon Sunshine!"

When I was done eating I made the big mistake of turning around. I hadn't felt a thing with the rain hitting my back, but in an instant my face was soaked and my glasses hopelessly misted. But that was okay. The rain let up in just a few more moments. I hit the bar before everyone came back up, lit a cigar and sang along with the pirates until the cake cutting.

The bride and groom did the cake-cutting the nice way, with no face-mashing. Not a big fan of wedding cake meself, but this cake was actually really good. It seemed a shame to cut it up, really.

The ship got back to port a little early, as some folks were cold after their soaking. The party went until 10, then we followed the happy couple back to the hotel. A bunch of us (bride and groom not included) went to the hotel bar for drinks and snacks after, and stayed till they kicked us out, what seemed like a very short time later.

In short, it was a wild and fun ride, and a great party for us, and a really special wedding for Sicro and Lyqwyd.

He forgot to mention how perfectly timed and picturesque the musket and hip hip was.

When they kissed/were kissing after the "you may kiss her" stuff, the justice o' the peace aka lead singer of the Pyrates aka damned hysterical fella started shouting HIP HIP with the crowd following HUZZAH

Well, a prom cruise went right by near us, and all the prom dressed teens started cheering along with, and then everyone cheered even more raucously when the musket was fired. It was fandamnedtastic.
