Update Change Log:

- The maps now follow the ingame listing convention as per relic.
- Decals now all under TD folder, prefixed with <TD->
- Detail textures now follow the same <TD> -"detailtexturename" convention.
- Terrain on Tartarus dam maps got a small touchup.
- Fixed some duplicate object in same place errors.
- Khain Isle now even gloomier for effect. Attempted a sunset/threatening ambient.
- New map included - "Seethe" - 6 players - Very gloomy marshes, Attempted a dark and dangerous ambient. Jungle/Swamp combat. Terrain not finished yet. released in order to get a feel for ambience as diff monitors are likely at diff brightness and somewhere itll make no diff and somewhere it may be too dark
- Fog colour changed on all maps. Should be seamless now between fog and sky. (thanx to Hanna for the suggestion).
- Bomba - it works just fine on this end shadows and all. Please let me know if it works on most systems.
- File Names changed to <Xp_Name_SpecialCondition_Psy_xxx.xxx.>. Where special conditions are things like a 2v2v2 map etc.

From The Read Me:

Psy Pack Beta.

This pack contains the beta pack of 5 maps with various variations playwise. To install simply copy the contents to your appropriate DoW directory locations.

There are performance issues with 512x512 maps I am unable to fix yet I know about them so don't bother reporting unless you have a possible fix. However all other bug finds like terrain, positions, impass maps etc - please email the address in maps description field, or post here

Enjoy. This pack is short 5 maps, loading screens and minimaps which are still unfinished, almost done or on paper only.

The missing maps:

Temple - jungle setting again - huge 7 level Mayan temple in mid.
Crossfire - desert combat
Saints Square (8p) version - Modification of relic's 4p map
Powerplant - custom FX in this one giving me pains may not finish
Crafted World - Eldar themed map - finally - anyone tired of constant imperial buildings? Fluff be damned I want an eldaresque map :) - anyone got eldar buildings - send em I can't model worth crap... otherwise it would have to be improvised....

Depending on how this goes - I may sit down and finish the remaining maps.

Check it out see what you think. Main purpose is to see if the lag is global on all machines for someof the 512x512 maps. Don't report lag as a bug - simply tell me lags yes or no. As well as gameplay value - if any.

Don't worry I can take the "omg this is shit" so honest comments are welcome.

And please please do not forget to comment on performance, I know there are issues with large maps.

These maps will be in the next balance mod (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=53188) update if any as it is not taking off at all. Hence the maps as separate download.

Jamie or whoever does this now - please do NOT host this on DoW files unless once the beta is complete it is a simple matter to remove it and replace with a final version. Reason being I found several outdated maps there recently - which have newer versions. Simply for clarity sake.

If you played UT2k4 - and liked ONS-Arctic Stronghold - you'll like it - altho I think I will redo the bases - walls seem kinda pffft

I'll try these out when I get a chance. Kudos to your efforts regardless. Although I'm sure these maps kickass.

I enjoyed the two temples map the most. There was another map the one for 2vs2vs2 or 2vs2vs2vs2 that had alot of the req points hidden behind trees. You had to move the camera to be able to capture them which was a little bit annoying. Good job psy.

I voted "Good Stuff" because they're not maps that I would play endlessly... but it's not cause of the gameplay.

I'm a very environment sensitive person. That is to say, that gloomy atmospheres tend to depress me/annoy me/give me headaches. Cloudy days suck ass for me, and a lot of these maps are very dull colored, with soft lighting. Just something that I'm not good at handling... often times that's why you'll see me rebuke volcanic reaction/Doom Chamber/Quatra etc... Just hard for me to handle. lol

Was looking forward to those desert maps... weren't in the pack I got, though. :( The gameplay is intense because... it's kinda like a battlefield. There's so many places to go, so many ins and outs, so many points that are linear with each other you never know what to go for first.

And it's not a bad thing at all. Kinda cool actually to have a style like that, very flustering and confusing sometimes, though.

The amount of effort you put into them is endearing myfriend.

that had alot of the req points hidden behind trees.

intentional - and if you discovered the impass map sneakyness youd see a shitload of "oh shit" scenarios opening up for turtlers....

are you going to send this out to a dow mod and map wevsite for other people to use?

i reccomend dowfiles.com

Your recommend is noted for idiocy - I do not want people to click on 3 million links and go past 5 adds before they can get a map. No thanx - direct download - if they wanna mirror it fine....

Anyway - bug fixing and updating stuff...

So you managed the UT2004 conversion huh?

Very nice, I like :)

Psy

yeah - not too happy with it tho. And since I got two "poor" votes on relicnews, either you guys are being biased and some of them indeed suck shit or some people were envious as there is a lot and i mean a LOT like 90% of maps out there that are plain horse shit, even smell as bad :P

But yeah no more maps - distribution is shit and no1 is playing cutom maps mostly due to no autodl.

who is the genius with the "shit" vote - I would simply like to know why?
