Me and obee were doing team slayer yesterday, and we had 2 picture perfect endings to the games.
The first was on midship. The score isn't really close, but it was the very last kill that made it memorable.
For the last few kills we assault them in their base. It's 2 against 4 for this fight, they had the sword and the shotgun. Me and somebody else on our team gun down 3 of them (including shotgun guy), my ally also dies. We need 1 more kill to win.
I turn and begin firing at the sword guy, just as I take out his sheilds my plasma's overheat, So i'm thinking OH SHIT.
Then I notice i'm standing on a shotgun. Grab it and give the sword guy one shot full in the face, he goes down. Best ending kill ever!
The 2nd match ended spectacularly as well. The game was incredibly close, never more then a few kills difference.
At the end the score was 49 them, 47 us (play to 50). I yell to stay in a group and not die. This one was on beaver creak, me and obee in the middle. I run up the arch looking for the rocket launcher (not there) and obee followed me.
We both looked down and simultaneously notice that their entire team is in a group coming around the side of the fort, right in front of us. We start throwing grenades like mad (without communication, it was just instinctive). We're dead on, and grenades start exploding like mad in the middle of their group. Obee nailes one, and I nail one with our first grenades. Our seconds don't kill anybody, but I notice we got a near miss on one guy (his sheild flared while he was airborne). I quickly aim and fire a .5 second SMG burst from insane range smg wise.
Somehow it hits him and kills him. Game over, we win. Greatest ending of a Halo 2 match i've ever seen. It was a picture perfect ambush. The ending score, them 49, us 50.
